believe. right? let's get right to meteorologist bill henley and the neighborhood forecast. hi, bill, what's august got for us? >> it is going to feel like another august day. it's going to be another hot day for philadelphia. if you're looking for relief, the shore, you'll find it with afternoon temperatures in the low 80s. the fog this morning has really disappeared at the shore. it was never thick at the shore, inland new jersey, seeing some of the thick fog. this is the view from the marquis de lafayette hotel. that rip current risk you mention will be an issue on through the holiday weekend. fog, though, that will disappear this morning. zero visibility in quakertown. that's the worst we've seen this morning. the fog is more widespread in new jersey. mt. holly, half mile visibility. the fog thickens as we go to the south. millville, quarter mile visibility and dense fog for much of delaware as well. the fog will disappear. you can see the low clouds in the suburbs. that's a view from king of prussia this morning. 72 degrees at 9:00. partly sunny skies this

afternoon at noontime, 84 degrees in king of prussia. the lehigh valley, the clouds overhead, those clouds will disappear to later this morning and re-appear this afternoon. it won't be the low clouds later today. the clouds come in with a chance of showers this evening. during the day today, it stays dry. and philadelphia, 90 degrees this afternoon. if you're looking for cooler temperatures, the place to be is the shore. afternoon temperatures in the low 80s. i'll go through the forecast hour by hour when i'm back in a few minutes. jessica boyington with an updatç of the roads. new cass until delaware this morning, an overturned tractor-trailer is tie things up on 95. it's the ramp. that's at least some good news there. we're not seeing big increase in drive times there on 95 on the highway but the ramp to route 202 around exit 5 is still blocked with that tractor-trailer scene this morning. also watching an accident on 422 around paulings road and route 1, the boulevard, around wissahickon avenue. no big problems in either

direction. good drive times here, the southbound side head the towards the schuylkill expressway, not seeing any big delays yet. we'll check in with more construction and we'll update you in delaware when i come back, rosemary. >> thank you. this morning, we are following breaking news. an overturned tractor-trailer as you heard jessica just mention is causing problems on a delaware road. this is exclusive video from shortly after the wreck this morning. nbc 10's pamela osborne is live in new castle, delaware, with an update on the crash and, pam, these are strangers, driving in the overnight hours and came to this trucker's rescue. >> that's right, rosemary. they saw this accident take place. they jumped in right away to help. >> i really didn't see it coming. it happened so fast. >> reporter: that man's car was hit by the tractor-trailer before it flipped. witnesses tell us the driver of the big rig was on 295. he was attempting to merge on to

the southbound lanes of 95 when he lost control. that truck traveled across three lanes of traffic before hitting a double guide rail and overturning on to the 202 ramp. other drivers who saw the crash, they jumped in to help, they called 911 and tried to help the truck driver and a passenger who was trapped inside of that cab get out safely. the two people inside of the truck as well as a gentleman that we interviewed right there before, he went to the hospital, all suffered minor injuries in this crash, as jessica mentioned, rather, there is still a bit of blockage there because of that big rig being tipped over. we'll let you know just as soon as that accident clears. reporting live in new castle county, pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. >> pam, thank you. also breaking this morning, philadelphia police are looking for a hit and run driver who killed a man on a motorcycle. a gmc yukon collided with this

motorcycle at whitaker avenue in juniata. the police found the yukon abandoned with the plates removed. they're tracking down the owner right now. the 58-year-old victim lives a phi blocks from the scene. also this morning, philadelphia police are looking for two gunmen who shot and wounded three people leaving a corner store, including a 12-year-old girl. the shooting happened on west clearfield street at around 6:30 last night. the 12-year-old was at the glass door when shots went off, hitting her in the right thigh. police say she and a man who was hit in the ankle are in stable condition. another man hit in the neck, not so lucky. he's in critical condition. police recovered two guns but don't know the motive for the shootings. they're looking at surveillance video from the corner store for any leads. a former trenton police officer is dead and his wife is charged with killing him. florida police arrested jan

