over towards sullivan county below freezing. white plains, rocklin county, 39. west orange 40. by the time we get to lunchtime, we're looking at 56. 59 later on today, which is right at 60 which is our normal high temperature this time of the year. we'll talk about the world series weather. we've got halloween, we've got a little marathon going on. all that to talk about, and traffic's going to play a big part in that too. >> absolutely. and mass transit should play a big part in your life if you're going to be traveling around the area this weekend. here we are with the george washington bridge. you don't want to travel on the upper level. that's because we have an accident on the cross bronx expressway eastbound right on the alexander bridge. as far as mass transit goes i can tell you everything is running on or close to schedule. this includes our subways. we have alternate side of the street parking rules in effect for today. the big moment is almost here, game 1 of the world

series is tonight in kansas city. >> and the mets and their fans are ready. the first pitch is scheduled for 8:00 tonight, and eyewitness news reporter rob nelson traveled to kansas city for the big game. he's joining us live. >> reporter: good morning guys, and greetings from a kind of rainy kansas city early on this morning. we are just a mere 14 hours away from the game, but who's counting. no matter what just like back at home the excitement is beginning to build. the big day is finally here. take a look at some video. this is from yesterday here. the mets are back in the fall classic for the first time in 15 years and could once again win it all for the first time since 86. yesterday the blue and orange once again hit the field in kc for some workout time. 7:00 my time, 8:00 yours. yesterday was also media day here which gives players chance to interact with reporters from around the world.

they even posted a few selfies from the day. it's all smiles of course in those pictures. you can tell the guys were really enjoying and savoring this moment. they also know come tonight there is plenty of work to do and of course a championship to bring home to new york city. >> we still realize that it's a baseball game and for me this is another start. obviously it's a start on a different level but, you know, it's still baseball. >> you know what, it's the world series and the new york mets have made it to the world series. that's not our end game. we're going to do everything we can to win this. >> yes indeed. now like i mentioned at the top of the hit here, obviously a little bit of rain here. it is supposed to rain all day here in kansas city. fingers cross that had will not impact the game in terms of any kind of delay. we're watching the forecast here pretty closely. it is going to be a messy day for all of you new yorkers who

we're expecting thousands of people will come here to attend the wake for officer randolph holder here at greater allen a.m.e cathedral. last night all across the city more than 50 of the nypd police precincts there was a vigil held. they stood for 37 minutes, 37 because officer holder was 33 years old and the fourth member of the nypd killed in the line of duty this past year. a weaning a officer hold -- a week ago officer holder was shot and killed while pursuing a suspect in east harlem. his killer was arrested shortly after the shooting. >> those are angels. they go out. they put their lives on the line for strangers not knowing if they're going to return home. they still come out daily and do this, and if we have to appreciate them and support them. >> when the cops are out of

uniform, they're the same people as us, you know, we should respect one another. >> reporter: tyrone howard, the man accused of taking officer holder's life could make a court appearance sometime later on today when he will face that murder indictment. meanwhile, we are expecting thousands of people to be here at greater allen a.m.e cathedral. among those who will be here mayor de blasio as well as police commissioner bratton. we should also note the holder family met privately with governor cuomo last night. we're live in jamaica queens this morning, dray clark channel 7 eyewitness news. thank you. and again, the viewing for officer holder will be held today at the greater allen a.m.e cathedral. his funeral will be tomorrow afternoon at 3. reverend al the holder family to speak. this morning, a 1st grader

this hour, we're looking at a few clouds. the clouds sheared off from all of this rain from what is left over from hurricane patricia. that will be sliding away from kansas city missouri. the baseball game will be fine for this evening. for us we've got a good day before that rain gets here tomorrow. noontime temperature 53. 59 degrees this afternoon right at 60 which is our normal high, and the berries of huckle will be at your bus stop today. it's a little breezy. it's a little chilly. watch out for the one in green, el grubo. >> it's her welsh name. it's chilly. grab a jacket or sweater. >> just so you know you have green your in your hat too. >> i do. >> talking about yourself. >> let's go to the george washington bridge and talk about what's going on there. you can see it is bumper-to- bumper, especially across that upper level moving left to right going into the city.

