a new poll shows what the people of new jersey think of governor chris christie. we'll tell you about the factors behind the number. not an all-time low but cool nonetheless. cool and misty start for our friday morning commute as we take a live look at i-95. the girard point bridge where some can see showers this morning. and a little bit later this afternoon as well perhaps. good morning and welcome to "nbc 10 news today." i'm vai sikahema. >> i'm tracy davidson. it is 5:00 a.m. let's begin with meteorologist bill henley and first alert neighborhood weather forecast. see exactly what's happening in your neighborhood. showers in some neighborhoods, bill. >> a few sprinkles, light rainfall, scattered stuff this morning. yes, nowhere near the all-time low of 29 degrees back in 1874. it's not exactly warm. chilly to start with. low 40s in the pennsylvania suburbs. a little fog and mist, cloudy skies over the lehigh valley, 46. you'll see the temperatures climb but keep an umbrella handy. not expecting an all-day

rainfall. there will be scattered showers at times, 49 degrees, clouds at 8:00. low 50s at 11:00 this morning. we will see a chilly day through the day and clouds hanging in there, thanks to easterly winds. 53 degrees with a few scattered showers for the pennsylvania suburbs and a little bit cooler at the shore in new jersey. 50 degrees this afternoon while it warms to 55 degrees in philadelphia. that's what's happening today. you can check out the seven-day forecast anytime you like, right at the bottom of the screen when i'm on the air. within i come back, we'll take a closer look at when you can expect to see showers today. following closely the traffic, jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. jessica? >> we're watching an accident scene in abington on moredon road and old ford road. that might be setting people back on the roadways right now. the boulevard looking okay, roberts avenue, no big delays in either direction as you can see if you're headed north or southbound maybe towards the schuylkill expressway. no big delays there yet. allentown, construction,ç thiss

officials are accused of orchestrating traffic jams in ft. lee in order to punish its mayor for not supporting christie. christie has not been charged. meantime, governor christie's approval ratings have hit an all-time low. according to a new rutgers/eagleton poll, just 26% of voters in the state of new jersey have a favorable opinion of christie. now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> a chilly, dreary start this morning. a little view from center city. we've seen a few sprinkles, a little bit of mist at timesç b no big rainfall and no big warmup. the clouds will be hanging in there. 47 degrees right now. at 7:00 this morning, 47 degrees. and just a few degrees warmer at 10:00. in between, we may see a few scattered showers. 46 degrees in south jersey. delaware is in the middle 40s and 42 degrees in the pennsylvania suburbs. as far as philadelphia is concerned, 47, that's at philadelphia international. now 44 in somerton. fairly uniform temperatures

thanks to the clouds. chestnut hill, 44 degrees, we'll warm into the 50s this afternoon. not going to see a lot of rainfall today. might want to carry an umbrella just to be on the safe side. it's dry in philadelphia, a few scattered light showers, isolated stuff in south jersey. to the north of the lehigh valley, moving through berks county, into lehigh county right now. those showers will be light and scattered during the day today. temperatures will warm from the 40s into the 50s. chestnut hill, 54 degrees this afternoon. the pennsylvania suburbs will warm into the low 50s. lansdale, occasionally showers in the lehigh valley. occasional showers and temperatures in the 50s there too. glassboro, cloudy skies, 54 degrees. a few sprinkles in haddonfield at times and at the shore, just a little bit chillier. atlantic city, 50. linwood 51 and dover up to 54 degrees with cloudy skies and a chance of some scattered showers. you can see the futurecast at 7:30 this morning. just very light rainfall moving

into the area. steadier rain. it's going to be fleeting. 10:00 this morning, light showers in wilmington and moving towards philadelphia. those will move through during the late morning hours. then into the afternoon, you can see how scattered and light the wet weather is. by later in the afternoon, at 3:30, there's still rain in the area. delaware is mainly dry at this hour. but for the pennsylvania suburbs and the lehigh valley, for the afternoon commute, likely to see some rainfall. we're staying cool for today. in fact, the entire weekend will stay cool. normally we'd warm to near 70 degrees in the afternoon this time of year. we're stuck in the 50s today with clouds and a few sprinkles. saturday, a couple breaks of sunshine possible. mostly cloudy and cool, 63 degrees. but it will be dry during the day on saturday, then rain starts to move in saturday night and a rainy day on sunday which includes the blue cross broad street run. a closer look at that race. the timing of the rainfall and the ten-day outlook when i'm back in ten minutes. all right, bill, 5:10.

