heading to the game. >> we are looking at a forecast today that shifts from the hot and humid weather we've been seeing day after day to a much more pleasant forecast. we are looking at the of showers, spotty at best and the reason for that is the cold front passage. as it passes through that means your afternoon is going to look way better than yesterday, not as hot or as humid, humidity is going to plummet meaning it will feel nice and fall-like outside as we move into the later part of your day. also a much nicer evening. temperatures will drop down in the days to come instead of seeing those high temperatures in the 70s and 80s it will be more like the 60s and 50s. if you want to check the forecast for your neighborhood that seven-day forecast is scrolling at the bottom of your screen. not a lot going on in our area are rolling in, any rains that comes in will come from the west and that will be spotty at best. the clouds will start to move

out as we move later in the day. a wider view shows us where the showers are currently, still over the central parts of pennsylvania. it's already starting to break apart some. so we are not looking at a great chance of rain aside from around the lehigh valley and areas farther north of us. there is a look at your temperatures currently in the 70s, 78 philadelphia, 76 mt. holly at 76 degrees as well but i think by tomorrow morning these numbers will look much different than they )çx right now. taking a look at those temperatures, how much, for instance, philadelphia will change on both your morning low but also afternoon highs. remember yesterday we hit that temperature of 95, not looking like that today. we will talk more about it coming up. the nation pauses today to remember the 15th anniversary of 9/11. memorial ceremonies will be held this morning at ground zero, the pentagon and shanksville tojúd honor the nearly 3,000''óy peo killed in the terror attacks of

2001. new this morning thousands of flags are in place in pen stock in camden county to mark the lives lost on 9/11. overnight volunteers placed flags with the names of the victims at the town's 9/11 memorial. the nighttime flag placement has become an annual ritual. the ceremony will be held at 12:15 with patriotic songs and the release of doves. at 9:30 this morning in old city the philadelphia fire department, police department and first responders will honor the fallen. mayor jim kenney will be there as well.c6f+z it starts at the fireman's hall museum around second and arch and everybody will head over to the betsy ross house for the remembrance ceremony. there will be ceremonies all over our area today. go to or tap the app for a list of events in your communities. this morning bells will toll in bucks county at the garden oh

individual people. >> in camden county people celebrated patriotism in a haden heights church dedicating the end of the program with a specific focus on september 11th. >> i've been wearing a flag every day since then to remember those people,íóh,innocent peopl who died that day. world is a much different place because of what happened that >> something that we as (r thought we would see and it makes it a little difficult. >> but it's moments like this where a strong community finds comfort. later this morning at the eagles game vice president joe biden will take part in a tribute to the first responders. biden will join 120 first responders in holding the american flag during the national anthem. nbc 10's monique braxton is live in south philadelphia this morning where it will be an emotional ceremony there later

on. monique. >> reporter: that's right. so many people in our area lost loved ones and friends on 9/11, let alone the first responders from our area who went to new york just to see what they could do to help out. looking over my shoulder you see the link is all lit up, this is the first time we have ever seen all of the lights on this time of morning. it's going to be a bittersweet day here given the passion for the game with eagles fans. you can also see the barricades are in place. we've also seen workers arriving. it is the eagles opening day. they play the cleveland browns, the start of the 2016 season. there's a new coach, it's doug pederson's first nfl head coaching job and the city is all abuzz about the new quarterback carson wentz. >> it's been pretty busy, obviously -- which is normal, but, you know, getting those reps that i kind of missed out on was really big but they've gone really well, the guys have

patio. looking at the lehigh valley now 77 at noon and then by 4:00 p.m. to 80 your temperature, plenty of sunshine out there, delaware the same as we move later into the day just some scattered clouds will sun and low mid 80s for forecast highs. in new jersey 76 at 8:00 a.m., by lunchtime, 8 # 2. along the jersey shore only warming up into those lower 80s. and those winds today will start to shift in direction so we are going to feel those northerly. again, that starts to dry you out and feel more like a fall day. we will talk more about temperatures dropping into the 70s coming up. several students are expected to be okay after they were overcome by the heat at a high school football game in wilmington. it happened yesterday afternoon at spainer stadium. firefighters and paramedics treated three cheerleaders and fans who got sick. 5:41 on this sunday. coming up on nbc 10 in us today,

