into parts of the area. storm scan3 showing us pretty quiet conditions right now. we did pick up about a half inch of snow in that mount pocono throughout the day today but our next storm system is up wind bringing snowfall to parts of the upper and lower midwest that will that continue to track eastbound and gives us this winter weather potential as we head into sunday afternoon, tomorrow night and early monday morning from the poconos general about two to 4 inches of snow. this is kind of a backwards system. we'll see snow first transition a wintry mix and then transition all rainfall, some warmer air builds into the mid levels of the atmosphere kind of cuts off that snow chance so berks, lehigh valley, a couple inches of snow on sunday, sunday night before transitioning over to freezing rain early monday morning. northwest suburbs maybe a minor snow accumulation, then freezing rain, then all rain and if we do see any flakes in philly at all i think our best chance will be on late day sunday, sunday evening. otherwise philadelphia points south and east this will be mainly an all rain event. future weather showing us sunday morning quiet, sunday afternoon starting to see
those snow showers breaking out north and west. then a better chance of that snow spreading out as we head into that sunday evening. again i think this is a chance we could see a few snow showers sneaking in towards center city philadelphia. then on sunday night early monday morning that potential for freezing rain upper bucks county, lehigh, up into the poconos, also berks county has that potential. all rainfall likely in philadelphia south and east and then 6 o'clock in the morning, dealing with a transition to mainly all rainfall across much of the delaware valley but it is still going to be a very tough commute with the slick roadways even into the 8 o'clock hour still dealing with rain around philly south jersey delaware and as we head into lunchtime that moisture starting to build on out. then monday evening commute looking much improved but we're concerned for that potential for ice accumulation late sunday night early monday morning up towards the lehigh valley and poconos. that could create very slick conditions. as far as snowfall accumulation not major. again two to four in the poconos, possibly one to two berks county lehigh valley and maybe, maybe a dusting in