satkowski on monday. florida police say she suffocated her husband, henry, in his hospitalç room. in april, henry had routine back surgery and never regained consciousness. the couple moved to florida in 2003 after henry retired from the trenton police department. today, the delaware county council will mark international overdose awareness day. the use of narcan has saved people from overdoses. today the focus is on helping overdose survivors and addicts recover from drug abuse. members of the county's recovery specialist program which launches in april will talk about connecting overdose survivors with treatment programs. pennsylvania's new attorney general will report for duty this morning. >> the state senate unanimously confirmed bruce beemer as the state's top prosecutor. he was sworn in privately yesterday in governor tom wolf's offices. he replaces convicted felon kathleen kane as attorney general. yesterday, beemer told state lawmakers he hopes to restore a sense of honor and integrity to

the office. beemer will serve the last five months of kane's terming in the winner of the general election in november. democrat josh shapiro will face off against rafferty in that election. yesterday, governor chris christie vetoed raising the state's minimum wage to $15 over the next five years. christie said that increase will put too much of a burden on small businesses. democrats hope to put the measure on the november ballot. right now the minimum wage stands at $8.38 in new jersey. in pennsylvania, workers make $7.25 and in delaware, the minimum wage there is $8.25 an hour. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> clouds overhead, some fog, too. you can see it in this live view from here at the nbc 10 studios. if you're heading out, the thickest fog is in new jersey this morning. there are a few spots of dense

fog in pennsylvania. it will not last. we'll see a sunny and warm day today. the temperatures climbing in philadelphia to near 90 degrees. you'll see fair weather clouds developing this afternoon but showers, that's a possibility this evening. clouds will be moving in and evening showers will be scattered around, especially late this evening. and then the chance of showers overnight tonight and into tomorrow. right now, 60s and 70s. not as cool as yesterday for most spots. the lehigh valley is the exception. 61 degrees right now. the suburbs, 68. thick fog in delaware and south jersey where it's 65 degrees and 72 degrees right now in philadelphia. not as cool this morning. manayunk is in the 70s. more humanity and clouds overhead. that's keeping the temperatures warmer in northeast philadelphia as well and back into the middle 70s this morning, similar to yesterday morning in center city. beyond the fog, satellite and radar clear for the area but you can see the clouds that are off to the north and west. and this is the chance of showers for later today. this is a cold front that's

going to be coming through the area. the shower threat, you can see rochester getting storms right now. the greatest threat for our area will be overnight tonight and into tomorrow. during the day today, you'll need your sunglasses. leave the umbrella at home during the day at least. 76 degrees at 9:00. by 5:00 this afternoon in philadelphia, 88 degrees. likely hit 90 degrees this afternoon and get close to the upper 80s for the suburbs. the fog disappears this morning in the suburbs and the lehigh valley. you'll see sunshine to start with. some of those clouds coming in later in the day and clouds increasing into this evening. that's when we'll get a chance of showers for the area. sunshine and delaware,ç look at the warmup. by 1:00, 86 degrees and in new jersey, the fog will be slow to clear to begin with. we'll start to see sunshine at 9:00 and bright sunshine this afternoon, 86 at 1:00. 88 degrees at 5:00 this afternoon. humidity is going to stay on the low side like it was yesterday. at the shore, partly cloudy skies, 80s this afternoon.

we'll take a look at the 10 day on 10 when i'm back in a few minutes. it seems like there were more cars on the schuylkill in the 5:00 hour than there were now. >> it might have been a different spot. this is right around the boulevard. we're still okay. into center city. it is still a little bit early. it's one of the last weeks before school starts. maybe a lot of people are not heading out the door at the same time. that might be a combination of a few things. right around the boulevard, no big problems or delays yet. 13 minutes right now into center city, eastbound from the blue route to the vine street expressway and speeds also into the 50s. we're watching for some construction over in new jersey on 295. headed northbound between 130 at exit 13 and woodbury heights and exit 24a. that will be there -- supposed to be there until 6:00 this morning. watch for people clearing out of