5:15, 46 degrees outside. a philadelphia town hall will focus on the future of the police department's policy of stop and frisk. mayor jim kenney and police commissioner richard ross are expected at the forum. kenny made a campaign promise to end stop and frisk but later he talked about reforms. the church's pastor said the mayor can clarify that position at tonight's event. dozens of home owners affected by hurricane sandy are taking aim at the federal government. on capitol hill yesterday, the home owners met with new jersey

congressman tom macarthur and a former fema manager turned whistle-blower. the home owners claim fema underpaid and defrauded them in the year since the storm hit in 2012. they said it's time to hold the agency accountable. >> you're going up and down the streets and there are senior citizens that can't get back in her homes. i want things done. i want it done today, now, you know. >> congressman macarthur is calling for new congressional hearings for sandy victim' the resignation of fema's director. three relatives of the san bernardino shooters are under arrest and facing charges not related to terror.

they say the suspects committed marriage fraud in a scheme to get immigration benefits. farook and his wife died in the shootout with police after the couple killed 14 people at a community center in december. the post showed up minutes before the draft. a video on laramie's twitter account appeared to show the player smoking an illegal substance through a gas mask. the offensive lineman slid to the miami dolphins at pick number 13. the lower draft slot could have cost tunsil millions of dollars. >> somebody hacks my account. i made that mistake, several years ago and somehow somebody got my photos and hacked my twitter account. >> tunsil says the hacking did not end with twitter. he says his instagram account was also hacked. 5:17. 46 degrees outside. let's check your ride to work on this friday morning. >> jessica boyington, how's it looking on the roads? >> we're doing okay. fridays are typically one of our

lighter days in terms of traffic and problems. we're light, still early to see the delay anyway. here's 42 around route 41 in deptford, new jersey. no problems in either direction. the northbound lanes are in here. that's what's headed to the philadelphia area. i put up a drive time to show you, still in the green. a five-minute trip headed northbound from just beyond this point to 55,ç headed toward th walt whitman bridge. emergency construction on the delaware memorial bridge. the left lane is closed, heading into delaware. still with that construction. we're not seeing those big delays that we saw about a week and a half ago, especially when you move back into jersey on 295 or the new jersey turnpike. 95 once you get through delaware looks okay. you can see we're still in the green there as well. 11 minutes northbound from 295 to 495 with speeds into the 60s. more updates when i come back in the next ten. >> now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> clouds are overhead.

if you're heading out right now, grab the jacket and keep an umbrella handy. we've seen a few sprinkles, a little bit of drizzle this morning. this is a live view from broomall which has seen light rainfall, plenty of clouds to keep things chilly. during the day we'll see occasional light showers and a dreary day overall. that's going to keep temperatures in the 50s. the wind coming in off the ocean again today is going to keep the numbers down. and keep a chance of showers into the area this evening. then we should get a break heading into the first part of the weekend. you can see that with the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen. the winds, the last couple days have been coming off the ocean, those northeasterly winds have kept the clouds in place and kept us cool. today will be no different. we're starting off a little bit cooler, now 47 degrees in philadelphia. the lehigh valley, the pennsylvania suburbs in the 40s, south jersey is 45 degrees. delaware, 45 right now. and it's fairly uniform temperatures with those winds and clouds in place. showers we haven't seen too many

of them. there will be scattered showers at rehoboth beach during the day today. it's 50 degrees right now. not a big warmup with mostly cloudy skies. here's the satellite and the radar. you can see scattered, light showers to the west. those are coming our way. so it's not a big rainfall. but we will see showers develop in philadelphia. see some sprinkles to the north and most of those showers are fizzling right now. the chance of showers will stay with us during the day today. and then return over the weekend on sunday. this is 1:00 this afternoon. you can see scattered light showers, lehigh valley at 5:00 today. the umbrellas will be going up. your ten-day outlook, chilly today, 55 the high temperature. lots of clouds and occasional light showers. a break from the rain tomorrow but the clouds are not going to clear out. we'll still see some breaks of sunshine, enough to get us up to 63. it will be a mostly cloudy saturday. sunday, the blue cross broad street run in for rain. 58 degrees, that's the high temperature after a morning low

of 49 degrees. during the run, the rain likely to start at 8:00 in the morning, if not sooner, and continuing at 10:00. by noontime, 54 degrees. and it will be a bit warmer for tuesday. we'll be drying out after a few showers on monday, 66 tuesday and into next week. we will see a warming trend, near 70 degrees for wednesday and thursday. that's typical for this time of year. then into the 70s on friday. next weekend, actually is looking nice with temperatures in the 70s. kind of dreary this weekend. the following weekend, something to look forward to. i'll take any weekend this time of year. >> that's the best forecast right there. thank you,ç bill. 46 degrees at 21 minutes past 5:00. after a recent trip to the motor vehicle commission, new jersey governor chris christie is taking action. hear about the new requirement for commission employees that could help cut through the red tape. plus, caught on camera, police say several teenagers beat and robbed a man on a college campus.

kind of cool. good morning, welcome to "nbc 10 news today." i'm tracy davidson. >> i'm vai sikahema. i know it's misting. i had my wind shield wipers on low. let's get to meteorologist bill henley with the neighborhood forecast. >> lots of clouds, a little bit of mist and a few scattered showers. a little bit of activity on the radar into berks county, cumberland, heading towards cape may county. that's a shower moving through maurice river right now, a light shower. through the day we'll see clouds and cool temperatures. chilly this morning. the suburbs right now, 42 agrees. the lehigh valley, 46 and it's 45, a little bit of cloud and mist. in delaware and for philadelphia, 47 degrees. that's our starting point. we will see no sunshine today. 47 degrees at 7:00 and warmer by 10:00 this afternoon. and during the afternoon hours, 10:00 this morning.
