angeles. just after the big win the mets sent out this tweet, put it in the books. mets win 3-2. we are going to the nlcs. >> and in fact, the empire state building lit up in orange and blue in celebration of the big win. we had three reports on the mets road to the world series beginning with sports anchor rob powers. good morning everybody. bring on those cubs. big league baseball's down to the final four and the mets are in. they dodged a threat in los angeles last night and advanced to the national league championship series. these mets pulled it out in five games. amazing. a bad night for baseball in california, a, daniel murphy agreed 1st inning, curtis granderson at 1st base. granderson's in to score, the mets have the lead. the dodgers came back with two runs, l. a. takes the lead. dodgers end up arguing with each other in the dugout though.

to 3rd on a walk to duda. nobody's covering the 3rd base bag with the shift in place. murphy would score on a sacrifice fly to tie the game. his big night continued in the 6th inning. he hit a home run. the mets have a lead and they never gave it up. win the game 3-2. they win the series 3 games to 2. look at that scene last night at dodgers stadium. the dodgers are quiet. the mets are happy they're moving on. laura behnke was there from the first pitch to the very last. all season long the mets have talked about their resiliency, this team's ability to bounce back no matter the circumstances. thursday night at dodgers stadium they proved it once again on what for many of these players was the biggest stage of their career. as a result they get another series and their world series title hopes are still alive. >> everything we've gone through the last nine years, this champagne tastes a lot sweeter. i'm glad these young guys get to enjoy this.

tensions are on the rise in israel on the west bank. hamas is calling on palestinians to make this another day of rage. the scorch marks show where they already attacked a sacred site. the biblical patriarch joseph. the palestinian forces put out the fire. israeli police are restricting entry to friday prayers for muslims at the noble sanctuary on temple mount. only men aged 40 years and up are being allowed into the site. and the current tensions did not stop new york city mayor bill de blasio from heading to israel. he's due to arrive in just a few hours. he will deliver an address on anti-semitism at a conference of mayors. the mayor also wants to make sure the palestinians are included in his message of peace and unity and he will visit a bilingual school in

jerusalem where arab and together. it's 6:13 right now. accuweather forecast. this is the part of the show where we send meteorologist bill evans outside it deal with the mild temperatures out there for us effort how are you holding up bill? >> we've been out here in 40 miles an hour wind. i'll take this any day. it's cool, crisp, it feels great out here. we're starting out with some winds out of the southwest which is making it warmer here in the overnight hours than normal for this hour of the day, this time of the year. here's a look outside, we're headed towards dawn. sun's coming up. humidities are dry. pressure's falling a little bit, but that's not really a big deal. a cold front is approaching from the west. temperatures are around 56, 57 degrees around the five boroughs, and 52 up the hudson river valley, a little warmer than normal. when you check out these winds out of the southwest at 3 to 12 miles an hour, and ahead of that front, see those wind profiles, that's a warm wind

the sprinkles are above i-80 and right there around i-84. kids at the bus stop need a jacket, need a sweater, it's in the 40s this morning. a little on the chilly side. by afternoon we're going to be well into the 60s. 67 today, which is about 4 or 5 degrees warmer than normal for this time of the year. this front moves through today, makes it brisk and cooler tomorrow. then that next front on saturday brings a real cold shot into sunday when we'll have a hard freeze sunday night. we have baseball into monday morning. there will be frost and that will end the growing season. this weekend looking really good if you want to check out the fall colors, particularly north of the city and northwest getting into parts of new england. it's starting to peak out in the catskills, beautiful fall viewing weather for the leaves this weekend. cubs at mets saturday night. tomorrow night temperature 49

this morning the mets are one step closer to playing in the world series after a nail biter game. when it was dope the mets -- done the mets walked away victorious, a series that came down to the very end. the mets were quick to celebrate as they advanced to the championship series. the team swarmed the field to chanteds of let's go mets. we'll bring you new fan reaction and a live report at

