bill henley and the nbc 10 neighborhood weather forecast. good morning, bill. >> good morning, vai. we're running 5 to 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. these are the numbers. this is what's happening right now. live picks from across the area. 46 degrees in the pennsylvania suburbs. clouds and light fog in the suburbs. and with clouds lingering, not going to see much of a warmup this morning. 51 degrees, that's by 11:00 this morning. philadelphia, sunshine is on hold to start with. might see breaks this afternoon. but this morning, the clouds lingering and cool. 54 degrees. overall today it's going to be cooler. yesterday we're in the 80s. today it will be 60s with partly sunny skies this afternoon in the lehigh valley. mainly cloudy for philadelphia. clouds and some thinning of the clouds, maybe a little bit of sunshine later today. parts of the area, though, you'll still need an umbrella. we'll break it down neighborhood by neighborhood when i'm back in ten minutes. jessica boyington has a lack at your first alert traffic. >> we're watching construction on ç422.
typically this is cleared out of the way by 5:00 in the morning. as you con san see, we're a lit behind schedule. 422 around route 23. we have ramp restrictions there and construction crews active on the scene, moving things around. something to watch out for. over in wilmington, delaware, there's still an accident route 202 northbound on that side. also taking out part of the southbound left lane, that's closed around foulk road. some small detours and delays behind the scene. for the most part, everything moving along just fine. that hit and run accident scene in north philadelphia, the southbound traffic on broad and brown is being detoured. there's still an active scene around 15th and parrish. vai? >> jessica, thank you. we're following breaking news out of philadelphia this morning. two philadelphia police officers are in the hospital after being involved in a crash that led to a carjacking and another crash. nbc 10's katy zachry is live for us at one of the crash scenes
this morning in philadelphia's fairmount neighborhood. a lot happened after the officers were hit. just walk us through it. >> well, vai, what's taking place behind me is the second part of a pretty involved crime scene that took place earlier this morning. we're focusing in on this white suv. keep your eye on this car. this is key to the larger story. let's start from the beginning. we have video of the police involved crash that took place along broad street right near brown. so two plain clothes philadelphia police officers were in this pickup truck driving on broad street at brown when a black sedan hit them. that black sedan kept driving. so a witness to the crash stopped his car, got out. i'm just learning from police he didn't put it in park. he just got out of his moving car because he seemed to be frightened by the whole crash that had taken place in front of him. so he started running and his car kept moving forward. two men who were walking on the
sidewalk near all of this commotion, apparently, jumped into that moving vehicle. suv you're seeing in the video. they jumped in that white suv. they're in essence stealing a car from a crash scene, they drove several blocks away from that initial crash scene where they then crashed into two vehicles right near 15th and parrish street in the fairmount section of philadelphia. then witnesses to that second crash saw the two men run from that white suv into a nearby nightclub on broad street where they apparently went in and took off any identifying clothes they were wearing. one witness told police that one of the men running from this scene behind me was wearing a red hooded sweet shirt. took that off as he went into the nightclub so he wouldn't be able to be identified. please are still looking for the two men who stole this white suv behind me. they're also looking for the
person in that black sedan that initially struck the undercover officers' pickup truck on broad street. the undercover officers were taken to hahnemann hospital. one has a concussion, the other minor neck injuries. the chief just got on scene. he'll help sort us out and i'll have his comments on what unfolded here this morning at 5:30. katy zachry, nbc 10 news. last night's primary results signal defeat for long-time congressman chaka fattah. >> the loss comes as jury selection is set to start next week in his federal corruption trial. last night fattah and his family greeted somber supporters in east falls. he talked about his record of delivering for his district. but he seemed to acknowledge the indictment was too much to overcome in this election. >> yes, there were forces
against us tonight, a very powerful and influential people. they were on the other side. it is also clear that the majority will have its way and they've decidedç that someone else should take on the responsibility. >> and here's the man who defeated fattah. dwight evans walked into his election party to warm greetings from family, friends and supporters. the long-time pennsylvania statehouse member won this congressional race with 44% of the vote. >> first i want to thank the democratic voters of the 2nd congressional district. i am humbled by the trust that they have provided to me. >> also in his victory remarks, evans thanked fattah for serving the district for two decades. evans will take on republican james jones in the november general election. now to the presidential race. republican donald trump won all five of yesterday's primary contests. >> and democrat hillary clinton won four out of five, including pennsylvania and delaware.

and pennsylvania stand. matt delucia is with us for that break down. >> it was fairly decisive victories for trump and clinton yesterday. according to the ap, clinton is 90% on the way to the democratic nomination. donald trump is about 77% on the way to the republican nomination. and now you have ted cruz and john kasich, they are still doing everything they caíç to stop donald trump. ted cruz has been focusing his efforts on the state of indiana. they vote on may 10th. let's take a look at the presidential race for the democrats here in our area. you had hillary clinton taking all of the counties in our area. very decisive victory there for her. and then also for the republicans, donald trump took all of this area as well. looking at the democrats for president in delaware, hillary clinton took all three of the counties here in the first state and then also for the republicans, donald trump took all of those as well.
much wider margins in delaware. clinton had 60% of the vote to sanders 39%. trump had 61% to john kasich who came in second there at 20%. one interesting mention, one thing that the nbc news political unit found last night is that donald trump has been claiming stronger victories in states with democratic governors. we'll look at the delegates and hear more from the candidates coming up in the next half hour. tracy? >> matt, don't forget we have you covered on the presidential race and every election happening in your area. go to our nbc 10 app or nbc10.com whichever is easier for you. find the results from the primaries and what's next for the nominees. 5:09. police arrest a bucks county mother in the death of her 2-year-old daughter. falls township detectives say kayla moore admitted to kiblging her daughter in the head and body several times monday night. police say the girl suffered blunt force injuries at the home
