good morning, i'm ken rosato. >> i'm michelle charlesworth in for lori stokes. thank you for being with us. happy wednesday, january 6th. you are never more than seven minutes away from weather and traffic and meteorologist bill evans with the accuweather forecast. >> we take a look from our camera in asbury park down the beach today. not a bad idea for a walk on the boardwalk. a little walk down the beach. yesterday we were at 12. it's 26 now. this feels better. it's warmer. look at westhampton. when the sky is clear, the winds are calm, the temperature drops off. 29 degrees warmer at east hampton. brookhaven 16, 17. 14 islip. 10 up around poughkeepsie and 17 white plains to rockland county. with a calm wind, it's not harsh, temperatures will warm up quick. we hit 35 at lunchtime. close to 40 later on this afternoon. it gets warmer. we will talk about that in the accuweather forecast coming up. weather and traffic every seven

>> happy wednesday to you. let's go to a camera and show you what is going on going to the george washington bridge. you can see we have a lot of delays across the upper level. you are bumper to bumper. lower level a much better bet if you can go there. let's go to the maps. i facebooked this. cross bronx at the alexander hamilton bridge, that accident. two lanes are closed down. as you saw from that camera, we are backed up to the george washington bridge. getting in to the tolls, a minor delay. then again, you have the accident in the bronx. so, the upper level is starting to jam up. lincoln and holland tunnels are doing fine. mass transit times on or close to schedule. then the deegan, going to the northbound side of yankee stadium, a disabled vehicle being cleared away causing a delay on to the northbound side. alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect. ken, over to you. breaking news in the bronx. a body has been found at the

woman. that discovery was made early this morning in baychester. 39-year-old andrea caruth has been missing since sunday. mallory hoff has the new information from the last half hour. >> reporter: ken, that's right. investigators have been in and out of the house just in the last few minutes. what we know now is that the body of a woman was discovered at 3:00 this morning. we are told investigators were in the basement when they made the discovery. letter take a look at this video. what investigators have not confirmed is whether or not they have, in fact, found the woman that they were looking for. andrea caruth is 39 years old, five months pregnant. crime scene arrived at her home last night. her best friend said caruth sent her a text message inviting her to sunday brunch. when she didn't show, her boyfriend reported she was gone. she left nearly everything she owns behind.

her scent through the neighborhood. operators of the day care center say there is where she operated the day care out of her home. last night investigators went through the house again. they are focusing on the backyard. >> she is not the type of person to up and leave like that. she is an established day care provider. she would not a ban done her kids, her students at all. she loved those kids. she loved her job. >> investigators say they have no suspects at this time but we do know that they are in the process of speaking to that woman's boyfriend at a local precinct. this is an active and ongoing investigation. live in the bronx, mallory hoff, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> all right, thank you. now to a developing story we have been telling you about overseas. north korea's claim that it conducted a successful test of a hydrogen bomb. new video of north korean

announcement on state run television. nothing has been confirmed but the north called the test a perfect success. the u.n. security council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the report. a live report with new details on how world leaders are reacting. a sketch is out of the man wanted for stabbing a mcdonald's worker in the bronx. the man what be homeless. he was seen on a street surveillance camera. the victim, adam garcia was the manager of the restaurant in the kingsbridge section. of the they say he followed garcia into the parking lot after a dispute and killed garcia, the father of a young child. there are questions this morning about how police reacted to a reported threat against elementary school students. a threat allegedly made by a 9- year-old. police in wallkill arrested at child charging him with making terror ristick threats. they were made by phone against

>> i don't think they should have treated him as harshly as they did. he's 9 years old. i can understand 14, 15, 16- year-old, they know more about what they are doing. >> the student was released to the custody of one of his parents. the school believes to the extent there was a threat it is over. a man convicted of a triple murder in a newark schoolyard wants a new trial. prosecutors say they attacked four men in a schoolyard. three were killed. a judge has scheduled a hearing next month for the two to testify. there is an arraignment for the california man who supplied the weapons used in the san bernardino massacre. 14 people died in the attack by syed farook and tashfeen malik. enrique marquez junior will face indictment today.

he is in federal custody and is being held without bail. the republican lead house committee investigating the benghazi attack holds a closed door hearing. they will talk petraeus. the committee grilled hillary clinton about that deadly attack for 11 hours last october. a massachusetts judge granted camille cosby's motion to delay her deposition. it was scheduled for today in the case against her husband bill cosby. she filed an emergency motion monday to delay the deposition. bill cosby is being sued by seven women who claim he drugged and sexually assaulted each in the past. many for defamation. you are never more than seven minutes away from weather and traffic and beginning with bill evans and the accuweather forecast.

