last summer. her family says she is scheduled to be named officer of the year... next week in anne arundel county... reporting from shock trauma, paul gessler, fox45 morning news. new york police arrest one of their own in connection with the attack on an s-u-v driver. and much of that confrontation was caught on camera. among the group of bikers connected to this video were at least two members of law enforcement -- undercover and off-duty. one of them, 32- year-old n-y-p-d detective wojciech braszczok , now faces felony criminal mischief and riot charges. this viral video shows an s-u-v stopping when surrounded then speeding off, plowing through three motorcyclists. the video later shows a biker bashing through the driver's window with his helmet. the driver was then pulled from the s-u-v and beaten, stomped on as he lay on

the road. police say other video -- not yet made public -- shows the detective among those pounding on the s-u-v. ray kelly / new york police commissioner "we want to continue the investigation, the internal affairs bureau is looking at this and they will continue to do so." police say the undercover detective didn't inform his supervisors about the attack until three days later, telling internal affairs investigators that he was afraid his cover would be blown. police say this viral video also does not show the involvement of another man, 32-year-old clint caldwell, whose arrest was also announced on tuesday. police are revealing new details about the woman shot to death by capitol police after a car chase. we now know that miriam carey was carrying a passport and foreign currency at the time of the incident. authorities found the items in a lockbox inside carey's 2010 nissan infiniti. police shot the 34-year-old last week after they say she rammed barricades and police cruisers during a wild chase. her family says the mother was suffering from

about the safety of your food. nearly 300 people made ill from salmonella poisoning... primarily on the west coast. the source, traced to raw chicken products- from three california plants run by a company called foster farms. the inspectors for those products are from the u-s department of agriculture. are they sitting at home? could this outbreak have started because of the government shutdown? the shutdown has not impacted usda's food safety inspection to any major degree. the vast majority of inspection personnel are still working because congress generally viewed their work as a necessity. and, according to a u-s-d-a official, the investigation into this outbreak started before the government shutdown. experts say the salmonella made it into the marketplace-- simply because some of the naturally- occurring pathogens in chicken slip through sometimes. but the shutdown is drawing another major concern regarding this outbreak-- and it

has to do with the centers for disease control. while poultry inspectors are still on the job, the c-d-c has furloughed a lot of people- which means that the absence of people who could track this salmonella linked to the outbreak- could put us all at risk.") a c-d-c official tells us: many of its scientists who track food-borne pathogens, who were furloughed-- were brought back.. but there was a delay in the exchange of information about the outbreak. that worries food-watchdog groups: is this food getting further into the marketplace and you're not warning people? you know, that you're losing opportunities to warn people not to eat it or to remind people to take care because of salmonella or to figure out, does the outbreak get bigger because we haven't put those pieces together? reporter: another key piece of information we may not be getting is, is this resistant to antibiotics.. right? right- so it's a new thing that we're able to track now, is-- is the salmonella that's making people sick, is that bug gonna respond to the antibiotics you would use to treat it? and it's happened

howard county man... are behind bars this morning... accused of human trafficking. police took the man and a rhode island couple into custody... in two unrelated cases that were reported just days apart. craig anderson has been arrested and charged in the first case. according to charging documents... his alleged victim told police that anderson forced her into prostitution. and gary maddox and amina philip are charged with human trafficking and other offenses... in the second case. bond has been set for all three suspects... ranging from 75-thousand dollars... to 1- million dollars. today was supposed to be "trayvon martin day" at one pennsylvania high school. but after parents complained... the commemoration is canceled. carrick high school in pittsburgh had planned on having students wear hoodies to pay tribute to the late teen as part of spirit week. but after several parents became upset

first on fox... a maryland state trooper remains in critical condition this morning after being hit by a car on a traffic stop this weekend. now ... trooper jackie kline's family is speaking to us exclusively. it has been four days since jackie kline was hit by a car on route 100 in pasadena. she was helping another trooper on a suspected d-u-i stop by catherine avenue. she is in critical condition at shock trauma... with a serious head injury and broken arm... along with other injuries. kline's family in new jersey was called. her mother says at this point.. it's a waiting game. amy kline, mother of trooper: "from this point, it is we wait and see how jackie progresses and see what needs to be done. i don't think there's any option other than we're gonna wait here until she gets better and she leaves and everything gets back

of attempted assault and gang assault. police believe this is him, opening the driver's door. ...and police believe this is reginald chance, the biker who broke through the driver's window. chance faces charges including gang assault, as does a sixth man connected to this incident: craig wright. andrew spencer, fox45 morning news. philadelphia police are investigating a shocking drug case. investigators say a four year old pre- schooler... brought in 173- dollars and 8 bags of crack cocaine.. and was showing it off t classmates. canine dogs sniffed around for more drugs but nothing else was found. now parents and the community are waiting to hear who gave the cash and drugs to the little boy. if a child were to digest something like that drugs, so it's very concerning. i'm shocked that a kid was able to bring drugs to school we were concerned. we were scared to death when we heard you know a pre-k child.

first on fox... a maryland state trooper remains in critical condition this morning after being hit by a car on a traffic stop this weekend. now ... trooper jackie kline's family is speaking to us exclusively. it has been four days since jackie kline was hit by a car on route 100 in pasadena. she was helping another trooper on a suspected d-u-i stop by catherine avenue. she is in critical condition at shock trauma... with a serious head injury and broken arm... along with other injuries. kline's family in

police say they don't know if the attacker knew that the victim was blind. the father of a 9-year-old... who boarded an airplane without a ticket and flew from minneapolis to las vegas... says his son has a history of behavior problems. just days before his unauthorized trip... the boy allegedly stole a delivery truck... and managed to go about 9 miles... before being stopped by police. according to a report by the minneapolis star tribune... there have been four child protection assessments on the boy's family since 2012. in one report... the director of the hennepin county human services and public health department described him as "challenging". the father claims he's been asking for help since his son was five.
