jersey. in the lehigh valley, 44 degrees. you can see scattered clouds there, looking like a nice morning, though. mostly sunny skies at 8:00. by 11:00, 67 degrees and into the low 70s for easton. in fact, everybody will see a warmup. once we get past the chill this morning, we will see enough sunshine to head us into the 70s for most locations, some of the pennsylvania suburbs will stop in the upper 60s this afternoon. there will be more clouds later today than this morning. so you'll need your sunglasses to start with. but for the commute home, maybe not.n cf1 o there are more changes ahead. you may have noticed them with the seven-day forecast at the bottom the screen. one seven day for each part of our area. a look ahead when those showers move into the area. jessica boyington watching first alert traffic. >> we're watching hamilton township in new jersey right now. this is 295 right around sloan avenue. no problems in either direction here. if you're headed towards the new jersey transit train station,
you'll be fine getting there. no delays there either. all mass transit pretty much running on time or close to schedule this morning. over on 95 throughout delaware, no problems there either. we are still in the green. an 11-minute drive times headed northbound from 295 to 95 with speeds into the 60s. if you are in new jersey and you're heading into delaware, there's some nj construction still over the delaware memorial bridge. the left lane is closed heading from new jersey. you can see right in here, no delays or backups on to the turnpike or 295. vai and tracy. >> we are following breaking news out of ocean county this morning where the search for a prison inmate is back on following a new break in the case. >> police say 38-year-old arthur buckle was spotted on surveillance camera at a service area in lacey township. this is where he was reportedly scene at the forked river service area along the garden state parkway. nbc 10's matt delucia is live there on the scene for us this morning. matt, police say buckle used an employee's phone while he was at the service area.
tell us more. >> that's right, vai. it's been about eight hours since arthur buckle was last seen here at this service area. the forked river service area. i'll step out of the way. you can see there's still a department of corrections vehicle parked in this lot. there wa a lot more activity around 3:00, 4:00 this morning. but they have since fanned out, of course, they have been searching the wooded area in this area of the garden state parkway. and police have been trying to get a little bit more daylight which they are finally starting to get as we approach dawn. police from both lacey township and berkeley township are helping in this search. they've stepped up their own patrols but are telling residents, there is no known danger to them at this time. within the last half hour, we got a better look at what police are investigating. they have surveillance video of arthur buckle at the service plaza around 9:30. he used an employee's cell phone around the burger king, gave the phone back and then left. overnight, the police have been using the canine units searching
the wooded areas, searching from the ground and the air. arthur buckle escaped from prison last week, days before he was scheduled to be up for parole. he'd been serving time for aggravated assault, drug possession and burglary at bayside state prison in hammonton. he had previously served time for killing a 10-month-old. he's been spotted at different places, including barnegat in recent days. he's been caught on surveillance video several times now. we expect more in the way of this -- in the form of a plan from police later on this morning as to what the next steps will be. for now, though, the search is still going on. again, the town surrounding this forked river service area telling residents there is no known danger at this time. we are still awaiting word if schools will be open. we're staying on top of any updates. ave another one at the top of the hour. for now i'm live at the forked river service plaza in ocean county. decision 2016, senator
bernie sanders brings his presidential campaign to atlantic city today. >> his visit comes weeks away from the new jersey primary which is on june 7th. yesterday, sanders held a rally on the main campus of rutgers university. he faces an uphill battle to beat hillary clinton for the democratic nomination. he claims he would be a better candidate to face the presumptive republican nominee in november. >> trump will be not elected president because the american people understand that we are stronger when we come together than when we are divided up. >> hillary clinton will do her own campaigning in new jersey later this week. she plans to visit camden county on wednesday. donald trump will be in new jersey on may 19th for two fund-raisers. >> one of them will go toward helping governor chris christie pay off a quarter million dollars in debt from his run for the white house. pennsylvania senator pat toomey is voicing concern about donald trump's abilities. in an editorial an philly.com yesterday, the republican
senator called trump's candidacy, quote, highly problemat problematic. toomey added he's inclined to support his pear's nominee. toomey also wrote it is up to trump to make the case for himself in a way that ensures the republicans and nonrepublicans who have grave doubts about him. winning the nomination is a great accomplishment but it does not mean party members check their judgment at the door. happening today, new jersey lottery officials will tell us more about the winning ticket in this weekend's powerball drawing. that briefing will happen at the 7-eleven store in trenton that sold the winner. one person matched every number in the drawing but we still do not know who that person is. the jackpot reached 4$429.6 million. that lump sum payment is about $284 million. it is the largest single jackpot winning ticket ever sold in new jersey. >> just glad it's from trenton,

