is the best course of action. we will have that story new on wbtv news at 6:00. but for now we are live in huntersville, dedrick russell wbtv on your side. >> all right thank you. >> we are getting new information in just to the alert center. alex giles has that for us. >> we got information about two suspects arrested for robberies in charlotte. and i can show you the men. the cmpd announced they were arrested for robberies that happened last month in february. this was in southwest charlotte. police say the men were trying to rob people at gun point and they are behind bars charged for the crimes. both facing two counts of robbery and two counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. >> thank you. strange story... bond denied for a south carolina charged with murder after two bodies were found at his home. officers were called to the home of james lofton saturday night.
he claimed to have killed two people and buried them in the backyard. affidavit, lofton told police he took a cab home from a nightclub and driver and another person came to the door of his home demanding money. lofton says he got his gun and fired eight shots killing both. cabarrus county deputies asking for your help to find a woman. this is 63-year-old von da beringer. deputies believe she suffers from cognitive impairment. last seen in mount pleasant. if you've seen her call 9-1-1. >> a mother finds her teenage daughter tied up in a closet. a carry home invasion. two men broke in the back door saturday afternoon. the 17-year-old was tied up using duct tape and her mother is shaken up.
to a chair on the floor. somebody threw her in there and closed the door. >> police say the girl was not hurt but taken to the hospital. they say it's unclear if anything was taken from the home. a north carolina man has been charged with kidnapping a jacksonville jaguars player. defensive end wolf and let him go unharmed. a spokesperson says wolf is doing well mentally and physically. >> tense moments in the sky for a nascar team based here in charlotte. a plane belonging to hendrick motor sports was coming back in las vegas when it had to make an emergency landing in memphis. brody o'connells ha the story first at 4:00. >> whoa. trouble! trouble. >> the nascar sprint cup series was in las vegas sunday.
hendrick motor sports walked away empty handed but the frustrations did not end there. during an overnight home to charlotte a plane carrying several team members had to make an emergency landing in memphis. a spokesman tells wbtv there was a presence of smoke inside the cabin. no injuries were reported. and no drivers were onboard. the aircraft it's now being evaluated. we're told there was no immediate indication of what caused the cabin to begin filling with smoke. as for the passengers onboard, well they are ok and returned home on a different plane. call it a turbulent ending to an eventful weekend out west. in charlotte, brody o'connell wbtv on your side. >> all right thank you. >> live to johnson c. smith university right now former president clinton at the podium for his campaign stop here in charlotte. let's listen in.

64 in chester and 65 in shelby. and cooler in boone. 58 in boone is certainly not a bad thing. we have had a little bit of cloud cover move in over charlotte and the surrounding counties into south carolina. the foothills communities and the higher elevations you are seeing the sun. and the rest of us will pick it up in a little bit. high pressure is offshore. that is out of here? maybe it's not going to impact us? notice this wind out of the south it's like a shield over top of us because of that high pressure system. and texas you see the rain. put this into motion and notice how it moves up and around us. this is tuesday at 4:00. no rain to speak of. and we will take it out 24 hours into wednesday at 4:00 and you see the rain is back to the west. nothing can penetrate that high pressure system that is why we have the clear and dry conditions at least through the first part of the week.

the supreme court appointment. i hope he gets a person confirmed. but whether the president does or not there will be other appointments. it's important we cannot have a republican president and republican congress and a republican supreme courtment the country will never get over it. but you also got to leave the door open. so this is my main argument. everything hillary has done since we first went to washington when i was elected president, everything she found a way to get republican support for. when we lost on healthcare, she worked with senator kennedy to pass the children's health insurance bill. now more than eight million kids insured under that and got 75% of the vote in both houses and both parties. >> president clinton speaking there and he will continue to speak for sometime on the republican side, g.o.p.