opening bell. the dow starts at 17,158. the nasdaq begins -- s&p 500 were mixed. hong kong hang seng index lost more than 200 points. fish lovers slammed trader joe's accusing the chain of treating customers by not filling the 5-ounce can of tuna to a full 5 ounces. u.s. government labs found that the tuna contained less than 3 ounces of fish even though the kansas 5 ounces. a spokesperson for trader joe's says the company does not comment on pending litigation. china is doing a new series of postage stamps to celebrate the reform pole of allowing couples to have two children. allowed one child.

accident in the bronx cleared. linton 20. holland tunnel a 10-minute delay. long island railroad, new jersey transit, metro north doing fine. no major problems. subway service is on or close. alternate side of the street parking rules are in effect today. we are following breaking news in the bronx. early this morning a woman's body was found inside the home of a missing pregnant woman. >> 39-year-old andrea caruth has been mallory hoff is live with the new information happening overnight. >> reporter: michelle, ken, we know that the boyfriend of that missing woman is in the process of speaking with investigators. police said the discovery of the body was made at 3:00 in the morning in the basement of that missing pregnant woman's home. the body is of a woman. police have not said if it is the woman that they have been looking for.

-north korea says it tested a hydrogen bomb. there was a significant seismic event near the test site. dray clark is live at the united nations where an emergency meeting will take place today. >> reporter: it's only a claim out of north korea. it's a claim that the u.n. security council is taking serious. they are holding an emergency meeting later this morning at 11:00 at the u.n. to discuss those developments happening in north korea. north korea conducted nuclear tests in the past. this would be the first time they have done so using a hydrogen bomb. it is wildly believed that north korean president kim jong- un personally ordered the test and signed the order last month. on north korea state television, officials called the detonation a complete success.

that the country had hydrogen capabilities but the claim was met with widespread skepticism. meanwhile, u.s. officials say it could take days or weeks to confirm if the underwater hydrogen bomb detonation happened. in the area of the korean peninsula where the detonation supposedly took place, a magnitude 5.1 seismic event was detected. this is according to the u.s. geological survey. now, some view this test as north korea sending a message to the u.s. which it perceives as a has style country. that message to the u.s. would be that we are defend ourselves against you and, if necessary, we have nuclear capabilities. meanwhile, china, japan and south korea are condemning north korea's alleged actions. live from the u.n., dray clark, channel 7 eyewitness news. sentencing day for a former

county convicted of federal child porn charges. the brian fanelli pled guilty to one count of child pornography. he was accused of using a file sharing network to download pornography involving children as young as 7 years old. he could face 10 years in prison. after 16 years in congress, long island lawmaker steve israel will not seek reelection. he said that he will retire and it's time to pass on the torch. he looks forward to pursuing new passions and writing a second novel. here is an update on breaking news we told you about last night at 11:00. six people including two police officers were sent to the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning. it happened at this home on palisades avenue in union city, new jersey. investigators are trying to figure out the source of the gas.

out inside the home around 8:30 last night. >> anything over 80 parts per million you are in bad shape. this was through the roof. if their family men's didn't come home they wouldn't have survived much longer. >> all six victims are expected to be okay. there were no carbon monoxide detectors in the home. the wheelchair bandit is under arrest after police say he robbed another bank in queens. this is the second time in six months kelvin denison has been arrested for a bank robbery. last week he was discharged from a mental health treatment center. this time he targeted a bank in sunnyside and claimed he was armed with a bomb and gun. in july police say he robbed another bank. happening today, a very high-powered power ball drawing is on tap. tonight's jackpot worth an estimated $450 million. that is the sixth largest ever in north america. the cash option is more than 275 million.

military are deployed overseas it's hard on the family. daughter and dad are being deployed together. hundreds turned out for the farewell ceremony for a national guard unit from new mexico. christa jumped at the chance to serve alongside her father. >> one of his friends deployed with. he asked me to go. he said they needed medics to go. a once in a lifetime opportunity to go with my father. >> having her dad there will take the edge off being deployed in kuwait for nine months. a party we know michelle marked on her calendar. the annual grand snow festival in china where they dance through the snowflakes. millions visit the festival in northeast china every year. this year's event includes an ice castle nearly 170 feet tall. isn't that gorgeous. >> man, that is snow and ice.
