pittsburgh we are out of the snow. philadelphia is starting to pick up and as the morning wears on the snow will get heavier and make its way up i-95. low pressure along the coast as it pushes up in the morning. we will be looking at the snow developing. it will get of heavier. two to four inches per hour. thunder snow possible and white out conditions with strong winds. 50 to 60 mile per hour wind gusts. beach erosion with waves 10 to 20 feat. up towards the boston area late tonight into tomorrow morning and noon time tomorrow boston with two to four inches from the snow. white out and blizzard conditions. 65 to 80 miles per hour wind gusts in the boston area. major coastal flooding and power outages possible. probably likely. it will continue to move up into northern new england. here's what we look for. new york city is 12 to 20 inches

hours. we picked up about two inches here. into tomorrow night, we will be measuring up to here and in some areas up to here in new york, hartford providence and boston. how does that happen? this storm is expected to bomb out offshore. that's a short word for bombo genesis. it experiences barometric drops of up to 24 millibars in 24 hours. that's the official definition. it c extremely high winds. we could see hurricane-force winds and coastal flooding because of the winds. how am i going to get this yard stick to boston? i hope to get to boston because so many flights have been canceled in advan vance of this storm.

>> travel safe. >> as we said this storm of course making it difficult to travel. we will go to tom costello and he will check in with what's going on in the airports. let's get to the other stories. another security scare at the white house. a drone found on the grounds there overnight. kristin welker has the latest. good morning. >> reporter: according to a federal law enforcement official, a drone landed in a tree on the white house grounds at 3:00 a.m. eastern time. the secret service responded and determined it didn't pose a threat. they searched the grounds of the south lawn overnight. the president and daughters malia, sasha and granddaughters are here. they spoke to reporters a short time ago. >> a device has been recovered by the secret service and early

indications is it does not pose a threat to anybody at the white house. >> the director shows that chancy is there with the president and appointed after a series of security lapses including when a man jumped over the north lawn and made it deep inside the executive mansion in september. the latest incident clearly raises questions and concerns. officials said they will have more on the investigation later today. >> kristen, thank you very much. >> the patriots are flying out ahead of the storm heading to the super bowl and the deflate gate scandal will be there after controversial comments from the seattle seahawks star. in boston this morning, peter, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. the patriots will appreciate the atmosphere change.

the alarms raised after bomb threats including some posted to twitter targeted the flights. >> i was shocked. >> two flights evacuated after landing in seattle when officials receive reports of possible bomb threats. >> when i was getting off the plane, i asked the pilot what happened. he said they were informed of two planes with bomb threats. >> flying from long beach, california and one from phoenix were mid-air when they received the threats. both landed safely in seattle. they cleared the planes and all passengers and crew of security concerns. >> this is the first time i had aircraft fairly close in arrival time for them to be considered a security situation. >> another reported bomb threat from los angeles to orlando. forcing passengers to land in

as well. tom costello is at reagan national. >> reporter: a lot of rain and wind here this morning will turn into snow later in the afternoon. as it does as it hits the mid-atlantic and northeast, several airports will likely be hit hard over the next 48 hours. washington, baltimore, up to philly. all three new york airports from boston to maine. we will see effects in columbus and pittsburgh and likely chicago as well. amtrak also worth watching. 720,000 people right the northeast corridor every day. amtrak said they will watch closely. they have 1200 bridges. it's possible they will have to close down certain lines and cancel trains over the course of the next 48 hours. this may be as calm as it gets before the storm. they were expecting snow in

you want to have an emergency kit. make sure it's full of water and blankets. flashlights and batteries and nonperishables. don't forget the manual can opener. you want to keep heaters ventilated. carbon monoxide poisoning. make sure your car is filled with gas now. in case your power goes out, the pipes can freeze. keep a drip in your faucet so your pipes don't burst. there is a good thing to note. keep this and write this down. if your power goes out for an extended period of time and you text the word shelter and your zip coat to 43362 and they will give you a list of shelters in your area. if you have a land line, make sure you have it set up.
