joining isis, the jersey shore man who appears in one of the terror group's videos. >> deal or no deal. how the fight over immigration could lead to a government shutdown. >> the more the merrier. how one eagles fan is going to sunday's game with 24 of his closest friends. right now at 11:00, water roads everywhere. these are just some of the pipe problems and water main breaks that have flooded philadelphia neighborhoods in the last month. the problem is so bad the city says it just can't keep up. >> now customers have a new way to send in their complaints. nbc 10's brandon hudson is live in northeast philadelphia to
show us how. >> reporter: you see the huge hole at this bus stop here. there are so many service requests that the wait on the phone is two hours long. so the water department is opening up its twitter and facebook accounts. if you think you're seeing more city crews on water main breaks, you are. and they're working longer hours, at least 16 hour shifts to make up for the surge in breaks. check this out. the water department says it's had more water main breaks in the first two weeks of the year than all of last january. the problem stretches from north broad street to northeast philly. >> in about five separate spots there were water leaks coming out tof the cracks. >> reporter: he lived where a water main break covered the street in ice. the break impacted hid bed and breakfast. >> i wasn't able to make the turn to get into my driveway and
neither were my guests. >> reporter: and chris briefly lost water inside his home today. in the past three weeks the number of water main breaks fixed have at least doubled compared to this time last year. the water main opening up its social media to customer. >> customers should understand no one is ignoring you, no one is not paying attention to your call. >> reporter: it may take months before crews catch up on their backlog. and with the unseasonably warm weather coming at the end of this week and this weekend, they're keeping an eye on the thaw. but before that warmup arrives we have another coldn h night ahead. >> it's bitterly cold out there already. take a look at the numbers. 10 in lee high valley, 13 in the
suburb, 23 in south jersey and 24 along the jersey shore. let's take a closer look at some of these neighborhoods. this will be the last truly f j frigid night. white hall 10, 13 in easton. that's where all that snow fell earlier this morning. north wells, 15 right now. these are not the wind chills. it is 16 in exten, and oxford at 18 degrees. now let's go to philadelphia where they're having all the trouble with those pipes. park side 19, 21 in bustleten, 20 in summerton. we'll be in the teens tonight but a big warmup is on the way, and we are going to be featuring 50 fs for the weekend. new at 11:00, an innocent bystander is in the hospital
tonight after she was shot at a bus stop. about 18 shots were fired just before 9:30. police are still looking for the gunman. now to an nbc 10 exclusive. tonight we've confirmed a man with ties to the jersey shore is featured in an isis propaganda video calling for attacks on u.s. soil. in the video which was released in may he urges lone wolf attacks against the united states. first reported by the atlantic. federal court records believed he traveled to syria and joined isis in april 2015. today we caught up with his mother. she says she's been troubled about her son spending time at an area mosque. >> he hates people. yeah, that mosque he hate it, and i say don't go to that mosque. >> he's a 2010 graduate of
atlantic city high school. his mother says she last heard from him one year ago. murder charges are filed tonight in the stabbing death of a penn student found buried in a california park. 20-year-old samuel woodward is accused of killing him while he was home on winter break. now detectives looking for evidence of a possible hate crime. investigators believe bernstein may have tried to romantically pursue his former high school classmate. today the city filed a lawsuit against the pharmaceutical companies that make the addictive drugs. leaders contend they use deceptive marketing. the city is seeking million tuesday repay costs associated with fighting the epidemic. medical marijuana took another major step forward today in pennsylvania. today the first medical marijuana dispensary in the state opened its doors.
key stow remedies held its opening today. doctors say medical marijuana can help patients suffering from a host of conditions. the company will start accepting patients by midfebruary. women across our area are getting ready to make history again. today they got together to make signs to carry in the march in philadelphia. it follows last january's womens march who drew hundreds of thousands of women to cities around the world. this year's event has been dubbed power to the poll. >> we need to send a strong message to our legislators that we are united on issues such as daca, that so many of our students depend on. >> it march sets off from logans square in center city at 10:30 saturday morning.

