and get this we just heard from them this morning: the have been stuck in the same spot on the pennsylvaaia turnpike for about 10 hours. we wish them the best of luck- and a safe ride back home. luckily -- they'll probably avoid kentucky... which is in even worse shape... as some of the country's busiest interstates there have also come to a standstill this weekend because of the storm -- take a look at this nightmare e long interstate 75 in kentucky... the winter conditions are causing massive backups there and all across the east coast... this highway is now backed up more than 35 miles... back here in iowa... a 67-year-old woman dies in an apartment fire... it happened early friday morni in dewitt. police say a firefighter was also injured after part of the building's roof collapsed... the woman's name has not been released at this time -- and the cause of the fire is under investigation. an iowa man pleads guilty to two couuts of first deeree murder. this man, 37- year-old jerry
his former sister-in- law loretta and a man, named m mchael robinson. loretta's body was found last month in a pond. the second body - who dillinger says is robinson -- was found near a house in thayer. he was apparently in a relationship with one oo dillinger's relatives. he was given two consecutive life sentences. a man who injected a woman with heroin, causing her to overdose is ssntenced to tt years in prison. 37-year-old richard roberts, of cedar rapids, pleaded guilty to distribution of heroin last october. & he admitted to injecting the woman, causing hererto lose consciousness. she was revived by emergency crews, and they say she was close to brain injury and death. roberts is being held in the united states marshal's custody ununil he cananbe transported to a federal prison. in continuing coverage this morning... a man arrested for allegedly robbing a bank is now accused of calling in a a mb threat shortly before the robbery...
clifton brinkmeyer - robbed a u-s bank in iowa city on tuesday... he was arrested for the robbery - and through investigation, officers determined the 911 call reporting the high school bomb threat came from his car. .. that bank was robbed 20 minutes after the bomb threat was called into west high school... more than two thousand students went to different locations as officers and drug dogs searched the halls... investigators now say a fire that killed two young sisters was an accident... crawford county wisconsin sheriff's deputies say the fire started at the center of the home in wauzeka... which kept the girls from beinnable to escape using the staircase. the sisters died as a result of the fire. investigators haven't been able to determine the exact cause of the firee an early wake up for iowa state students camping out before monday's basketball game -- beause their tent starts on fire... thth tent fire outside of hilton coliseum
