liberal voices of the 1960s and beyond is gone. one-time husband of jane fonda passed away after a long illness according to his wife, barbara williams. organizing demonstrations that rocked the nation. some turning violent including one that resulted in a notorious chicago seven trial and he found fame as an author and esteemed lecturer and elected to various posts in california state politics. we'll have much more on the life and impact of a liberal icon later. and now for the race to the white house with just 15 days to the election, the presidential candidates are in an all out sprint until the final votes are cast. barn storming the country in an effort to push their closing arguments. but a new abc poll now has hillary clinton leading by double digits. and despite what trump says on

saying the allegations won't hurt him. >> we're going to do so well with the women it's crazy. >> i'm completely innocent. i've said this before and i i'll say it again, nobody has more respect for women than i do. >> reporter: now, trump has also threatened lawsuits against newspapers like the new york times that have published accounts of those accusers. a lawsuit has yet to be filed. meanwhile, hillary clinton has set her eyes oen the senate, unleashing a barrage of attacks in key battlegrounds across the country. even utalizing president obama to do so. >> now, how much more does pat toomey need to hear? if he doesn't have the courage r curage to stand up to donald trump after all of this, can you be sure he'll stand up for you when it counts against powerful interests?
>> he's spend his time in washington fight for tax breaks voted again and again to defund planned parenthood. shut down the government. progress is on the ballot. stability is on the ballot. tolerance is on the ballot. justice is on the ballot. >> and out of 34 senate races, the battleground for congress is down to six states with republicans defending five. clinton plans to make an aggressive push in the final weeks of the campaign even joining first lady on the trail this week. and the race is being decided each and every day. in fact, over 4 million voters have gone to the polls. and today on the trail, hillary clinton campaigns with massachusetts senator, elizabeth warren in new hampshire, and her vp pick campaigns in florida. and joe biden stumps for her in ohio.
meanwhile, donald trump barn storms through florida while mike pence takes north carolina. and ash carter made a surprise viz tosit to iraq this weekend. he says although he's encouraged they must prepare for a post isis mosul. now this comes as a top u.s. general tells nbc news that isis is attempting to establish a caliphate in afghanistan. here now from mobile, northern iraq. there are news that they have launched a new attack. >> reporter: so the situation is actually along the lines of a lot of tactics isis is using. they've used this in both western anbar province and where i'm standing roith now. this is classic isis diversionary tactics. they attacked a little further
soun and managed to divert the counterterrorism force s from te main heart of the battle in mosul to that area and now attacked rutbah. they launched several different suicide vehicle devices in that town and managed to occupy security forces far away from the front. and so as the pressure comes to bare on isis in mosul, we're going to see more of these diversionary tactics. they're brutal and rather ingenious. >> thank you. at this moment a man hunt is underway for this man. this is michael dale vance jr. who police say was last seen. >> some 8 and half hours ago. he shot two fleepolice officers later seen shooting a woman with an ak-47 before taking off. another suspect involved in the shooting has been arrested.
however, vance remains at large and authorities are asking for anyone with information to come forward. a tragic story out of california. 13 people are dead and 31 more injured following a massive accident involving a charter bus and tractor trailer in california. it was heading to los angeles when it slammed in the back of a travel trailer. the bus was going so fast it went in for about 15 feet. the bus driver, dwreet be identified, was among those killed. here with more. >> reporter: investigator scouring the twisted wreckage after this tour bus slammed into the back of a big rig. firefighters pulling victims from the wreckage just after 5:00 a.m. headed west towards los angeles and rear ended a semitruck on interstate 10 in palm springs.

we're looking at a dry view of philadelphia, boathouse row. the camera is shaking a little bit. that's a pretty big breeze. see some showers moving through harrisburg. look this, parts of bucks county, upperç bucks county an upper central bucks county into new jersey getting a few light rain showers. the showers to the west moving into western berks county right now. these will be falling apart as they swing into the area. they're blowing into town. this will move out. that will be done. no more showers for the rest of the day. first thing this morning you'll likely see rain drops in parts of the area. temperatures warmer than normal. that's 10 degrees above normal. southwesterly winds at 15 miles an hour. it's a breezy one. the winds will turn more westerly and keep things cool. winds gusting to 30 miles an hour in philadelphia. 62 degrees, 61 degrees and windy for the suburbs. look at new jersey, up to 61 degrees. while in the lehigh valley, 59 degrees, the high temperature with a good deal of sunshine and just a few passing clouds.
