today, i'm rosemary connors, 6:00 on this saturday, and our meteorologist, michelle grossman, is tracking that cool weather on this weekend. michelle? >> hi there, rosemary. tonight, temperatures will be dropping into the 20s and 30s. a chilly start to the day, but nothing compared to tonight and sunday into monday. it's dark, but once the sun comes up, a lot of sun throughout the day, but temperatures are cool this afternoon in the 50s across the area, and some spots not making it out of the 40s this afternoon. we are colder compared to this time yesterday in some spots, look at southern new jersey, up to 17 degrees colder in millville compared to 24 hours ago and 14 degrees cooler in atlantic city. a cold afternoon as the temperatures go into the 50s by this afternoon. temperatures right now mainly in the 50s and 40s, some in the 30s.
46 in allentown, 40 in lan caster, 50 in philadelphia. south and east, 30s, 40s, 50s as well. 39 in millville. there are pockets of really chilly air out there. 55 in wildwood. by this afternoon, we're looking at temperatures into the 50s by 8:00, 48, and 1:00, temperatures around 53, 54 degrees, mostly sunny skies. breezy and breezy by 4:00 as well with a high of 56. cooler today and not getting out of the low 50s, feeling like the 40s. more on that coming up. this morning, a taxi cab driver in montgomery county is accused of shooting his boss over money. avingtontown police township, ozzie clark, seen here, and his boss in an argument over money he believed his boss owed him. clark pulled a gun and shot the coowner in the chest. clark then allegedly appointm d
weapon at three other workers, and clark would not let them call an ambulance until they cut him a check. robin co-owns the company. >> argument over a few dollars, maybe, maybe he misunderstand something, alex, like i said, a very honest man. >> alex is recovering at the hospital in stable condition. police caught up with clark in philadelphia. he is now back in avington township to face charges. new from overnight, police are reported the fourth robbery near the campus of temple university within the past week. investigators tell us that in the latest incident, somebody was robbed at broad and jefferson around 1:00 this morning. police have not made any arrests in the case, and it's unclear if the victim is a student. nearby, philadelphia police say a man was attacked and robbed while walking to his apartment at 19th and diamond last night.
sky force 10 was there as police officers conducted the investigation. the four men assaulted the man before forcing him into his apartment and stealing several items. the victim was treated for a wound near his eye and is expected to be okay. look at this new surveillance video showing one of the two suspects who police say attacked a university temple football player thursday. the player was leaving a takeout restaurant when he was forced to ground before stealing his car and cell phone. there's video showing two suspects wanted for robbing another temple student three hours before on thursday. the student was robbed near his house on 15th and montgomery. police do not believe those two robberies i mentioned are related. they are different descriptions of the suspects in those cases, but anyone information is asked to call the police. this haunted house in new
castle county is good for chills and thrills, but one police officer was shocked when the attraction banned him from carrying his give up inside. middletown says they have a safety policy, no guns allowed. this week, a facebook post went viral after an offduty police officer was spotted from going in. he wanted to bring the service weapon in in case of app emergency. frightland says it supports the police, but stands by its policy. >> we don't think it's appropriate for people to carry firearms inside a dark, dimly lit, haunted house where people are jumping out to startle people. >> frightland, by the way, started 18 years ago as a way to raise money for leukemia awareness and research. it's now delaware's largest and most popular haunted attraction. flawed and speculative, what
chaka, jr. calls the case against him of his alleged misuse of federal contracts and loans. he's defending himself and denies the charges. prosecutors say he used bank loans to pay personal expenses including gambling debts. in court yesterday, a representative from the sugar house casino in philadelphia testified that he lost more than $125,000 during ten months of gambling. his father, chaka, sr., was in the courtroom yesterday facing federal charges, but in a separate case. now, according to the indictment in that case, chaka senior is accused of using congressional influng influen influencing, and accepting a secret million dollar campaign loan and taking a bribe from a lobbyist who wanted to be an ambassador. he denied all charges. congressman is married to nbc 10
anchor, renee who is referenced in the criminal complaint against her husband, labeled as person e. and an affiliate of the enterprise, and the feds allege she took part in a scheme to fraudulently sell a car to pay closing costs on a vacation home. she's not charged and denies any wrong doing. she's on leave from n 10. just ahead, an update on the condition of former nba star lamar odom as he continue recovering. details are next. plus, after more than a year since the crash nearly killed him, comedian tracy morgan is back on prime time television. what's beginning on tonight coming up. the commissioner is moving