6:15 right now on this wednesday. here's a live look in lindenwold, camden county where it's just about 70 degrees there right now. as you can see, some of that fog that was really closing in on the area a little bit earlier has started to lift a little bit it seems. meteorologist bill henley will have your neighborhood forecast and the rest of the details in just a few minutes. in other news, singer chris brown is out of jail on $250,000 bail. >> he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. police searched his home yesterday after a woman claimed the 27-year-old singer pulled a gun on her while on the property. brown posted several videos on social media claiming his innocence. the singer was convicted for a 2009 assault of his then girlfriend rihanna. overnight, police in milwaukee arrested ten people gathered in the neighborhood where an african-american man was shot by police earlier this month. investigators say police arrested the protesters last

night because they refused to leave the area. meanwhile, in another case in chicago, the police department filed termination charges for five of its officers. one of those officers is facing murder charges for shooting and killing laquan mcdonald, an unarmed black teenager 16 times. the four others are charged with making false reports about what they saw that night in 2014. hawaii is preparing for two hurricanes, hurricane lester is churning in the pacific ocean and could hit hawaii this weekend. this is video from the international space station. before that, hurricane madeline could hit this week. cf1 o to bring hurricane force conditions. the governor already declared a state of emergency in anticipation of the storm, crews have started to stack sandbags on highways that are prone to flooding. crews have also cleaned out the entrances of canals in order to

minimize flood damage. down the shore, swimmers should be careful. there are knee deep to waist deep restrictions still in place today in ocean city, the rip current risk signs are posted all along the beach there. also boogie boards and floats are not allowed in the water because of the dangerous rip currents along the shore. 6:18. hate to say it but people's vacations down the shore starting to come to a close. everybody is starting to head back to work. >> let's check in with jessica boyington to see how it looks there. a little foggy where you are. 422. >> yes, a little foggy. reduced visibility in the area, 422. these are our cameras around trooper road. you can see right over here, there's police activity on the scene. looks like penndot crews there as well. a slow go by the scene. on top of it, we're having poor visibility. behind this we're having big backups. not a lot of gaper delay on

other side but with that reduced visibility plus this accident scene, we'll see a mess on 422. we'll check in on drive times in a few minutes. new jersey, foggy conditions as well. here's route 73 around the atlantic city expressway. not a lot of cars out the door there. other than that we are still watching over in delaware. a few things still going on in new castle. there's an overturned tractor-trailer blocking the ramp from 95 southbound to route 202. which is around exit 5. no major delays, though, reported on 95 at this time because of that. again, we're looking back at 422. some of those delays, this is around where that accident scene was. you can see the delays on our map system right in here. other than that, 422 looking okay. we'll check in with drive times from 422 and that accident scene when i'm back in ten minutes. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> sunshine getting ready to come up. we're about ten minutes away from sunrise. bright sunshine at the shore. this is a live view from cape may in new jersey this morning.

it might be limited to start with especially in interior new jersey, that's where we're seeing fog. delaware seeing some fog in some spots of the suburbs as well. exton is 62 degrees right now, malvern is 65. and it is in the 70s, low 70s in newtown and warrington. quakertown is seeing some of the thickest fog in the area. the fog will be disappearing. that thick fog will burn off as the temperatures climb this afternoon. they will be heading into the low 90s in philadelphia. upper 80s for quakertown today. right now, quarter mile visibility. that's an improvement in just the last few minutes. half mile visibility in mt. holly and it's interior new jersey and into delaware that's seeing widespread fog to start with. we're tracking some showers and thunderstorms today. they wouldn't be here during the day. the first chance of those storms is coming in overnight tonight and tomorrow. the chance will be increasing tomorrow for philadelphia. not a great chance for delaware