fans who got sick. daday . ♪ ♪ after 15 years the wounds of 9/11 still run deep. this ceremony yesterday at st. patrick's cathedral in new york city honored the 343 firefighters who died in the terror attacks. the event also paid tribute to the 127 who died afterward from complications and diseases connected to the recovery efforts. family members spoke of their sacrifice. >> i was only two when he died

so i don't really remember him, but i know he was a hero. even though he is up in heaven he is still in our hearts. >> in preparation for today's memorial services police in new york city have increased their presence. we will have a live report from ground zero. police unions in new jersey and new york are stepping up to show their support for an nfl player who wanted to wear special red, white and blue cleats on the field today but titans line baker avery williamson said he is instead going to auction the shoes to benefit operation warrior wishes. williamson said he doesn't want to cause any trouble after the nfl warned him that he would face a fine for breaking uniform rules if he wore the cleats. nfl rules stipulate that players' shoes must be either white or black with team colors. a number of new york and new jersey police associations told williamson they would pay any fine if he did decide to wear the 9/11 cleats.

the olympic medalist who was the first u.s. athlete to compete while hearing a hijab is now back home in north jersey, hundreds gathered in maim wood to welcome fence e er i believb muhammad. in philadelphia a german down neighborhood shows the love for my a ali. yesterday the 6300 block of sherman street turned into a giant celebration and party in honor of the last leet. friends, family and even local state representatives showed up to cheer for nia one more time.

let's start with your neighborhood temperatures right now. seeing a lot of 70s on the board. look at the lehigh valley, pretty warm, 79 degrees to kick off. we are at 75 in parts of the pennsylvania suburbs and 78 in philadelphia. these temperatures very similar to yesterday, a little warmer than they should be at this point in your morning, but that's all about to change. right now we still have that humid air in place but it will be drying out later today, meaning the afternoon going to feel way better than what we have been seeing. zooming into your philadelphia neighborhoods temperatures are mostly right around the 80s, society hill 79, graduate hospital 78 and then you see those upper 70s as we move farther along, fox chase at 78 and somerton at 77. those numbers all going to be talking 60s as we move into tomorrow morning. along the shore same situation, right now 76 cape may courthouse, may's landing at 75 degrees, that's the same for atlantic city in those mid 70s.

we won't see a ton of warming along the shore today, we are only talking the lower 80s for forecast high temperatures which will feel very nice as that air starts to dry out as well. overall going to be a comfortable forecast along the shore especially. this is what we're dealing with on radar and satellites, we have this cold front sitting over the central part of pennsylvania right now. follow the arrows, that's the direction it's heading so it's moving our way and this is good news for us, it brings in scattered cloud coverage, spot chances of rain early on, but behind this front we've got dryer, cooler air. so it's going to be much more comfortable in your forecast. winds will pick up some today, looking at some breeziness in the forecast for the afternoon, we already felt it this morning, those winds 10 to 15 miles per hour, gust to go 20 miles per hour and it will change that direction to more of a northerly flow meaning that the air is dryer for us in your afternoon. that's much more comfortable on the temperature boards. look at these 80s. this is great. 86 in your philadelphia forecast today, 81 on monday and then you

see it starting to uptick by your wednesday, the same in dover, up to about 89 degrees. allentown, wildwood even dropping down into the 70s for a few days. overall this forecast a much more comfortable one as we move through the next several days. for the eagles season opener later today temperatures will be great. 75 for your tailgating weather, scattered clouds for the kickoff, 1:00 p.m. 81 and 86 degrees for the end of game. now to decision 2016. hillary clinton is stepping back a bit from comments she made about donald trump supporters. >> you could put half of trump's supporters into what i call the basket of dee plor abls. the they're racist, sexist, homophobic, zen phobic, islamaphobe bic, you name it. >> in a statement the democratic presidential nominee says that she was grossly generalist i can and regrets saying half, but

clinton also said she will continue to call out racist rhetoric. donald trump is criticizing clinton's comments saying she made, quote, the worst mistake of the political season. end quote. meantime trump's campaign is trying to win over more women voters in pennsylvania. just yesterday the campaign introduced the pennsylvania women for trump statewide leadership team, the group is made up of more than had a republican women who want to share their message about why they're voting for donald trump. both presidential candidates are marking today's 9/11 anniversary which attending the official commemoration at ground zero. trump is a native new yorker and clinton was senator from new york at the time of the attacks. neither will be on the campaign trail today. continuing the tradition of setting aside partisan politics on this somber anniversary. today's "meet the press" will focus on the issues still raised by the terror attacks of 9/11 and the aftermath. chuck todd will talk with