this is nbc 10 news. good morning, we are working to get details on the crash from last night involving a police cruiser and another vehicle. sky force 10 was over the scene near harding highway. one person was air lifted from the accident. right now, it's unclear if the person was the officer in the cruiser. stay with us for updates. in philadelphia, authorities work to identify the body of a woman pull from the delaware river last night. sky force 10 was over the water off columbus boulevard where the body was discovered. it's unclear how the woman died or how long she was in the
delaware. zblmplgtsz two chester county residents are the first to be charged under pennsylvania's new law that makes it illegal to have animal fighting materials. authorities say they found five adult pit bulls and seven puppies in a house along west 4th avenue in parksboro thursday night. also inside, they say they discovered dog treadmills, steroids, syringes, and printed material promoting dog fighting. the spca is working to find the dogs loving homes. the new state law sign in july makes it illegal to have any animal fighting materials in pennsylvania, including everything from adrenaline boosting drugs to conditioning equipment for dogs. jury deliberations resume monday in the center city building collapse trials. six people died, more than a dozen others hurt when demolition work sent a massive amount of debris crashes on to the salvation army thrift store in 2013. the demolition contractor,

this is nbc 10 news. new this morning, there are reports of more deaths in the latest violence between israelis and palestinians. this is a look at gaza where two palestinians died in clashes with israeli forces yesterday. this morning, palestinian medics say that three of their own were kill in squirmishes in the west bank. fighting broke out after palestinians declared a day of rage against israel. according to the palestinians, they are worried israel is trying to take over a muslim shrine in jerusalem, and israeli officials deny that. decision 2016, a new signal that vice president biden could be entering the presidential race. here's what we know. one of the vice president's closest advisers wrote this letter to former biden staffers. it reads in part that he, meaning biden, believes we must

philadelphia international airport, the final stop for the last u.s. air flight to soar the skies as the company now becomes part of american airlines. we are joined live from the airport this morning with more on that final flight and celebration going on. monique? >> reporter: a party is underway here at american airlines gate 12. let me show you what's going on. the last crew of united airlines flight just arrived, posing for pictures now. for many of them, this is the last time they will fly, some are retiring. we also see in the crowd the company's ceo for american airlines, he's 89 years old. just moments ago, they presented him with a bouquet of roses. as each of the 187 passengers stepped foot here at philadelphia international airport, they were given a bag of popcorn, and those that we talked to told us that's the last hoorah.
they said all along the flight starting yesterday, stopping in phoenix and san francisco, and each stop, there was a party, a huge reception. so flight 1939 arrived a short time ago, 1939 is a nod to the year american airlines was founded, and it left san francisco just before 10:00 last night, and we're told that there was a champagne on board, recepti reception, a toast to the former chairman. this is part of the final united airlines flight and first american airlines flight. as you know, this merger has been two years in the making. for the past two years, american airlines has been running about 5 million mock reservations, we're told, with hopes today will be smooth. so we've talked to some of the passengers. some of them, there are a dozen who made the trip, the round trip, and we talked to some who hopped on? san francisco to be part of the historical flight. we'll have that for you coming up throughout the day.
live now from phl, nbc 10 news. thanks for that. in news this morning, a jersey shore college is looking at the possibility of arming its security guards after several school shootings across the country in the past few months. atlanta county executives sent this letter to the president and trustees urging them to consider arming security, else on the school's secluded campus. the school's president says it is a real possibility, and that he's working with officials to develop a strategy to improve overall security. we spoke to students about what they think. >> we should have guns just in case because you never know what can happen. >> looking at what happened, it feels like it's really -- it brings protection. >> i think our security has been doing very well with keeping us safe. >> college administrators are expected to make recommendations to the board of trustees in the next three months.
changes could come by late january. hundreds of volunteers gathered in north philadelphia yesterday to fix eight homes in desperate need of repair. local students, corporate volunteers, and homeowners worked side by side for the project that is called rebuilding together philadelphia. they took on a variety of projects at somes along north franklin street like installing grab bars for elderly homeowners, installing sign floors, and painting. >> our work is all about community. the community involves homeowners, it involves neighbors, it involves volunteers. it involves the entire city and we all benefit from the work. in the last week, they made repairs to 13 homes. next, the king of the mall is expanding in both size and staff. we'll tell you what plans come ahead of the holiday season next. on this week's nbc 10 at
issue, taking on the question whether or not parents should let their underage children drink alcohol at home. it's against the law in many states including pennsylvania, but some say it's time to let parents choose, and others say it's sending the wrong message. that's tomorrow at 11:30 after "meet the press."
