track work. a.m. you have track work new haven line and metro north. if you are heading to the southern state parkway eastbound exit 21 to 22 an ongoing accident investigation. all lanes closed down as a result. alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect. lori, over to you. >> heather, thank you. developing this morning, a sprawling crime scene in teaneck, new jersey. several people were stabbed inside a home overnight. >> eyewitness news reporter kala rama joins us live from the scene with more on this. good morning, kala. >> reporter: good morning, rob. at least two people were stabbed. this started with a fight between two adult brothers and their elderly mother in the home behind me. investigators are currently inside. right now their conditions are serious. we know at least two people were rushed to the hospital, one to englewood and the other

victim to holy name hospital. this all unfolded around 11:00 last night. we were here as police snapped pictures of a car in the driveway of this home onward plaza then gathered evidence inside the home where the fight took place. at this point, officers roped off ward plaza as this is still a fluid investigation. police are not telling us if any arrests have been made or suspect. at this point, they are referring all of our questions to the bergen county we have calls in. as soon as we hear an update, we will let you know. live in teaneck, kala rama, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> thank you very much. also dramatic video into the newsroom overnight. a police officer on long island put himself at risk to rescue a man burning inside of an s.u.v. officials say the officer was talking to a man who was parked at a strip mall in stony brook last night. became emotionally disturbed, aggressive then started a fire inside the s.u.v.

the officer pulled him to safety as the vehicle then erupted into a fireball. hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. investigators are waiting results of tests to determine what drugs former nba star lamar odom took before he was brothel. >> he is fighting for his life this morning. those who found him told investigators the former basketball player was doing cocaine and taking sexual performance enhancers. he was found unresponsive called love ranch. >> hurry. blood coming out of his nose, white stuff out of his mouth. we can't get him to wake up. he is almost not breathing. >> the queens native is surrounded by loved ones including his estranged wife khloe kardashian.

the dodgers won't make it easy. the mets had a chance to close out the series on citi field but the dodgers walked away with a 3-1 win. taking the mound is the pitcher with the fierce arm and, of course, the fabulous hair. degrom was lights out pitching seven innings, no runs and struck out 13. he not only owned the dodgers in the postseason but he did the same thing in the regular season. the hope is that he can work his magic again tonight. >> probably the biggest game i have pitched. that will be in my mind. go out there and try to put up zeros. >> now, adding to the drama of a do or die game 5 is the possible return of chase utley. utley was suspended for games 3 and 4 for what the league called an illegal slide into ruben tejada.

it slowed down screenings at j.f.k. causing massive delays. there is no indication the service disruption was malicious. new details in the death of a bicyclist in queens. the driver was charged. 34-year-old anna rodriguez was hit and killed yesterday in sunnyside. police say the truck driver, 57- year-old dennis vosari failed to yield as he turned the corner. a clerk sucker punched at a boy day gay then robbed. surveillance video shows a man at the counter at the deli in midtown. he sucker punches the clerk knocking him off his chair. the suspect then grabbed as many scratch off lottery tickets as he could find before dashing out the door leaving the clerk stunned.

>> thank god he recovered and he is okay. it's scary for the next person it will happen to. very scary, unsettling. >> the store owner is criticizing the nypd saying it took cops more than two hours to respond to the robbery giving the clerk plenty of time to get away. police say a dispatch problem caused the delay. they are looking into it. today the funeral of a pro baseball prospect killed in a drive-by shooting in westchester county. last night friends and relatives gathered at a funeral home in yonkers to remember 23- year-old michael nolan. he died friday three weeks after he was shot in the parking lot at a yonkers burger king. police are still looking for the killer. he was a star pitcher at his high school, drafted by the oakland a's. a family in the bronx is doing everything it can to find their stolen pet. burglars took three-month-old luna then ransacked the family's home tuesday.

construction. effect today. rob, over to you. >> heather, thank you. new information on the search for the men who attacked a u.s. airman who helped stop the terrorist attack on board a sacramento police released new photos of a car driven by the two -- driven by the two men thursday. investigators say is the brawl started when spoken intervened in an argument to defend a woman on the street. detectives hope pictures of the car and other surveillance images will lead to an arrest. >> we are reviewing a lot of video from the area and we are hoping that will prove positive for the case. we have been having a huge outpoor by the community on giving the tips. >> stone and two friends were hailed as heros for taking down a heavily armed gunman on a train heading to paris in august. stone meanwhile is in the

hospital but he is in fair condition. tennis star is suing the united states tennis association over a fall she suffered in a locker room during the u.s. open. she was a runner up at wimbledon last year took the fall after winning a match in queens. she suffered a concussion and withdraw from the open and tournaments in china and japan. since the accident, her world ranking has dropped at least 13 spots. country munich icon daily parton is firing back with reports that with stomach cancer. she issued a statement saying she was in the hospital to have kidney stones removed. while she thanked fans for their concern, parton said there is no truth to the rumors that she has cancer. the 69-year-old performer said she is doing well and working on a tv movie. >> looks good.

