their home in gloucester county. authorities charge their son with the killing. investigators are working to find out what led up to this. and now it's a murder investigation. an eight-year-old girl caught in the crossfire in camden has died, days after she was shot in the head. a reward now even higher for information leading to her killer's arrest. and here is a live look outside at center city this morning. we have another hot weekend on tap, but you will notice some less humidity. details ahead in our first alert neighborhood forecast. good morning. welcome to nbc 10 news today, i'm lauren mayk.

it's 5:00 on this saturday morning. let's get right to your neighborhood forecast with meteorologist krystal klei with a look at what we can expect on this saturday. >> we're looking today at a forecast that we mentioned hot but not quite as humid as yesterday. i was out and about on friday and it felt sticky in the afternoon. we're looking at today a little better off even though the heat still going to be something we have to deal with. also on your sunday we're going to be staying on the dry side of things but hot as well. close to those 90s tanning through both saturday and sunday. as we move ahead could we be seeing another heat wave? it certainly looks like that's going to be a possibility in our forecast with more 90s as we move into your next workweek as well. looking at radar and satellite now not a lot to track out there. going to be a dry one. don't expect rain today, we do expect the sunshine to be affecting us. as you get out today it will feel better than yesterday but the sunscreen a very important element to your afternoon.

right now your temperatures here we are sitting at 65 mt. pocono, allentown 64 degrees. then temperatures a bit higher, philadelphia 74 degrees, low 70s in northeast philadelphia into trenton as well as 70 and even into atlantic city 70 that temperature you see right now. look at cape may, 77 degrees for the temperature currently that we're sitting at. temperatures ranging from 60s to 70s. as as we move into the afternoon we're talking upper 80s to 90s. we're going to talk more about those 90s in the forecast and also going to take a look at if we see any showers in that extended forecast for you. that's all coming up in just a few minutes. autopsies are scheduled today for this south jersey couple found murdered inside their home and the suspect police arrest sd their own son. a relative discovered the bodies of edward and rosemarie coles

yesterday at their home. police say the relatives told officers the couple's son, ryan coles, was also in the home. nbc 10 learned that edward coles worked as a repair technician at the music shop he once owned but sold to his cousin. the news came as a shock. >> we have people and customers who come specifically to us because of ed's work and reputation. i will just miss ed's sense of humor. >> authorities charged ryan coles with the death of his parents. he was taken to a hospital for evaluation before going to jail. investigators are working to find a motive in the case. new from overnight, a 19-year-old man is in stable condition after he was shot during an attempted robbery. police say two men tried to steal his bike in germantown. the victim fought back and that's when he was shot. the two attackers took off empty handed. an eight-year-old girl who was shot in the head by a stray

bullet in camden has died. gabrielle hill-carter was taken off life support yesterday. gabby was playing near her home on spruce street wednesday when several men started shooting at each other. she was caught in the crossfire. authorities put out a $12,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of gabby's killer. two police officers had minor injuries from this accident in north philadelphia. sky force 10 was over west montgomery avenue and north 23rd street last night. police tell us a car hit several police vehicles before crashing into a wall. the driver is under arrest. now to a developing story. nbc 10 has confirmed the fbi requested documents from philadelphia mayor jim kenney's campaign, a campaign representative said it is fully complying with the request but can't tell us what type of documents they're providing or what prompted all of this. kenny was elected mayor last november after several decades

on city council. in bucks county police are looking for a pair of pick pocketers targeting unsuspecting mothers. take a look at this video from inside a chick-fil-a in ben salem township. police say on wednesday the man and this couple moved close to two women sitting with their children, the man grabbed a wallet from the purse of one of those mothers. police say he then spent $1600 at the target store across the street. >> that's the most angering thing, i think, is that you're so close -- they were so close to my kids and -- yeah. who would do something like that? >> police suspect the pair are responsible for other thefts and they're warning women not to sling their bags over chairs. if you recognize the couple in the video,p call police. beach season is quickly drawing to a close as down the shore people wiare making the mt of the last weekends of summer

