to death. a man has been arrested in san antonio for murdering detective ben marconi as he wrote a traffic ticket in his squad car. the suspect allegedly blames his anger on several custody battles -- and says he lashed out at reporter: what were you upset about sir? "society not letting me see my son, i lashed out at somebody who did not deserve it." reporter: did you know oficer marconi? "no sir." murder. a memorial honoring detective marconi is growing outside the police headquarters in san antonio. he was a 20-year veteran of the force. he was one of four police officers shot in three states on sunday -- in eastern iowa -- a fellow officer and documentary film maker is giving a behind the scenes look at the aftermath of officer involved shootings. their hope is to prepare officers and their families for the moment they could -- but patrick shaver docuumentary

according to court documents from our coverage partners at the telgraph herald... robbins grabbed the girl as she was walking home from school in march of last year. he apparently pulled her to a shed, but she was able to get away. robbins is expected to be given a suspended ten-year prison sentence. water cannons in freezing temperatures. pipeline protestors demanding a sheriff resign. people protesting the dakota access pipeline in north dakota believe law enforcement has gone too far. they sprayed water on protestors crowd control. law enforcement say they needed to put out fires set by protestors. "many people had symptoms of hypothermia. our medical facility inside the camp treated over 200 people," "we can use whatever force necessary to maintain peace," sixteen people were arrested monday during a protest. samsung is doing damage control new reports show other galaxy s-7 devices have burst into flames

and the lead cause is unattended cooking. this thanksgiving holiday say yes to food, family, and fun and no to fires! the u-s. consumer product safety commission demonstrates dramatic kitchen fires, including turkey fryer, oven and stovetop fires. to remind you to be careful! starbucks fans are paying more to get their fix. starbucks raised the prices of between ten cents and 30 cents. the price hike quietly went into effect on november tenth. this isn't the first hike of the year... starbucks raised the cost of some of its drinks by as much as 30 cents back in july. more trouble for chipotle.. three people are suing the restaurant chain...alleging they lied about their calorie count. the complaint specifically cites the chorizo burrito. chipotle claims the chicken and pork wrap is about 300

life forever changed. family members hoping answers come -- as police make a change in an investigation 15 years later. shawn north was shot in his waterloo driveway in 2001. north telling police two men knocked on his door demanding his truck- but when he refused, they shot him. he was paralyzed from his arms down. 15 years later -- he died shooting... not only when he got shot we you question what was his quality of life..he was never the same. you could never be the same. now -- police are ruling the case a homicide instead of an assault. sitting in her living room -- as

prospect avenue in waterloo. a big hole left in the side of the home after the driver backed into it. a lot of debris all over the sitting on the couch -- she would have been hit. "it was just like okay i am and just heard a big boom and then just to see a car sitting there" the driver faces charges for driving under thef tells kwwl he was not drinking. police say they could smell alcohol on his breath. a former doctor for usa gymnastics and michigan state gymnastics is arrested and charged with sexual assault. court records show the allegations go back almost 20 years. he was the doctor for usa gymnastics from 1996 until last year -- and also faces lawsuits by two former usa gymnasts. after abruptly canceling the rest of his national tour --

a psychitriac hold. this comes after a week of controversial statements. he publicly attacked fellow musicians jay z and beyonce. former n-b-a star dennis rodman has been charged with hit and run in connection to an incident over the summer. police say rodman was driving the wrong way on a california freeway in july. no word if anyone was hurt in the crash. fighting back against an armed robber. a gas station clerk is lucky to be alive. this in florida shows the robber walking into the store with a metal pipe. the suspect hit the clerk in the back with the weapon, then with both his fists and again with the pipe. the employee fought back... and managed to take the pipe away... he tried to rob the store, and he hit me back and tried to leave me unconscious, so whatever he can get, he can get. but god saved

and hopes police will catch the "oh deer" after a car crash last week. dash cam shows a deputy responding to a driver. the 59-year-old driver said he hit a deer and thought it was dead... so he put it in his trunk to take home for the venison. except the driver said before he could get there, the deer woke the deputy and driver spoke before the driver slowly opened his trunk and pulled the deer out. as the deputy is talking about a "mangled leg" and having to put the deer down, it got up and took off into the woods. graphic material and drug use. is the book appropriate for students -- there's a new committee in the dubuque district to decide. an 11-person committee met for the first time to talk about the book the perks of being a