police are escorting activists from city hall after hours of protesting. demonstrators first filled the upper gallery yesterday as council members voted on making kevin davis the permanent police commissioner. he said the protests are not discouraging. >> this is where the city is. if we get to the other side of it, we have to go through the moments. >> the protestors are seeking justice for freddie gray who died after being handcuffed in the back of a police van earlier this year. davis took over after the former commissioner was fired in the wake of gray's death. the full council will vote monday. closing in now on 5:00. just ahead on "eyewitness news this morning," we are following a developing story out of new police there are investigating multiple stabbings inside a home in teaneck. a crew is on the scene.

two adult brothers involving their elderly mother. their conditions are serious. two people were rushed to a local hospital. one to englewood and the her to holy name. this unfolded around 11:00. police snapped pictures of a car in the driveway of the home and gathered evidence inside the home, as i said for most of the morning and overnight where the fight took place. at this point, officers roped off ward plaza. this is a fluid investigation. we have been asking questions like if any arrests have been made or if they are looking for a suspect and release the suspect description but they are referring the questions to the bergen prosecutor's office. as soon as they update us, we will let you know. >> kala, thank you. flights should be back on schedule after a glitch in the department of homeland security computer triggered massive

delays at airports across the country. federal officials say the system that checks lists of passengers against names on the terror watch list went down for about 90 minutes yesterday. problems slowed down screenings at j.f.k. causing massive delays. there is no indicating it was malicious. investigators say a police officer put his own life on the line to pull a man out of this fireball on long island overnight. an emotionally disturbed man became aggressive talking to a police officer in a stony brook parking lot last night. the man then allegedly set himself on fire sitting in the we can. the officer quickly pulled him to safety as flames engulfed the s.u.v. the man was taken to the hospital with nonlife- threatening injuries. friends and family will say

died falling down an elevator shaft in an abandoned building. he died after falling six stories in that abandoned hospital. the building, which used to be known as the tompkinsville down. the funeral will be held this morning at 10:00. a memorial service will be held for the truck driver who turnpike. his native india. police say the 40-year-old lost control of his tanker truck last wednesday after swerving to avoid a mattress that fell off another vehicle. no one else was hurt in that crash. in other news, secretary of state john kerry will travel to the middle east to ease the escalating tensions between israelis and palestinians. he plans to meet benjamin

netanyahu and mahmoud abbas. eight israelis and 31 palestinians have been killed in the latest wave of violence. new york city mayor de blasio is heading to israel and will leave tonight. he will be back in new york on sunday. the trip was planned before the recent string of attacks in jerusalem. last night and the mayor hosted the first town hall meeting of his term. the focus was on the soaring cost of rent. hundreds turned out for the meeting in washington heights. that neighborhood and nearby inwood have more than 53,000 rent stabilized apartments, the most in the city. >> so much of what we are trying to do is come together in this neighborhood. this is one of the places where the fight to protect affordable housing is most intense, where the need is greatest. >> the town hall participants were invited by about 20 civic groups. many spoke only spanish and relied on interpreters provided by de blasio's administration. this morning the city's

welcome back. in western new york police are searching for the suspects that left a 15-year-old boy dead and a 17-year-old hurt. it happened last night near syracuse university. the suspects fired shots before getting out and running into a large cemetery. investigators searched the area from the air and on the ground. the school was briefly put on lockdown but it has since been lifted. drivers hope this morning's commute on the l.i.e. is a little smoother than the ride home yesterday after two accidents really snarled up traffic.

exits 56 and 57 yesterday afternoon. the eastbound l.i.e. was closed for several hours in hauppauge where a motorcyclist was seriously hurt after a crash. nearby a suffolk police cruiser was involved in a separate crash. and check out this motorcycle crash in new jersey caught on camera. the rider lost control and crashed into a car in toms river. instead of stopping to find the car's owner or leaving a note, he took off. police are now looking for him. we are looking for a great day out there. nice fall day. bill evans with the accuweather forecast. good morning, sir. >> a pretty start to the day. this advertise our camera in brooklyn to the lower east side. gorgeous with clear skies and a cool morning. grab the jacket and sweater. 53 in the city. about 43 well north and west. wind northwest at 3. pressure has been rising. that points to a great day. pollen count is moderate for ragweed. we are into ragweed season.

dozens of people were forced from their home ahead of a wildfire in central texas. the fire outside of austin destroyed nine homes. crews are being brought in from across the state to battle the fire which is being fueled by

welcome back. the funeral of a pro baseball prospect killed in a drive-by shooting in westchester county will take place today. last night friends and relatives gathered at a funeral home in yonkers to remember 23- year-old michael nolan. he died friday three weeks after he was shot in the parking lot of a yonkers burger king. police are looking for the killer. nolon was a star pitcher at his high school. he was drafted by the oakland a's. disappointment for fans of placido domingo. he has been forced to bow out of five performances at the