despite all of that heat and so the rough surf. >> it's a great atmosphere. a lot of people, family, kids, there's rides. we did the rides. >> vendors and visitors on the boardwalk in atlantic city are thankful for the start of another sunny weekend. when it gets too hot, well, people head for the water. many shore lifeguards are already back at school so the beach patrol says you may see some changes the next couple of weeks. >> as we get tighter obviously we are going to increase some restrictions. >> as the atlantic city lifeguards packed up for the night our crew saw more people headed into the water. a patrolman on an atv tried to warn them of the danger especially with the high rip current risk this weekend. the death toll rises as central italy struggles in the aftermath of this week's earthquake. we will tell you about the role dogs are playing in the rescue and recovery efforts. plus, there is a major break in the case of the two nuns who were murdered in mississippi.

welcome back. we are looking live right now philadelphia, still dark out there, sun not yet up. things feel okay as we kick off your mornings, we just saw temperatures are in the 70s and we are looking in philadelphia 74 as the current temperature. sky conditions will be clear as we start why you are morning and move into your afternoon. a lot of sunshine in today's forecast. mid 70s as we hit 8:00 a.m., then upper 80s by the lunch hour. we should cap those temperatures in the low 90s today with around 90 your temperature at 4:00 p.m. then we move over into the suburbs, similar, maybe slightly lower in your high temperatures, 73 at 8:00 a.m., lunch hour mid 80s and upper 80s into your upper afternoon. into the lehigh forecast a little lower, kicking off your morning around 70 at 8:00 a.m. but moving into the upper 80s by the afternoon.

delaware through parts of new jersey a lot of sunshine out there, maybe a few spotty clouds into your afternoon, otherwise a lot of sunshine. mid 80s at noon in delaware, 89 by 4:00 p.m., upper 80s in new jersey by 4:00 p.m. look at the shore, though, got some relief there. you see that we start in those mid 70s, very similar to elsewhere, but we only get to 83 at noon and right around those low 80s continuing through 4:00 p.m. that's going to be your relief location for the next several days. so coming up in a few minutes we are going to take a closer look at your shore cast, we are also going to look at these high temperatures for august and how many more 90 degree days we could see coming up. well, it certainly was a humid night at penn's landing. they enjoyed that music for free at the great plaza.

here is a live look in center city at the comcast building and the skyline there. if you've opened up your windows or stepped outside early this morning you will notice it is not quite as humid today. a nice surprise on this saturday morning. the death toll from the earthquake in central italy is now at 284. most of the victims are from the town of amatrice. at least 15 people are still unaccounted for there. the mayor says aftershocks damaged two crucial access roads possibly cutting off the town. he's working with authorities to find alternative routes to get

aid to the victims. the italian government declared today a day of national mourning. italy's president will attend a state funeral scheduled for today, a funeral mass for several of the victims was held yesterday. hundreds of mourners attended. rescue dogs are helping to search for -- search the rubble for survivors. the dogs are useful in the first days after an earthquake, they can sense the presence of people and have access to areas where heavy machinery can't be used. dozens of dogs are reportedly searching for victims in several different towns. new from overnight, a man is under arrest in the murders of these two nuns in mississippi. the sisters were found stabbed to death in their home thursday night. police found their missing car a mile away. the nuns provided medical care and counseling for their small town located in the second poorest county in the nation. police are holding the suspect on capital murder charges. now to decision 2016 and an nbc news exclusive.

donald trump's personal physician said it took him just five minutes to write a letter declaring the republican candidate would be the healthiest president ever elected. >> i thought about it all day and at the end -- i get rushed and i get anxious when i get rushed so i try to get four or five lines done as fast as who believe. >> dr. harold bornstein has been trump's position for 35 years. the four paragraph letter he wrote about trump's health last december is now getting more attention in light of questions raised by trump about the health of democratic candidate hillary clinton. her doctor said she has no serious health issues. the state department says it will not finish releasing hillary clinton's daily schedules of meetings while she was secretary of state before election day. that report from the "associated press." a federal judge ordered the department to begin releasing them months ago. the trump campaign claims clinton gave special access to

