this may be the warmest all day. temperatures may fall. it's 59 in nashua. 57 in worcester and what you see is what you get. there will be a lot of clouds this morning. patches of fog and drizzle. upper 50s lacone yeah to nashua. and lower 60s for most of us out over cape cod. visibility is reduced in spots. fine in eastern massachusetts but a touch of patchy fo south and east of nantucket. south of nantucket is going to stay there. what we will see today a lot of clouds and look at temperatures only in the upper 50s to around 60 and a shower or two is possible and have the umbrella on stand by but a lot of the day will be spent dry. overcast with an isolated shower and patches of drizzle at the coast for the ride home. we will go through the weekend in a few. let's get you on the roads. >> reporter: breaking overnight a deadly crash in the east boston area. one person was killed when a

1a and curtis street around 2 crn 30. police are investigate -- 2:30 # this morning. police are investigating. one lane remains closed. watch out for construction crews unside the o'neill tunnel. they are working in both direction this is morning. northbound the two left lanes are closed inside the tunnel. and southbound, two right lanes are closed and so is exit 24. construction in the tunnel has been wrapping up at around 5 a.m. every day so it shouldn't cause issues for the morning commute. >> thank you. a new twist in items taken from the home of nathan carman. the young man seen here arriving in boston after he was rescued off the massachusetts coast. carman returned to his vermont home yesterday. >> and this morning his mother is missing and presume dead. in an interview with the hartford current carman said i would like to thank the public for prayers and concern for both my mother and myself. and i would like to thank the crew of the ship that rescued me. both for rescuing me and for

once a suspect in a murder of his grandfather. >> wbz lisa moller looks at the investigation. >> reporter: as nathan carman arrived at coast guard base in boston investigators were digging into the mystery that left his mother 54-year-old linda carman lost at sea. monday police executed a search warrant at his veron vermont home and came away with a modem sim card and hawr reel and i got to safety forward. [audio not understandable] >> reporter: on sunday the 22- year-old told the coast guard his story after he was found by a freighter. floating off the coast of martha's vineyard in a life raft. he and his mother embarked on a fishing trip a week earlier. of the coast of new york he said the boat the chicken pox

is considered a cold case in windsor connecticut. but a source confirms to our sister station that nathan was once the primary person of interest in the 2013 murder and acoring to the court documents windsor police submitted an arrest warrant to a prosecutor for carman on a murder charge. the warrant was returned unsigned a day later requesting further information. the current reports a search warrant named carman as e last known person to see his grandfather. we will continue to follow the story and bring you any new information as soon as we get it. breaking overnight a unarmed black man shot by police in san diego suburb has died. police sayn he will cay hon released this image overnight showing the man moments before he was shot he pointed a object in a shooting stance the object turned out not to be a weapon but police have not said what it is. they say they first tried to subdue the man with a stun gun.

hotel was evacuated and investigators found a chemical suit along with towels and blue dye inside a room. the dea is taking over the investigation. the mother of baby bella will testify against her ex- boyfriend. michael mccarthy and rachel bond both face charges of baby beller. mccarthy is accused of killing the child the girl's mother is accused of helping to cover up the crime. her attorneys tell the gl to testify against mccarthy. this morning the faa is investigating a fiery helicopter crash in new hampshire. the chopper went down yesterday afternoon near rivers edge road in andover. the state police say the pilot was the only one on board. the chopper caught fire but the pilot was able to escape. he was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. the red sox magic number is at one this morning. boston's winning streak ended against the yankees last night.

start. dew points in the upper 50s. northeast wind 13 miles per hour. that wind off the ocean going to be persistent and strong over the next couple days. what you see is what you get. temperatures are in the upper 50s and low 60s. and we will not rebound. 60 in lawrence right now. same in taunton. it's 48 in keene and we will rebound a bit. but look at this 55 to 60 today. that's it for temperatures through the course of the afternoon. satellite and radar quiet. steadier rain that's offshore sitting south and east of nantucket that may get a shower lifting over the island over mid to late morning. otherwise we are stuck in the clouds. there's more wet weather back to the west in terms of showers that will generally stay to the west for now. we are locked in with this moisture. 10 a.m. a little light green patchy dryel is likely to develop as we saturate the atmosphere today. otherwise, a lot of the day is spent dry and just overcast and

with an isolated shower for your commute home. tonight patchy dryel and fog will -- drizzle and fog will continue. falling intoed mid-50s for most -- into-- falling into the mid- 50s for most of us. 55 to 60 for most of us. and a similar day in there won't be a lot of wet weather. patches of drizzle. we may get partial clearing tomorrow night and friday clouds fill back in. rain close by. the question is can we get to lift northward. it would be good for the drought but right now a lot of that moisture may stay to the south and west and we may get a period of wet weather that comes in in terms of steadier rain on saturday. here is the layer yeah of low pressure we are watching. no closed center of circulation so not a named storm. but here the lesser and tilly island. we are watching the storm that is likely to become matthew to come into the caribbean and look at that, take a northward jog several days out towards the end of next week. for a potential impact in the

a man following a police chase from massachusetts to new hampshire. the former new hampshire trooper pleaded guilty in his case. the i team uncovered new details in the sweet tomatoes crash that killed two people in march. in court documents released yesterday a witness says the vehicle was traveling extremely fast in the middle of the roadway and approximately 70 to 80 miles an hour. and she heard a wind sound as the vehicle passed her. the documents show pizza ovens with a combined weight of 4,000 po feet after the impact. the driver 55-year-old bradford casler pleaded not guilty to could counts of motor vehicle homicide. his attorney argued to keep the documents sealed. the judge did allow some of the details to remain blocked from public view. controversial ads put a college come pus on alert. they are soliciting college women to connect with sugar
