are suspicious. it doesn't count as paranoia when you live through what they have lived there. it's friday, january 29. right now on "first look," the insults were flying as donald trump said he skipped the fox debate out of respect for. and newly revealed video of the shooting death and arrest of the oregon protesters. the cdc calls the zika virus a pandemic and creating a travel warning for everyone not just pregnant women. and a bank robber stopped cold at a door, and sinkholes taking over and olympic sized distraction from michael phelps.
2:01 am
and so much more. "first look" starts now. good morning. i'm gigi stone woods. last night's dueling gop events with donald trump hosting a fund-raiser during the fox news debate. megyn kelly wasted no time. >> donald trump chose not to attend the debate. what message do you think that sends to the voters of iowa? >> let me say i'm a maniac and everyone on this stage is stupid, fat and ugly and ben, you're a terrible surgeon. now that we have gotten the donald trump portion out of the way. >> it's not about donald trump. he's an entertaining guy, the greatest show on earth. but this campaign is about the greatest country in the world. >> i kind of miss donald trump, he was a teddy bear to me. i kind of miss him. i wish he was here. >> trump speaking at his event three miles away. he didn't hold back. >> i didn't want to be here.

2:05 am
you don't get 30 seconds to respond to me. >> well, your question was you have disagreed -- >> sir, i know you like to argue about the rules but we'll conduct the debate. >> i would note that the last four questions have been rand, please attack ted, chris, please attack ted, jeb, please attack ted. let me say this. >> it is a debate, sir. >> no a debate is a policy issue but i will say this. gosh, if you guys ask one more mean question i may have to leave the stage. >> chris wallace holding his own. who won? looking at the candidates, at least on social media the most talked about on facebook was ted cruz. he got a whopping 41% of the conversation and of course donald trump was the most discussed on twitter. keeping with the top polls ted cruz rounded out the top three.