we'll head to our maps and once again you're bumper-to-bumper. you're jammed across the span going inbound. this is because of an accident on the cross bronx expressway. it's eastbound. the accident is blocking the center lane. we also have the manhattan bridge, manhattan bound lower level. that's a disabled vehicle. mass transit times, long island railroad, new jersey transit doing fine. metro north just have the track work on the new haven branch. subways doing okay. and we have alternate side of the street parking rules in effect. still ahead on eyewitness news this morning, new video police want you to see in an effort to track down a group of suspects posed as police officers and forcing their way into victims' homes. >> we're following the latest developments after a devastating earthquake struck

6:13, and new this morning, video just released by the nypd showing three men wanted for passing themselves off as police officers. the group allegedly tricked their way into several bronx apartments back on october 9th at 3:30 in the morning. they handcuffed the tenants and then took their cell phones. one of the crooks wore a police shield around his neck. if you can identify any of the men please call police.

this morning the death toll in the powerful earthquake that hit afghanistan has passed the 300 park. more than 230 of the dead are in pakistan. resecures having trouble reaching some remote regions. helicopters have brought in supplies to help affected families as well as rescue workers. more than 2,000 people were injured. 6:14. time to get a check on your accuweather forecast. >> meteorologist bill evans live outside our studios on the upper west side. >> it's just a really nice cool, crisp morning like it was this time yesterday. clear skies, a little light breeze. feels great. here's a look from our live cameras. over to the lower east side you'll sigh we've got a really nice clear visibility. 46 degrees, a dry humidity at 66% and the pressure has been rising. 30.54. we just always say 30.00 is our mark of fair weather and it's at 30.54. that's strong high pressure out of canned over the northeast and new england. it feels are in the 40s this morning, 46 up towards the

you need the coats and sweaters and scarfs and all that. a little wind that's coming in northeast down to east, clouds are starting to stream up. the high level clouds are coming in off the tops of these showers. that's the remnants of what was hurricane patricia. the rain reaches from kansas city missouri and the western part of the state where they're getting some sprinkles. the low keeps moving northeast. that rain will move away from kansas city missouri and will continue to keep moving into the ohio valley. after school today, a great day kiddos. we've got nice weather for after school sports. might want to wear one more layer underneath the uniform. today we're at 59 with cloudy skies. tomorrow you'll need your rain gear all day. you've got sports tomorrow, that's probably going to get canceled. we have 1 to 2 inches of heavy rain tomorrow and the temperature around 66. baseball in kansas city 56 temperature at first pitch time around 8:00. halloween kids.

the dow jones starts the day down 23 points at 17623. nasdaq composite and s&p 500 are mixed. u.s. stock futures are pointing to a lower open. >> overnight japan's nikkei lost nearly 1 percent while hong kong's hang seng gained a fraction. >> the sporting good chain rei wants you to enjoy your thanksgiving turkey and thinks would be a good idea if you went outdoors and saw a real turkey. rei is going to be closed for thanksgiving and is saying no to black friday shopping as well. they're the first to be built in the united states in more than 20 years. the first white red and blue camaros are now rolling off the gm assembly line. the last time chevy built a camaro in the u.s. was back in 1992. the new v6 and v8 models should be in showrooms by the end of

we're going to be looking at temperatures later on getting into lunchtime about 53 degrees at lunch and 59 this afternoon. right at normal which is 60 for this time of the year. big rain for tomorrow, big weather weekend coming up because we've got halloween, the marathon, world series. >> right. >> and you've got troubles on the cross bronx expressway. >> i have trouble there is, yes, i do. we have news copter 7 up above and john del giorno is showing us this mess on the cross bronx expressway. it's off on the shoulder. it was in the center lane. with this comes a big mess. we have delays on the cross bronx eastbound stretching all the way back to the george washington bridge. inbound george washington bridge with about a 15 minute delay getting into the polls at this point. as long as this is there that delay is going to get worse. street cleaning rules are in effect. over to you. thank you heather.

those numbers are a little warmer. look at poughkeepsie, 30, 32 at monticello and andover. we're looking at 56 by noontime, 59 this afternoon. a great fall day before the deluge hits tomorrow. we'll talk about that in your accuweather seven-day forecast. it's weather then heather every 7 minutes. >> an accident pushed off to the shoulder, we have john del giorno in news copter 7. any new news there in. >> not so much. the accident has been pushed on to the shoulder. it happened about a half hour ago. initially this accident was blocking the two center lanes on the alexander hamilton bridge. the livery cab was spun sideways. both these vehicles have been cleared to the shoulder. the damage is done. the delays go back across the george washington bridge. northbound the inbound delays probably 15 to 20 minutes. >> actually those delays are getting worse.

