philadelphia. our alex andre hoff live at the school with news on the teenager, and the suspect. alex? >> well, that injured student was taken to einstein medical center, we are told that she is in stable condition, but that suspect also a 14 year old girl has been taken into custody. >> concerned guardians with picture i.d.'s, were freed to pick up their student friends j cook elementary school shortly after the day began. >> a lot of parents is running up right now. >> cord to the school district, around 8:45, a fight between two, 14 year old girls, broke out in a third floor hallway. one of them grabbing a pair of scissors, and stabbing the other in the upper chest and arm. >> i can confirm these students know each other, and they've had a dispute. >> dispute that lasted several weeks. so it is unclear at this time what it was about. >> after the incident, philadelphia police was called. they detained the student that stabbed the other student, and right now, we are in the midst of conducting a investigation
to see what occurred. >> the school was placed on lock-down, but notifications to guardians took about two hours. >> we found out by the news today. teachers didn't call, nobody called, it is craze. >> i another student were injured, for some parents who came to check in, that's all they needed to know. >> i'm here. they're fine. i seen their face. she is cool. now i got to go back to work. >> some parents did voice some concerns over the fact that this school was recently made k through eighth, combining the lower and middle school grades, regards egg this kind of violence. the school district says that these grades operate on separate floors. reporting in the logan section of the city, alexandria hoff, cbs-3, "eyewitness news", jim? >> thanks very much, alex. caught on camera, salem county man who watched burglars break into his on remote device order opened them out every his house analyst ends, surveillance video from the home in upper bits grove, burglary greeted at the door yesterday morning, by the homeowner's dogs who didn't seem to care. but, then the burglars were shocked by the voice of the
homeowner. he saw them on surveillance camera, was able to talk to them, and he told them to get out. the burglars got away with some jewelry, police searching for the suspects. >> more surveillance video of another burglary, this shows a man breaking into a scrap metal recycling business, by climbing through a hole in the cinder block wall. the burglar and accomplice reportedly tried to get some metal, by using a electric welding tool, but it didn't work. if you know anything about either of these break-in's, please call police. this noon, thousands of union verizon workers up and down the east coast are on strike. hundreds of them who walked off the job in philadelphia are picket g outside the verizon building right now. "eyewitness news" reporter trang do joins us live in chinatown what it means for verizon customers, frank? >> reporter: brooke, verizon brought in thousands of non-union workers to assure customer service is not affected for land line, verizon fios, wireless not

completely empty at this point. let me zoom you out though. you can see, obviously some activity, again, some nasty thunderstorms down across the deep south, most notably panhandle section of florida, but none of this will bother our area. so, look what's happening here. you can't really pinpoint it at this point. but there is an area of high pressure that is centering itself right over the eastern united states, because you have clockwise flow around areas of high pressure in the northern hemisphere, all of this is basically going to get shunted away from our area, and this is called an owe mega block. now, it is casino of just fancy term, for basically quiet weather in our area, the reason they call it owe mega block, if you look closely, kind of likes like the greek letter owe mega, right? high pressure where you have got that dome setting up. the jet stream sort of gets amplified, right over our area. if you are sitting outside the dome, that's where you are going to end one very nasty weather potentially with any storms that move through. but we're sheltered essentially, because of that high setting up shop, as it will. now, keep in mind, you're going to start to hear me talk
about this a lot more now that the sun angle getting higher and higher, means it is stronger and stronger sun, that's out, but, you have got uv index at six or seven in the next couple of days, may not sounds awfully hi, but all it takes is 30 minute for to you start to burn out in this kind of sunshine, and it is with us all day, for the next several. pollen, also, a side effect of this particular pattern, because you have still got some pretty decent tree pollen out there, blues definitely going to be out there, maple, juniper, alder specially, medium to high levels of pollen in the next few days. threes beautiful days coming up. you don't want to let them go to waste. have your allergy medication ready to go if you suffer from seasonal allergies. there they are, still group of folks headed out for recess outside plenty valley, up at broads head ville, nothing but blue skies in the distance in the live neighborhood network, it goes for everyone, not just the northern counties. first pitch looks awesome tonight. it will be clear, i certainly suggest having sweatshirt as phils take on the padres, 7:05, still full sunshine for
