"eyewitness news" at scene at passyunk avenue overpass. right the now we know investigators are on the scene and we are working to get you more information but a burning body was found under i-76 in south philadelphia. well, it is day number three of the septa strike and it will be another hectic commute around philadelphia today. >> transit agency says both side are making progress, lets get out to "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao live at the sheraton in center city where negotiations are set to resume again this morning.

early yesterday a source say 30 finally real bargaining was finally happening. but here we are day three ape still no agreement is in place. as a warning septa is issuing a statement. they are calling on the union to engage in good faith negotiations. septa officials said on several occasion this is week septa negotiators believed progress towards a deal had been made. however at each of the seemingly positive turns twu local 234 has brought a halt to negotiations. roughly 5,000 union members walk off the job early tuesday morning, leaving hundreds of thousands of commuters and school children looking for a different ride. on the big sticking point of pensions, septa says it is actually adopted a new plan at union's request that would increase benefit for members. septa says it is also, offered wage increases, bringing the average employee's annual earnings from about $68,000 to $76,000 over the five years of the proposal.

officials also say that they have addressed operational issues. union wants better work rules including more rest time between shifts. union said septa's statement is outrageous. now that the two sides go back and forth commuters are left in the hid will fighting traffic and spending more to get where they need to go. now i have to be, sticking around, and try to way uber, and they have gone up on their price because they know that there is no other alternative. >> i talk to the governor, i talk to the mayor, and i even talk to our transportation chairman. >> reporter: number of elect officials brought into help these negotiation as long. you heard congressman bob brady, however saying no additional funding is anywhere to be found. in the meantime septa is also asking the union, to pledge to the public that they will return to work on election day, that is next tuesday,