of the sports world as the mets try to get their first world series since 1986. this is the mets on the field of course practicing there. they took the field here in kc yesterday for one of their final workouts before game 1 starts about 8:00 eastern time tonight. the team has had an amazing post season run and they're hoping that hard work pays off with a championship win. this is the second straight year the royals have made it to the fall classic. locals here excited yet again. we know plenty of mets fans, the orange and blue faithful will make their way here tonight to route on their team. yesterday during media day, reporters from around the world were able to talk with players of both teams. guess what they are having a lot of fun as well. >> it's been fun. a great group of guys. we play great baseball together. we're in the world series and it has truly been a great deal of fun.

where fans of all ages rallied in min you la chanting let's go mets to queens where thousands turned out decked out in their best blue and orange gear. here's something interesting also to note, a little bit of rob's echo, this year's world series begins on the 29th anniversary of the night the 1986 world series ended. you can imagine the energy that's been mounting for diehard fans. it's making some lose sleep. >> i haven't slept in around two and a half weeks. that's what's running through my heart. the adrenaline that's going through my body is at the highest peak it has been since 1986. >> reporter: those world series logos will be painted here on the field at citi field later this morning. and again, game 1, the first pitch starts tonight 8:07. we're live outside citi field,

morning fallen nypd officer randolph holder. last night there were vigils outside more than 50 precincts in all five boroughs of the city. they held 37 minutes of silence, four for the number of city cops killed this past year and 33 for officer holder's age. outside each precinct community, residents and law enforcement stood shoulder to shoulder. >> at the end of the day, these are individuals that come from our household, our brothers, our sisters, uncles, cousins they've got to be treated like human beings. we as a community wanted to make sure we deliver that message. they are human beings first does they're doing a job to keep us protected. >> police divers have found the gun used to shoot holder, the accused killer tyrone howard is due back in court today for a hearing. officer holder's viewing today will be at the greater allen aim cathedral from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. his funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon and officer holder will be buried in his native guyana. a deadly shooting at a grandson station in irvington.

investigators believe that the 57-year-old victim was a worker at the getty station. the shooting happened just before 8 last night. no arrests have been made. this morning an apparent gang related attack in downtown brooklyn, a shooting is prompting action. 16-year-old amare henkins of queens was killed and an 18- year-old wounded. witnesses say the shooting started after some sort of argument between two groups of young people. no arrests brooklyn borough president eric adams is holding a news conference to address gun violence. you're never more than 7 minutes away from weather and traffic. >> some big old big time rain is coming our way. here's our camera in midtown, a great day for today until that rain gets here. we're looking at what's going to be the rain from just south

of d. c., cincinnati down south coming up north. that's the leftover remnants of patricia. today we're going to be looking at a nice moon dropping behind manhattan and temperatures have been around 46 degrees. it's a bit on the cool side to start the day. we'll be looking at what's going to be temperatures today, as the temperatures go into the afternoon we're going to be getting near 60 degrees i bet you. heather's looking at your commute. >> i want to show you what's happening on the northern state parkway, the l.i.e. getting into the northern state parkway. you're going to find a lot of activity over here because of an accident in the process of being cleared away. we'll head to our maps now. i can tell you that mass transit is running on or close to schedule, except for your subways, a and c trains rail conditions at j street, metro tech. expect downtown delays as well. 15 at the lincoln and holland, and then you have that accident on the cross bronx expressway east right on the alexander hamilton bridge.

it is a tough morning for the deli owner at 1st avenue and 49th street. a taxicab crashed into the front doors about 2:30 this morning. at the same moment two cars were totaled in a head on wreck at the same intersection. taxi driver was not seriously hurt but one car driver was taken to the hospital in serious condition. the other driver is now in police custody on suspicion of drunk driving.