there's nothing you can say or do to make jerry wood give up his tickets for the game. he's been a season ticket holder for 45 years. his group of die hard eagles fans includes 29 others. >> now you say the golden ticket and all. >> this is my ticket in 2004, 2005. >> reporter: brian cole drove to wisconsin with his friends the last time the eagles went to the super bowl. and he tells nbc 10 his friends will do anything to be at the super bowl if the eagles get there. he went on kracraigslist a few weeks ago. so what about ticket for the nfc championship game? >> i'll do it for a pinkie.

medical conditions from birth and each of them got to spend the day with a philadelphia athlete. tonight those players were there to present the kids with their award. coming up it promises easy cash, but experts warn there's a catch. the theme that's spreading quickly on social media. why local voters are telling their lawmakers to take a stand. and investigators have some tough words of the man accused of leaving his girlfriend to die in an icy crash. and nbc 10 is your official eagles station. here's a look at all of of our exclusive coverage for sunday's big game.
river. this is new cellphone video of a car being pulled out of the frigid waters. sunday in burlington new jersey, police say stephanie white was killed when the car being driven by her boyfriend jacob garret plunged into the river. garret who was driving on a suspended license managed to get out of the water but he left his girlfriend behind. >> when he crashed the vehicle into the water, he got out and ran away. that's an offense in itself. >> i can't believe he was such a cowered and left her there. >> garret scheduled to face a judge friday morning. now to a developing story on capitol hill. congress running out of time to avoid a government shutdown. some democratess say they won't support any deal that doesn't help the d.r.e.a.m.ers. nbc 10 drew smith live in our news center. are democrats really willing to
shutdown the government over the issue? >> this is one of the few areas democrats have leverage. the senate bill needs 60 votes in the senate. that's impossible to achieve without support from both sides. a call to shut the government down. >> what do we want? >> reporter: people in allentown held candles all in support of the d.r.e.a.m.ers, people brought here illegally as children. >> i know someone who has ptsd over this. and every night they're stressed out if i.c.e. is going to come to the door. >> reporter: a compromise which offers legal status to the d.r.e.a.m.ers along with stronger border security and enforcement. >> that's what governing is all about. it's about making tough decisions in order to advance the greater good. >> reporter: republicans say they're open to a solution but
it's unclear what the president will sign. >> it makes no sense for democrats to try and bring us to a shutdown. >> reporter: but without a deal it could happen. something these activists insist is necessary. >> i would hope that our government can find some compassion. >> reporter: as for the d.r.e.a.m.ers, it's a wait and see. >> i don't know all of our friends are going to do. and they tell us how constantly how anxiety ridden they are. it's affecting their eating habits, their sleeping habits. >> reporter: military troops would potentially not get paid and national parks would close. a warning tonight about a new pyramid scheme taking social media by storm. you've probably seen it yourself. the idea is you invest $150, recruit 14 other people for your group. and walk away with $1,200. each group member works their way up by recruiting to get the

spectacular weekend, at least temperature-wise. now, look at the temperature. 25 in denver. all of those are warmer than the 22 we have right now in philadelphia. so we have warm air out to the west of us. it's just not going to be here until the weekend. 8 right now in pittsburgh, 21 in d.c. let's look at your neighborhood. 9 in allentown, 18 in wilmington, looking at 22 in dover, 20 in trenton and 24 in atlantic city. doppler radar is all quiet. the storms from this morning, well it jumped to about 0.2 of an inch in poconos. now we're looking at clearing, and it is going to be a crisp night. here we go hour by hour. the winds still out of the north and northwest. tomorrow we have plenty of sunshine but still cold in the 30s. we bump up into the 40s and
watch what happens. late friday night those winds are going to turn to the southwest. that takes us into the 50s for the weekend ahead. let's go a bit further. i'm going to go wide. we are going to be quiet through the weekend. clouds start to increase friday evening during the eagles game, but the rain stays off to the west of us. we have a big storm system headed our way. but will this be snow? no, monday night into tuesday we are in the warm sector of this storm system. so as it advances the rain will move in monday night mainly and tuesday, but we stay mild. the cold air is to the north of us. so what about kick off? what about this week? this week we'll feel like 50, and last week's game 29 at kick off and it felt like 17. so very, very scenario for this sunday. 50 at kick off, 48 at halftime, and 46 during the fourth quarter, unseasonably warm and very pleasant. i'll have your ten day on ten
