subway status, we had earlier problems on the 4 trains, grand concourse repaired. expect residual delays. southern state parkway exit 30 vehicle fire has been extinguished. traffic is easing up. great at the east river crossings. alternate side of the street parking rules in effect. ken and lori, over to you. >> heather, thank you. developing in brooklyn, a woman and her boyfriend are dead and the woman's daughter is in custody. >> the couple was found inside an apartment last night on batchelder street in sheepshead bay. eyewitness news reporter kristin thorne is live at the scene. >> reporter: ken and lori, police say the 15-year-old girl, the woman's daughter implicated herself in the murders. she has not been formally charged but is being questioned. bodies of the 39-year-old woman and her boyfriend were found inside the apartment on
batchelder street in sheepshead bay yesterday evening. the woman was shot multiple times. the man was shot and stabbed. the woman's body found in the bedroom of the apartment. the man's body found in the kitchen. it's believed that they were killed december 27th. again, the woman police say implicated herself in the murders and they are looking at the possibility that someone else was involved in these killings. live in sheepshead morning, kristin thorne, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> kristin, thank you. a vehicle from an arrest on long island is connected to a murder in virginia. police in freeport say plate readers lead them to a stolen vehicle. when officers pulled the vehicle over, they found this man, tremaine williams behind the wheel. officers found a loaded m-4 assault rifle in the car. detectives say the vehicle he was driving is part of a homicide investigation.
president obama plans to meet with attorney general loretta lynch to discussion what actions he could take to reduce gun violence. tomorrow he is expected to announce executive actions to strengthen background checks. thursday night he will participate in a town hall meeting to talk about reducing gun violence. critics criticize the congress. as we head into the colder part of the year, andrew cuomo wants to protect the homeless.it does not provide additional funding to help communities house homeless people. tomorrow the temperature is forecasted to drop below freeze being tomorrow. some homeless people don't like the order because they are harassed in shelters. now to a developing story. the man whose arson case
triggered the armed stand off in oregon is set to surrender. city vin hammond and his father dwight will turn themselves in today. more than 100 armed protestors are holed up in burns, oregon. members say they will remain peaceful as long as the government does not entire fear. >> if he -- interfere. >> we are not putting anybody in danger, harming anybody. >> the group is angry with what it calls the government's failed legal pro sets. in san bernardino, the offices are expected to reopen today. syed farook and his wife went on a rampage during a holiday luncheon that killed 14 people and wounded 21 others. they decide in a shoot out with

by the river. 25 people killed. the new danger is in tennessee, arkansas and mississippi. chris brown may take legal action against a woman accusing him of assault. brown's publicist claims the woman became disruptive after being escorted out of a private party. he received 5 years probation for assaulting former girlfriend rihanna. the latest on the breaking story in the bronx. a mcdonald's worker stabbed to death overnight.

it happened at broadway and west 236th? kingsbridge. police say the worker got in a dispute with another man at 4:30 this morning. the other man, a 28-year-old worker got stabbed in the chest by the man. the worker pronounced dead at the hospital. the suspect is a man in his mid- 30s wearing a hoodie and blue jeans. we will bring you a live report when the crew arrives. a teenage girl [ inaudible ] kristin thorne is live on the scene. >> reporter: police are on the scene. they say a 39-year-old woman was shot several times. her boyfriend, a 40-year-old man was shot and stabbed several times. they both were no r pronounced dead at the scene. the woman's daughter, a 15-year- old girl police say implicated herself in the murders and she is in police custody.

people are dead after the quake struck the northeast region of the country. more than 100 people were injured. it damaged a nuclear of buildings leaving huge cracks in walls and caused part of a market to collapse. a gun battle in afghanistan. a gunman that tried to storm the consulate is holed up in a nearby building firing rockets and automatic weapons. there are reports of new fighting near kabul airport. in india, army forces are trying to kill the last of the gunmen that attacked an air base near the pakistan border. it started early saturday. seven troops are four gunmen were killed so far. a hit and run in new orleans where the victim was dragged for more than six miles. eyewitnesses say they saw the man hit by a black sedan in the french quarter. the car sped away heading at oncoming traffic.
hours later after it was dragged across a mississippi river bridge. fdr in manhattan was shut down sunday following a chain reaction crash that involved three police cars. a driver stopped short around noon on the southbound lanes in east harlem causing the officer driving the first police car to slam on the brakes. he was rear ended by two other police cars and another vehicle that followed close behind. the injuries were minor. new video of the cargo ship that sank last october after getting caught in a hurricane. the ntsb released the video of the ship. it was taken by underwater vehicles. all 38 crew members on board died. they are considering launching another search of the wreckage in hopes of finding the data recorder. mayor de blasio and senator chuck schumer will be spreading the word at the barclay center
the first workday for the commuter benefits law. by one calculation, commuters will save $443 a year off the cost of a monthly metro card. the coldest air mass so farts of the young winter season. tonight coldest night since march 6th. a warm up to midweek and by the end of the week in the upper 40s. though morning in the upper 20s. windchills are manager teens. it's a cold morning. winds out of the north, 10, 12, 16 miles per hour. this is the coldest dense air of the planet. windchill is 10 around brooklyn where it's cold with the wind coming in. 20s are the common windchill. that's how it will feel all day. we will get there could be flurries particularly north and west getting squeezed out. the temperature keeps dropping into the teens to single digits north and west. tomorrow we will start off in the 20s, back to 30 for one more day. the windchills keep dropping.

dray clark just arrived at the scene. what do we know. >> reporter: good morning. ken. the 28-year-old mcdonald's worker was stabbed multiple times in the torso and later died. you can see the restaurant at 236 and broadway wrapped in crime scene tape. detectives are inside the restaurant where we believe the stabbing happened. there was some type of dispute between the worker and unidentified suspect. the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed that worker in the torso multiple times. the worker was rushed to nearby new york press by tear yale hospital where he was pronounced dead. police are looking nor that suspect. coincidentally, this mcdonald's is across the street from the 50th police precinct. police were hear almost instantly after getting the