murder. investigators say someone shot and killed jonathan vasquez during a viewing for his grandmother last thursday.ç now your nbc 10 first alert weather with meteorologist bill henley. >> 5:37. clear skies this morning and getting ready for a sunny start to the day. but i can't guarantee you sunshine all day long. bright sunshine at 7:00, 52 degrees. look at the warmup. by 10:00 this morning, 64 degrees. there will be high clouds starting to move into the area late this morning. at this hour, the temperatures are moving down. philadelphia, that's at 52. that's the warm spot at philadelphia international and center city, into the low 50s. the rest of the area is chilly. 40s for the lehigh valley, the suburbs, delaware and look at south jersey at 49 degrees. pemberton as dropped into the 39 degrees, into 30s, mount laurel is 43 degrees and vineland at 42. look at florence at 47 degrees.
a range of temperatures in interior new jersey. that's the starting point. enough sunshine to warm up nicely today, though, clouds not moving in just yet. they are to the west, coming off of showers in the ohio valley. there is a possibility that parts of the area will see showers later today. this is 1:00 this afternoon. high clouds, filtered sunshine for philadelphia, wilmington into atlantic city. you can see scattered light showers a possibility in central and southern delaware. those will stay to the south for most of the day. 4:00 in the afternoon, you might see a sprempgle in cape may. it does show the clouds that are coming into the area this afternoon and philadelphia will see some of the clouds. they completely dry during the day today. the planner for today, forecast is calling for bright sunshine to start with. then here come the clouds as the day goes on. upper 60s in the suburbs at 12:00 and by noontime, partly cloudy skies in the lehigh valley. 66 degrees with a warming trend in spite of those clouds for delaware, 66 degrees at lunch
time for new jersey and the jersey shore, bright sunshine and 50s to start with. but later in the day, more and more clouds. a chance of some showers for tomorrow. you'll see it on the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen. i'll go through the extended futurecast to show you when those are most likely to move into the area when i'm back in ten minutes. >> about 20 minutes before 6:00. looks like we have problems on 95. >> we get a glimpse. exactly where on 95 are you watching, jessica. >> this situation looks messier than it did just a few moments ago. several police cars arrived to the scene, a few ambulances are there as well. 95 around the girard point bridge headed northbound approaching that area right now. not all lanes are blocked. no big backups by the scene right now. the two left lanes are getting by. it's the right lane and right shoulder we have blocked right now. headed northbound toward the girard point bridge. no problems or delays. but they also could close off some of these lanes in the next couple minutes or so. we'll keep you updated as long

we continue to follow breaking news in ocean county this morning after the sighting of an escaped inmate who's been troopers believe someone spotted arthur buckle at the forked river rest stop in lazy township along the garden state parkway. buckle escaped from prison last tuesday. troopers say surveillance video at the service station captured images of buckle last night.
according to investigators, he used an employee's cell phone, gave it back and then left. overnight, police used canine units on the ground and searched for buckle by air. authorities say people who live in that area are not in danger. matt delucia will have an update for us in 15 minutes. 5:44. 52 degrees outside. today in trenton, the new jersey senate plans to vote on paid sick leave. the bill would require businesses to offer employees one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked. supporters say the measure will help those who can't take a sick day without losing pay. opponents say it will hurt businesses. it could soon be harder to buy a popular cough medicine in delaware if you're under 18. tomorrow the state senate will vote on a bill banning the sale of dxm. minors would need a prescription in order to buy it. the measure cleared the house last month. the goal is to stop kids who use dxm to get high.
it's in more than 125 drugs including robitussin, delsym and nyquil. what do we want? >> legal marijuana. demonstrators marched through center city yesterday. the group wants the drug to be fully legalized and regulated in the city and the entire state. we talked to the representative hoping to get support for a bill that would do just that. >> it's not about people being able to recreationally smoke all the time. no. it makes fiscal sense for us to do this the right way. >> last month governor tom wolf signed legislation making medical marijuana legal in pennsylvania. philadelphia decriminalized marijuana in 2014. newly released photos are giving us a new glimpse at president george w. bush in the minutes and hours after the september 11th terror attacks.
president bush was visiting a florida elementary school when he learn of the attacks. the fot tos show him at a child's size table writing a speech he would give to the world moments later. the president then spent several hours crisscrossing the country on air force one, stopping at air bases in louisiana and neb be in before returning to the white house to give another address to the nation. today ferguson, missouri will get a new police chief. moss will be sworn in as the new chief. he's seen here in his days with the miami police force. moss takes the helm of the troubled ferguson department. it's been a target of criticism and unrest following the shooting death of unarmed teenager michael brown in 2014. the premiere of alberta, canada, will be in the fire ravaged town of ft. mcmurray to look at the damage. >> the evacuations are finally over. firefighters are getting the upper hand as the massive blaze shifts away from the communities. the huge wildfire devourq an

upper 60s at lunch time. it stays dry through the afternoon. in the lehigh valley, you're likely to see more sunshine than the rest of the area, a few scattered clouds right now. those be thinning out. a nice breeze out of the west, 13 miles an hour. partly sunny, 68 agrees. that's at 4:00 this afternoon. part of the south, south jersey, the clouds will be increasing after some morning sunshine. 68 degrees at lunch time. we'll top out in the low 70s today. cooler at the jersey shore. not by much, though, 63 degrees in delaware. we'll stay dry for central and northern delaware with bright sunshine to start with. 54 degrees at 8:00. by lunch time, 67 degrees and then gets cooler later this afternoon. those winds out of the southwest usually warm things up. the clouds will be coming in and parts of delaware may even see a late-day shower, southern delaware that is. futurecast show the clouds