6:30. and on the money this morning, dow jones starts the day up 217 points at 17141. nasdaq composite and s&p 500 also began up more than 1%. futures are up right now. the asian stocks were mostly higher today, japan's nikkei and hong kong's hang seng closed up a fraction. the final u.s. airways flight will depart from philadelphia and return to the city tomorrow under a new american airlines banner. flight 1939 was named for the founding year of u.s. airways after its departure u.s. airways planes will officially become part of the american airlines fleet. and happening today, former speaker of the house dennis hastert is expected to plead guilty in a federal hush money case. hastert allegedly agreed to pay a man more than $3 million to cover up allegations of sexual misconduct. it dates back to his time as a

the prospect expressway have a disabled vehicle. very heavy delays as you go all the way back to at least 79th street. then we're taking a look at what's happening on the cross county parkway east of new rochelle. an accident with a downed pole. a bit of a delay. bedford now you're going to find this closure on 22. it has closed down both directions near gordon avenue. again, all lanes are closed down as a result of that. 30 minutes inbound at the lincoln tunnel, our street cleaning rules are in effect. lori and david over to you. thank you. mets fans will be pretty tired at work or at school today after a night of celebrating the amazins big win against the dodgers. >> i like to joke, a chase utley joke, the mets heading to the national league championship series against the cubs. the mets were down 2-1 in the 4th inning when a shift in the dodgers infield gave the hero of this game, daniel murphy a chance to get to 3rd.

he tied the game and wasn't done yet. murphy's home run in the 6th pushed the mets ahead and the dodgers never recovered. >> fortunately i didn't miss it. that's the only way to describe it. he makes so few mistakes that i just didn't miss it, and that was -- as far as was it going to be the winner, there was a lot of prayer going on out there. >> well, he didn't miss it, and the dodgers didn't score again s if that's what happens. mets celebrated on the field after winning 3-2. and mayor de blasio sent out this tweet in reference to the bet that he had made with los angeles mayor eric garcetti, hey, eric garcetti you're going to look real good in that mike piazza mets jersey and this is a picture of mayor de blasio showing his pride for israel. dray clark is live at citi field in queens with pumped up reaction from fans. >> reporter: good morning.

up winners this morning feeling really good after the amazins put on quite a show last night beating the dodgers in dramatic fashion on dodger territory. that big win allowing them to advance to the national league championship series. let's go ahead and take you inside mcfadden's last night where thousands of fans were gathered. this really was the hub for mets mania. a few thousand fans going crazy after watching the mets advance. a lot of high fives and big hugs. the dodgers of course kept mets fans humble early on after they took the lead. once it became apparent that the mets were going to bounce back and take control of the game and advance to win, the place went crazy. fans say the dodgers are now behind us. bring on the cubs. let's get this series started. >> got a long ways to go, nobody expected us to get this far. i'm not worried about the cubs. the cubs can wait another 100 years.

tossed her 6-month-old baby from a window. 27-year-old tenisha fearon was in the apartment with four children at the time. kala rama at the police precinct with more. >> reporter: tenisha fearon is being held here at the 46th precinct being charged with second degree murder after police say she dangled, then dropped her 6-month-old baby from her 6 story window of had her apartment shouting about the devil and the world coming to an end. she had three other children in that apartment. they're all now in protective custody. this is 27-year-old tenisha fearon. they kicked down the door of her apartment and found her with three other children. she was described by officers as emotionally disturbed and was first brought to the hospital for evaluation. two girls 4 and 8 and a 10-year- old boy were all found naked lying in a circle. they were not physically hurt but all three children could hear their mother screaming

the world before dropping their baby sister 6-month-old janiylah lawrence from that window. there were a number of witnesses below who say they pleaded with fearon to not drop the baby. >> i just was like please please please relax, relax, stop stop stop please please please don't don't don't. and right after that she just dropped the baby. after she dropped the baby, i got out of the house, ran to the roof and i was just looking in her face and saying please because she had other kids. >> reporter: terrible situation for her to see there. we did some digging and found out that the boyfriend of fearon is also the father of that 6-month-old baby girl as well as the 4-year-old girl. they do live together but he was not home at the time. no word on any additional charges being filed at this time. we're live in the tremendous hospital section tremont section of the bronx, kala rama. there's new video that may

help investigators piece together lamar odom's time at a brothel before he was rushed to the hospital. radar online has released surveillance video that allegedly shows odom taking pills at the love ramp on sand. police say the former laker was on cocaine, alcohol and herbal stimulants when he was found unconscious at the legal brothel on tuesday. metta world peace says he's sending prayers to his childhood friend. they've known each other since they were youth basketball players in queens. >> we just grew up together, all played on the same team since we was 13 years old. got drafted together in the same year. we just want him to do well and want, you know, we just want him to get better. >> odom's daughter tweeted this picture with the caption please don't leave us. stay with eyewitness news on the air and online for updates

heather i'd give it an a for excellent. >> nice. doesn't make sense but good. let's go right up to news copter 7. we have john del giorno up above with details of what is going on in brooklyn. good morning to you john. >> reporter: good morning heather. the problem we've got in brooklyn is a disabled bus on the inbound gowanus expressway. live pictures here from news copter 7. you can see police have just pulled up behind that bus which broke down on the left lane inbound gowanus expressway just past industry city. is still blocked. no tow truck on the scene. we're not sure if there's any passengers on the bus. it has been out here for 15 that's all it takes. delays now. allow extra time if you're coming across the verrazano or lower brooklyn. >> we're going to go over to our maps and tell you that mass transit is a great alternate. metro north we have track work on the new haven line. subways are running on or close to schedule.

