weather could make it here, especially overnight sunday into monday. so memorial day may be a washout, but let's focus on today. hot and humid. a very nice day in the forecast to say the least. we have concerns as far as air quality index and we also have a high uv index for today. keep in mind the conditions will be muggy. dew points in the upper 60s to low 70s. by tomorrow, we do have some active weather on the approach as a coastal system, now a tropical development, just starts to push onshore and likely to affect the carolina coastline and it will continue to move northeastward or northward and that's why we'll see unsettled weather late sunday into monday. otherwise, right now temperatures mainly in the 60s. seeing some upper 60s. for most of the region a few low 60s as well. as the day progresses we're certainly going to see the upper 80s to low 90s. right now it looks like the suburbs are seeing mainly clear
skies, upper 60s. lehigh valley. mid to upper 60s and a couple of clouds pushing through ahead of that unsettled weather that's soon to approach by later tomorrow. otherwise, high temperatures for today. delaware seeing low 90s. a few clouds at best. mostly clear skies for today. that's certainly good news. futurecast. i started at 5:00 a.m. notice how we're starting to see a little bit of spotty showers just offshore. really not much going on. just daytime heating. a lot of time the clouds just build up into the atmosphere and a few sprinkles at best is maybe what you'll see. notice that by tomorrow we're starting to see some clouds developing from the southeast. and that's because we do have coastal system, the tropical development. so sunday into monday looks like a washout. early monday morning especially. keep in mind you may see some localized flooding. i emphasize that especially because this is a holiday weekend. so again, today is the pick of the holiday weekend.
get on out there and enjoy. i know rosemary and i certainly will do that as soon as we're done here because by later tomorrow into monday it's going to be not as nice. notice how quickly everything starts to clear on out. by tuesday we may see spotty showers. otherwise, a wider perspective here, we'll see the showers creep in by later tomorrow. enjoy if you are headed up to enjoy pretty much the lake area. tomorrow temperatures are going to top out in the 80s. i want you to see here 74 degrees by monday, a cold front pushing on through. so today is the pick of memorial day weekend. back to you. >> thanks, erica. the memorial day weekend is a very busy time, of course, at the jersey shore and the delaware beaches, especially when you've got temperatures creeping up to 90. but those are not the only places where you can find family fun. ♪ ♪ >> tonight at 7:00, the philly pops and the mann center for

>> reporter: the drill we documented was quiet, orderly and quick. it took two minutes to evacuate the school. the log shows this is the seventh drill this year with four weeks left of school. >> it would be one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. there will be eight done. >> reporter: so it's two short. >> yes. >> reporter: are you going to make an effort to do ten? >> well, to do the ten would be compliant, but it's one a month. so, you know, in my opinion, then, just doing that would be just to do the compliance issue, if i'm told to do that, yeah, absolutely. >> reporter: the principal says he's now assigned someone to specifically document when a fire drill happens. he said resources are an issue and to do a fire drill you need a certain number of staff, depending on the day or the budget, a principal may or may not have enough. for the investigators, i'm mitch blocker. step nbc10 news. 5:27 on this saturday.