or the reading area. tomorrow afternoon, atlantic city could see a shower or thunderstorm. the line of showers that i'm following is to the north this morning, extends into western new york. that's a cold front. on the other side of that is some very comfortable air that will be arriving just in time for theç holiday weekend. but tonight and tomorrow, the clouds will be moving into our area. late this afternoon, there's a chance of scattered showers to the north and west. the chance increases as we go into the late afternoon and evening hours. this is 7:30 this evening. possibility of showers and thunderstorms to our southwest. then we go into the late evening hours. we can see the storms in central delaware and the showers and thunderstorms will be lingering into tomorrow. you'll need your umbrella tomorrow but not today. you'll need your sunglasses. fog disappears, 90 degrees in philadelphia. not as hot with the storms tomorrow. 85 the high and here comes really comfortable weather. the humidity way down and cooler, too, for friday,

forecast. >> some neighborhoods are getting it worse than others. fog not an issue in philadelphia. look oned to new jersey, that's where the thickest fog is this morning. quakertown, a quarter mile visibility. not bad in trenton or northeast philadelphia. wrightstown seeing dense fog. it extends into south jersey and delaware as well. a foggy start for much of the area. sunshine, it's just coming up right now. the temperatures will be coming up. the fog will disappear this morning. we will see sunshine. right now, clouds over the lehigh valley, some low clouds, no fog in easton right now. with sunshine, we will see the temperatures into the 80s this afternoon. and for the suburbs, too, you can see the skies are starting to brighten. king of prussia, will see mostly sunny skies. the fog around now will be disappearing. 72 degrees at 9:00 and 84 degrees this afternoon. for philadelphia, 90 degrees the high temperature. the rest of the area will get a warm day, even at the çshore, into the low 80s later today.

i'll go through the forecast hour by hour to show you how quickly the temperatures will climb and when the fog will clear. jessica boyington has your first alert traffic. watching 422. our cameras around trooper road, reduced visibility here. i only kept this because we had an earlier accident scene in the area. it looks like it cleared. at least i'm assuming so. it looks like there are big backups or delays headed eastbound by the scene. plus, reduced visibility in the area as well. route 73 in berlin, new jersey around jackson road. a lot of heavy fog, reduced visibility but not a lot of volume in the area. parts of new jersey showing that heavy fog. in new castle county, this overturned tractor-trailer is turning out to be something that might be here for quite some time. that 95 southbound ramp from 202 and route 141, basin road. that's still blocked with that tractor-trailer. all the southbound lanes of 95 are open. we expect this ramp to be closed for cleanup for quite some time, at least for a good part of the

morning. vai? >> thank you, jessica. more breaking news on that situation in new castle county that jessica was just talking about. this tractor-trailer crash causing problems on the road this morning. this exclusive video showing the scene of the wreck, strangers came to the rescue of the truck driver behind the wheel. nbc 10's pamela osborne is live in new castle for us. pam, tell us how this all unfolded. >> well, vai, this happened just after 1:00 this morning. luckily for that truck driver, and the passenger he had in his cab, there were people driving in the area who saw what happened, who saw that truck overturn on its side. our overnight news photographer, pete cain was on 295, headed to another accident when he saw the tractor-trailer flip over. witnesses tell us the driver of the big rig was attempting to merge on to the southbound lanes of 95 when he lost control. that truck traveled across three lanes of traffic before hitting a double guide rail and

overturning on the ramp to 202. other drivers who saw the crash jumped in to help. they called 911 and tried to get that truck driver and his passenger out safely. we talked to the driver of the other car involved in the accident, before he was taken to the hospital. >> the truck tried to come between the lane, he trying to cut over, he was in the far lane. he tried to cut into my lane. he hit all the guardrails, hit my car, messed my whole car up. >> a total of three people, including that gentleman we spoke to there, the truck driver as well as his passenger all suffered minor injuries in the accident. police telling us it's going to be a while before that exit ramp is clear again for traffic to move. before they can get rid of that rig, they have to unload it. that is going to take some time. reporting live in new castle county, i'm pamela osborne, nbc 10 news. >> thanks to are that, pamela.