chilling new video of an engine falling off a plane during takeoff in south america. a passenger on the air bus recorded the engine casing peeling off as the plane sped down the runway in santiago chile. the pilot was able to quickly turn around and safely land. investigators now looking into the incident. new this morning, a complete about face for police investigating that report of a man throwing a flaming molotov cocktail at yes yeshiva university students. police say that miles was not targeting the students.

allegedly was throwing a fire bomb at a store owner who had insulted him and dumped a cup of coffee on him. raids in two hotels in new york city end with five people under arrest. the hotels being used as frontings for brothels. officers carried out raids at the new farington hotel in flushing queens and the sunny 39 hotel in sunset park brooklyn. the sex trafficking had gotten so bold prostitutes openly soliciting potential johns on the street. >> i'm so happy to see it cleaned up. it's a real big problem. it makes the quality of life better here. >> the raid's part of a probe by the brooklyn d. a. with help from the fbi and homeland security. it is 6:44. good morning america is up next. let's check in with ms. robin roberts. >> thank you. good morning to you. happy friday. we've got a cable news guest commentator in trouble with the feds for lying about hiss ties

real feel. mets, cubs, citi field tomorrow night. first pitch temperature right around 50 degrees. to 20. weekend. they're really good up above i- 80 in northern jersey to i-287. you're talking about rocklin, westchester into fairfield county above the merritt parkway looking good. national weather service put out its winter forecast citing that the el nino is going to be a big factor. here's the winter forecast if you like those sorts of things. looks like it's going to be wetter above normal precipitation chances and above normal temperatures. that's synonymous in line with an el nino type of season for the winter. that means winter which means more in the way of precipitation. it means warmer which means rain. more rain than snow in an el nino season. 67 degrees today. we're looking at sunshine and mild weather this afternoon. tonight 38 in the suburbs, 48 in the city. tomorrow sun and clouds. 56 degrees.

here's what we know. we have a report of a fire alarm activation inside a restaurant in terminal c. we can see some emergency vehicles down there. we're told this is right near gate 91 and there's been a fire sprinkler activation inside that restaurant. crews are on the scene trying to get the sprinkles shut off. it does not appear at least from up here right now that any flights are being affected. we can actually show you around the terminal a little bit here in one of the main hallways that connect terminal c. we can see passengers pretty much moving about. the terminal has not been evacuated. we've seen arrivals and departures but the fire department still working on what's been reported as a small fire in a restaurant. the sprinkler has been activated and so far no injuries to be reported. thank you for that. we're also going to talk about our rails and our subways are running on or close to schedule, no may job problems there. metro north new haven line, we have ongoing track work.

it is 6:57. crews are battling a small fire at a restaurant at newark airport. >> news copter 7 is overhead. let's get the latest from john del giorno. >> reporter: that's right. we're still getting informs. it doesn't sound like flight operations have been disrupted. we're at terminal c at newark liberty airport. a fire alarm was activated about 20 minutes ago inside a restaurant in terminal c by gate 90. we know a sprinkler was activated as well. you can see port authority and newark fire on the scene. no injuries reported and we can

see through the windows here. it looks like passengers have not been evacuated from the terminal as far as we know flight operations have not been disrupted. we're live over newark airport, john del giorno channel 7 eyewitness news. >> thank you. there's more breaking news in newark where police have found a 4-year-old boy wandering the streets. >> officers found him at central avenue and south 12th street. the child is in university hospital being checked out. police say they have not yet been able to find the boy's parents. the child is back safe. the mets are bringing the post season back to new york as they continue on the road to the world series. >> what a game. this morning they're one step closer to playing in the world series after a nail biter last night. when it was done the mets walked away victorious 3-2 win last night in los angeles. let the celebration begin. the series that came down to the very end, the mets quick to celebrate as they advance to the championship series. mets play the cubs tomorrow night at citi field.