donors of her family's charitable foundation. clinton denies that. clinton is attacking trump for his record on race. here is what she said on msnbc yesterday. >> he has been sued for housing discrimination against communities of color, he has attacked a judge for his mexican heritage. >> yesterday both candidates released ads portraying the other as racist, clinton ridiculed trump's attempts to reach out to my mortgage voters, trump slammed clinton about her comments 20 years ago about gang members. two groups are ramping up efforts targeting philadelphia voters. yesterday the groups for pennsylvania's future and the national counsel of laraza opened an office in north philadelphia. they will canvas neighborhoods to recruit democratic voters. a judge has temporarily blocked the university of north carolina from forcing three people to follow the so-called hb-2 restroom law.

the judge ruled the university must allow two students and an employee to use restrooms matching their gender identity. the hb-2 law passed in march requires transgender people to use restrooms that correspond to the sex on their birth certificates rather than their gender identity. the firestorm over epipen prices plus americans hit the road. cnbc's courtney reagan takes a look at those stories and more from the past week in business. >> anger over soaring drug prices finds aĆ”>p focus and it the epipen. mylan labs has come under withering criticism for more than win it upling the list price of the treatment for allergic reactions. mylan responded with an offer of coupons to help cover out-of-pocket costs for patients but says that the company doesn't plan on lowering the list price. politicians including senators and presidential candidate hillary clinton are calling for more to be done to lower drug costs. americans are getting back on the roads.

60s in parts of south jersey. they're showing us sun is not yet out so i don't blame you if you're still in bed. let's talk more about philadelphia here looking at temperatures in your neighborhood. we do have some 60s out there. we are at 76 for written house, fox chase 71 degrees and bustleton sitting at 70, somerton right in those mid 60s at 65 degrees to kick off your saturday morning. on our radar and satellite not a lot to talk about now. we have those clear to mostly clear conditions in the forecast today, a lot of clouds and showers that are sitting well to our west. we are talking out near st. louis stretching through to chicago. that's not going to be affecting our forecast. we have a very dry forecast over the in ex few days, that means your weekend dry and hot. very hot end to a hot month. we have had a lot of 90s this august. if you take a look here we see that today forecasting high of

91, yesterday we hit 93, tomorrow it will be a close call, calling for 89 degrees but then it looks like we could hit another heat wave, at 92 for monday, tuesday and wednesday. so this will be the end of your august ending on that high note in the 90s. then a cool down as we drop off and get ready for that labor day weekend, you see those mid 80s to lower 80s to end thursday, friday of your workweek, that's something we will keep a close eye on for you and update those numbers as we get closer to the end of your workweek. also looking at shore relief. if you are not loving on 90s in the forecast you can head to the shore where things will be a little better for your weekend. 83 avalon. 81 on your sunday, margate same numbers on the board. mostly sunny across parts of new jersey along the shore. into delaware rehoboth beach 83 both saturday and sunday and those water temperatures looking pretty good right around the mid 70s up to possibly low 80s. it looks like mostly checking in

right now low mid 70s for those water temperatures. here is a look at your ten day on 10. today 91, tomorrow 89, then as that stretch of low 90s through wednesday. we could see our next chance of showers on wednesday with maybe some pocket thunderstorms. thursday into friday we have those mid to low 80s. as we end your next weekend, your labor day weekend which may still be adjusted here, mid to upper 80s right on through to your labor day on monday at 89 degrees. today it will be top honors for two olympic champions from new jersey. laurie hernandez will get a heroes welcome in her hometown of old ridge middle sex county. she is the youngest member of the u.s. gold medal team in rio. a special tribute is planned today for olympic swimmer kelsey royale. they will host a reception in afternoon. in rio she took gold in the

officers arrest a son and authorities charge him with killing his parents. the couple was found dead in their home in west deptford. we will tell you about the next mo of in this investigation. it will be pretty busy at the jersey shore this weekend as we head into the final few weekends of the summer season. we will have a look at what's going on. and the weather, it's pretty perfect for a summer shore weekend. this, though, is a look at boathouse row in philadelphia. it will be hot and summer -- and sunny today, but there will be less