also breaking this morning, philadelphia police are looking for a hit and run driver who killed a man on a motorcycle. a gmc yukon collided with the motorcycle at whitaker and lewden avenues at juniata park last night. the driver of the yukon took off. officers followed a trail of motor oil and antifreeze and found the yukon abandoned with the plate removed. they're working to track down the owner. the 58-year-old victimç lived just a few blocks from the scene. this morning, philadelphia police are looking for two gunmen who shot and wounded three people, including a 12-year-old girl as they were all leaving a corner store. the shooting happened on west clearfield street around 6:30 last night. the 12-year-old girl was at the glass door when the gunfire erupted, hitting her in the right leg. police tell us the girl and man who was hit in the ankle are both in stable condition. another man shot in the neck is in critical condition. neighbors say the violence must stop.

overbrook neighborhood. the buildings stood at the corner of lansdowne avenue and 65th street and housed five different congregations. the local faith community is banding together, as expected. >> various con gra gags here and have offered space for worship on sunday, which is more than we can expect. it's been a wonderful outpouring. >> about 300 people use this church weekly. investigators are still trying to figure out exactly what caused the fire. incumbent survived key primary battles. arizona senator john mccain won the nomination to seek a sixth team as a state senator. in florida, senator marco rubio gets to seek a second

term. he beat a republican primary challenged by a millionaire developer. now rubio will face democratic congressman patrick murphy in november. embattled south florida congresswoman debbie wasserman schultz won her primary fight against a challenger backed by bernie sanders. she will run in november for a seventh term. today republican nominee donald trump will travel south of the border to meet with mexico's president. both men confirm the last-minute trip via twitter. the meeting will happen just hours before trump is expected to deliver a major speech on immigration, that scheduled this evening in arizona. trump has made illegal immigration the center piece of his campaign. in philadelphia today, you can register to vote at the courtyard inside city hall. the voter registration event runs from noon until 4:00 this afternoon. you must register to vote by october 11th in order to vote on november 8th. now your nbc 10 first alert weather. >> 22 minutes before 7:00. here's a look at the fog this morning. lindenwo lindenwold, new jersey. thick fog in new jersey but it will be clearing. the temperatures will be climbing. the humidity dropping.

getting up at this hour heading into work. let's check in with gyp. what are you seeing on the cameras? >> that's exactly right. a lot of volume here on 95. we're seeing slow drive times. these are our cameras around girard avenue. into center city right here, the southbound lanes dealing with a 21-minute trip from woodhaven road to the vine street expressway. adding on at least seven, eight minutes or so already. average speeds down into the 30s. let's move over into some of that fog. we're watching new jersey for that. poor visibility around the 4 freeway and the atlantic city expressway. these lanes right in here are headed south. headed towards the shore points. or if you're headed northbound towards philadelphia, doesn't look much better. the cameras having a hard time trying to zoom in on any specific area. traffic is still moving. out in new castle county, we're watching for the overturned tractor-trailer, not blocking any of the lanes at least on 95, headed southbound. the ramp to route 202 and 141 basin road is still blocked with

foggy start for much of new jersey and delaware, but the suburbs already seeing some sunshine. temperatures in the low 60s right now. 60s for delaware and 60s with those clouds and the fog. new jersey, 72 degrees in philadelphia, will warm to near 90 degrees. these temperatures climb from the 60s this morning into the upper 80s this afternoon. right now, perkasie is 69 degrees, ft. washington also at 69. newtown is 70 degrees and st. david's in the upper 60s. that's to start with. a warm day today and a sunny one, too. above the fog, there are no clouds. we will see bright sunshine until later today. look at the showers. to the north, this is shower and thunderstorm activity that will come in with the cold front. it will bring a beautiful weekend weather. it comes with a threat from this storm which is coming together. tropical depression could very well become a tropical storm later today. and the forecast is to take it