prosecutors now say that the woman charged in the oklahoma state university home coming tragedy appears to have driven into the crowd on purpose. adacia chambers is being held on $1 million bail. she's also been ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation. prosecutors say chambers ran a red light, went around a barricade, and then drove over a police motorcycle before hitting a grown up of people saturday. four died. chambers faces four counts of second degree murder. the man who posted a video of himself tampering with red light cameras is due in a long island courtroom today. steven ruth says the camera system in suffolk county is abusive giving tickets when none are observed. some suffolk county legislators have sided with ruth saying the camera system seems to snag innocent drivers. new york city says it will offer the s. a. t. exam free of

today, normal high temperature is 60. sun's up just after 7:15, 7:20. we'll have a beautiful sunrise. a cloudy sunset is coming up. for your headlines, is that today's kind of nice fall day. we've got a rainy day tomorrow and then some great fall weather coming up for friday and the weekend just in time for the fall classic. temperatures in the 40s. we're looking at 30 towards poughkeepsie and kingston. 42 around bridgeport. temperatures that are right at normal for this hour of the day and a little northeast to a southeast wind has been coming in today but very light. you see the high clouds over us. that's sheared off the upper level winds down south for that big batch of rain from patricia. that will keep moving northward. this is our futurecast. clouds late in the day today. here comes the rain tomorrow morning around 8:00 in southern jersey, 9:00 as it hits the city and overspreading through midday and early afternoon. a couple areas of red popping up where there could be a rumble of thunderstorm in some of this, a thunderstorm tomorrow particularly in the

afternoon and evening commute and we clear out tomorrow night. the futurecast is showing that front moving through late. that will give us the cooler drier air coming up towards friday. expected rainfall totals an inch to an inch and a half. you can see on our computer models that would be all day tomorrow and into tomorrow night. after school today it's about 59 degrees and cloudy skies. this morning grab a jacket or a sweater at the bus stop. 59 today. we've got cloudy skies by afternoon, rain comes in tomorrow morning around 8, 9:00, lasts through the day. heaviest in the afternoon. great baseball weather. first pitch temperature 56, a few showers in kansas city missouri just prior to the game. it will be great weather for baseball. halloween's looking good, clear skies and cool, 5:00 temperature about 52. it will cool down during the evening saturday night. we're at 59 degrees today with sunshine, clouds late in the day. tonight we're at 53 with cloudy skies.

it's a rainy day off and on all day long, an inch to 2 inches of much needed rain. we are way low on rain. i don't expect -- maybe in some intersections on roadways and then 73 on thursday and we cool down. we have gorgeous weather this weekend for baseball, halloween, and the new york marathon on sunday. >> all right. exciting. thank you bill. >> there you go. >> all right. 6:48. we'll go over to heather with news copter 7. >> up above this big mess we've been dealing with over the cross bronx, george washington bridge combination. we'll check in one more time with john del giorno. >> good morning again heather. we actually swung down here to routes 1 and 9 in newark new jersey. we have a new problem, on truck route 1 and 9 northbound just as you get on to the passaic river bridge. traffic here extra heavy because the pulaski skyway is out of commission. all that traffic coming up and now we've got an accident in the middle of all of that. only the right lane is open.

this delay goes back on to the main line of 1 and 9 north away from newark airport. also keep in mind we've got exiting delays as a result at 15e on the new jersey turnpike. heather. >> thank you for that john. see john's so fast. let's take a look and show you long island. this is the l.i.e. near exit 58 and then another shot of the l.i.e. getting into exit 42 which is the northern state connector. you see that accident there. we'll head to our maps. i'll tell you what's going on on the l.i.e., the first one west near exit 58, that accident being cleared away and the other is on the l.i.e. westbound near exit 42. with this accident being cleared. a and lc traipse, rail condition at j street. expect downtown delays. our other mass transit systems are doing okay. you're jammed across the span. lincoln is 30, holland is 15 minutes. we have that accident being cleared cross bronx east on the alexander hamilton bridge.

them back ward on to the floor. then he yanks the student out of the desk and throws her to the front of the classroom. the sheriff says the student was disruptive in class and had refused to leave. >> what we saw was just a tidbit of what that video shows. of course we're going to look at what happened that led up to it, that incident that took place and then what happened afterwards. all of that's going to take part in what the sheriff decides. >> the resource officer is now on administrative leave pending an investigation. sheriff's officials say the girl was taken into custody for resisting arrest. 6:54, coming up, it is time for the mets to meet the royals.
