right now at 11:00 there's no containing nova nation's excitement tonight. thousands of fans welcomed home our new national champions villanova wildcats. >> the team arrived at philly international greeted by airport fire units with water cannon salute. players and coaches then loaded buses for their journey back to campus. only "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter road along with the motorcade. >> it's really quite an amazing moment here to see a rush hour on 95 and the blue route with not a single car in sight. >> and then back at campus, where the homecoming celebration kick into high gear, the players and head coach jay white thanked fans for their unsighing support. >> incredible. i mean these people are great coming out here. >> that's just the beginning of what jay wright told our greg argos in an exclusive one-on-one interview. it certainly been a day remember. not just for nova nation but for the entire region. good evening, i'm jessica dean. >> i'm ukee washington. wildcats won the national
championship in dramatic fashion. so it's no surprise today's homecoming was filled with emotion. only our greg argos talk to jay wright after he thanked the crowd at today's rally and greg kicks off coverage tonight. what a celebration. >> it was a huge celebration, jessica and ukee. we're talking about the ncaa national champions they arrived here to philadelphia international airport this afternoon. they had that exclusive police escort directly here to campus. that is when they entered the football arena the football stadium here at villanova. in front of thousands of adoring fans. nova nation electrified good everyone saying this will be something you'll remember forever. >> reporter: fans waiting in the cold. >> when jenn kin made that shot i started to scream and starte started -- fell on the floor and started to cry. >> reporter: all to celebrate the men's basketball team and their national championship win. >> my knees gave out once the basket went in and i fell to the

this is cbs3 "eyewitness news" with ukee washington, jessica dean, kate bilo and don bell. ♪ campaign 2016 tonight we have projected winners on both sides in the wisconsin primary. first, to the gop. texas senator ted cruz eadesly defeated trauma many. wisconsin winner take most state when it comes to delegates and experts say cruz's win makes an open convention more likely. on the democratic side bernie sanders defeated hillary clinton sanders has now won six of the last seven states. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt has more on the wisconsin results and what they mean going for. >> reporter: tonight at a turning point. it is the rallying cry. it is the call from the hard-working men and women of wisconsin to the people of america.
>> wisconsin was an easy win for texas senator ted cruz and vermont senator bernie sanders in i don't know if the audience here knows it, i don't see any tv' here's but it has been projected by i think all of the networks that we won in wisconsin ! >> reporter: still the rep cap frontrunner donald trump fell behind cruz but pulled ahead of ohio governor john kasich. expert poll shows republican votes are most concerned with the economy and government spending and many want change. >> i'm supporting ted cruz. yup. i like his ideas for the count country. >> i think he would would be one most helpful. >> republicans have 42 dill gates at stake. democrats nick. the wisconsin primary is considered important because it's the only primary this tuesday and there won't be another one until new york in two weeks. >> tomorrow senator sanders and secretary clinton will be in philly for separate events normally our local primaries aren't real until play but this

start to finish let's take a look at a time lapsed video. sun up to sundown at kutztown area middle school. dee blue sky all day long. you see pretty nice looking sunset here and then everything goes dark it's only 27 degrees there in kutztown at the moment. the cold air is here. and it's here to stay. at least through the extended period a brief warmup and that comes on thursday. but our one warm day as we head through the weekend is really accompanied by some wet weather. here the storm that's going to bring it actually bringing snow right now to portions of wisconsin. portions of michigan and we're seeing rain and thunderstorms down through portions of the mill rheely the central planes from nebraska down into kansas and iowa. that system is going to head our way as we go through the end of the week. thursday it crosses through, behind it, we open the flood gates once again to cold couldn't made yann air and we will feel it this weekend. so what you felt today, that's what you'll be feeling saturday its saturday and much sunday as well. our highs feeling leak
february 19th when our average high is 45. that's what we hit today. 43 was the high in allentown just 33 today in mount pocono and 44 the daytime high in dover. wildwood got a little bit warmer but you can see up and down temperatures for the past five days or so. seems like distant memory we actually hit 80 last friday before the storms came through. saturday 65. then we dropped to the 40s. back to the 60s on monday. back to the fours that battle that time of year winter is trying to hold on, spring is trying to move. we get this kind of variable weather often this time of year. usually we feel these swings more in march than we do in april. but we very warm march now it's kind of like we're paying the piper in april. temperatures right now 38 degrees in philadelphia. take look at millville it's 27 degrees there right now. very cold. we're subfreezing in allentown and in lancaster. 21 in mount pocono the one difference is, not a lot of wind tonight or tomorrow morning. so the wind chills will not be as brutal when you step out the door tomorrow. you can see this wedge of warmth preceding that next front that's
going to come in on thursday. temperatures do warm um as that front approaches but in the meantime, very cold temps to night. that freeze warning for the tire area now this is the entire area that the growing season has started. you don't see it for the poconos and lehigh valley they'll be below freezing as well in fact they already are but you don't put a freeze warning out unless it's going to impact 57 teague that what it's for. future weather shows clear skies overnight and into tomorrow. few clouds in the afternoon. pretty nice day. you can see that front lurking off to the west this is going to cross through the area thursday morning into the afternoon. with rain and thunder and behind that, it gets very cold again but the defendant air holding off until the weekend that means your parade forecast for friday not looking too bad. below average it's a cool day, some sun, looks generally dry with temperature in the low 50's through the parade. overnight 28 degrees your low. the record by the way is 24. doesn't look like we'll break that but too close for comfort here. 55 degrees for your went. milder in the afternoon after a very cold start. thursday is warm, but wet.
friday is not too bad. for the villanova parade but the week send cold and on saturday, possibly saturday night some snow showers. swell. >> no you didn't. >> as well.
