will stay in the mountains or west of the mountains. we could pick up some clouds today. longer-term, warmer temperatures. not bad. we will have details coming up. right now we want to see a traffic is doing. here is sarah caldwell. >> great to see you. traffic is a little busy at this morning. we have a spill on pulaski highway occurred we have a disabled tractor-trailer on the inner loop taking up the right lane. an accident in ellicott city. we also have it water main break in catonsville. several early-morning problems to watch for as your head out on the area roads. no delays this morning. we are still running smoothly on the north side. the rest of the major roadways are in good shape. you can see the disabled tractor-trailer.
it is taking up the right lane. it is not creating any delays. stay to the left. the northwest corner of the beltway is very smooth. it should be throughout the morning. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. back to you. >> three crewmembers of a cruise ship or in federal custody this morning. >> there are charged with smuggling cocaine aboard a royal caribbean ship. kim dacey is live downtown it with the latest. >> a fellow crewmember tipped off authorities after the cruise ship stopped in the dominican republic. agents were waiting when the ships pulled into the port of baltimore. went well creance "enchantment of the seas" told him to baltimore's port, the federal agents were waiting. the ships security of a search
said that if 35-rolled crewmember was possibly smuggling drugs with crew workers. agents met him at the port and found heroin in his pants along with two packages of cocaine. agents say he admitted tsk along with two other crew members that they picked up the drugs from the dominican republic and planned to sell them to contact for $4,000 per agents showed up at the walmart were some variance -- surveillance cameras showed them. he confessed to selling drugs from the dominican republic, drugs which were found on the passenger of the car. the through crewmembers were arrested and charged with conspiracy to import heroin and cocaine, as was a passenger in the car and driver, loxly johnson and shenika graves.

two teenagers charged in a november slaying of the men face new charges today. vincent bunner and shawn johnson have been charged in the shooting death of a convenience store clerk. it happened during an attempted robbery in glen bernie. police are still searching for a third suspect. vincent bunner and shawn johnson face charges. >> age people are recovering after getting sick from the carbon monoxide leak inside southwest baltimore liquor store. it happened yesterday in the 800 block of washington boulevard. all eight were taken to hospital for treatment. no one is seriously ill. no word on the source of that carbon monoxide leak. a startling announcement from the federal government. >> a new study says more
underage drinkers and up in the hospital on new year's day than any other day of the year. kate amara is a washington with the details. >> kids and not all are always a concern. drinking can increase the likelihood of other risky behaviors. it is a statistics so sobering even the study leaders say they were stunned. a new year's day, emergency room visits involving underage drinking are nearly four times higher than an average day. >> i think it is a dangerous time. >> according to a report, on january 1, 2009, 1000 e.r. visits were related to drinking. despite was twice as high as the fourth of july. >> it is tragic and totally

we will take the pressure off the cold temperatures for the next few days with readings above average. we will continue that way. but the temperatures right now. the temperature in parkton is 25 degrees. 27 in edgewood. 25 in easton. cambridge, 19 degrees. westminster, 25. 30 in oakland. out in far western maryland, we could not to use the raider at this case. but to my decent ice out there because it weather system is in the ohio river valley that is generating some precipitation. we have it now. we do see some high thin clouds over us. there are indications in western west virginia, a mixed precipitation and some icing that could be on the roads because they have colder temperatures in the valleys. this precipitation will be hitting the mountains and then being deflected to the north.

good morning. >> investigators say a fellow crewmember tipped off authorities after the cruise ship made the stop in the dominican republic. agents were waiting. when royal carribean's "enchantment of the seas" pulled into baltimore's port after a 12-night cruise on december 18, the federal agents were waiting. federal court documents reveal the ship's security officer told immigration and customs enforcement that gavin excell, a 35-year-old crewmember was possibly smuggling drugs with co-workers. according to a federal affadavit, agents met excell at the port and found heroin in his pants along with two packages of cocaine disguised as shoe insoles. agents say excell admitted that he and two other crew members, kishurn neptune and john garth, picked up the drugs from the dominican republic and planned to sell them to a contact at the port covington walmart for $4,000. agents showed up at the walmart
where surveillance cameras captured images of 27-year-old garth entering and exiting a car. agents say he confessed to selling drugs from the dominican republic, drugs which, according to the affidavit, were found on the passenger of the car. the three crewmembers were arrested and charged with conspiracy to import heroin and cocaine, as were shenika graves, the passenger of the car, and loxly johnson, the driver. the cruise line issued a statement on the bus, telling 11 news, "royal caribbean international maintains a strict zero tolerance policy regarding illeagal drugs on its ships. we take various steps to prevent the transport of the illegal narcotics, including working closing with u.s. customs and border protection. royal caribbean coooperated fully with authorities and will continue providing any assistance necessary to prosecute these individuals to the fullest extent of the law." the "enchantment of the seas"

virginia. in ohio, it is rain. we expect that to be deflected to the north. the question is how much clout as we have during the day today. we start out with temperatures, 32 downtown. 30 in pasadena. white marsh, 29. 28 in columbia. 24 is the low so far, bwi marshall. it is not extremely cold out there at all. nice relief from the past week or two. six of the northern new england. 35 in chicago. temperatures to take a nosedive in the north-central part of the u.s. 15 in rapid city. this green. in the southern plains, texas gulf coast region, that is warm air coming out of the next storm system. it is a cold front.
that warm air will have a trend to move in our direction over the next couple of days. clear skies here. a few high thin clouds. here is the weather disturbance which will have a hard time penetrating this high. it will be deflected to the north. the hype was good weather. we will probably pick up some clouds and some of it tries to move to the peace. the real weather maker will be this developing story at the bottom end of this cold air. we will have to deal with that over the weekend. a mix of sunshine and clouds today. we're not sure what the ratio will be. it will be warmer, at least as warm as yesterday. 46 to 51 is the expected high today. if we see more sunshine, it will be 51. wind about to to 7 miles per hour. that moisture-maker is dissipating into the mountains.
