code reds and lockdowns. a busy day at the hamilton county justice center ... where two incidents forced guards to tighten security ... keeping inmates under control ... and visitors 'out.' 9 on your side reporter rose ann aragon spoke with sheriff's deputies ... who explained what happened. rose ann? roe: security tells me code red means there is a disruption with the inmates-- it could be anything from an inmate fight to a fight between an inmate and a guard -- security guards tell me there were 2 code reds today. security locked this place down--where no one could enter

fighting caused a lockdown around noon. that lasted about an hour--another happened just around 3:30-- deputies responded to a disturbance with an inmate in the psyc ward. one man has been trying to visit his son all day--but couldn't sot "told us we can't go up, in and out of elevators etc........." he was one of a long line of people waiting to visit. deputies say code reds are instated for people's safety and they don't happen often--maybe 1-3 times a month. deputies say though that disturbances with inmates in the psych ward are more common than anything else. the code is lifted when things are under control. roe: the second code was lifted after about an hour. the deputy told us there is no need to worry. reporting live ra 9 on your side today the cincinnati fire department is mourning the

department shared the news that firefighter ed chenault of engine 38 passed away at home.according to the post on their facebook page, he was off duty.fire dispatch tells 9 on your side ... chenault was a veteran of more than twenty years in the fire service. the department asks for your thoughts and prayers for his family. appearing in court just a day after being revived with 'narcan' in a white castle parking lot ... ...nathaniel clark pleaded not guilty to drug charges.... receiving 20-thousand dollars bond. clark was found unconscious and not breathing early yesterday morning in a mount healthy parking lot. officers revived him and took him to the hospital ... then charged him with possession of drugs.they are still looking for the person who they say left clark in that parking lot. pleading not guilty ... a man who police say threatened to shoot during a swat standoff in east price hill last night. roberto 'bobby' jordan held off police for hours ... after police arrived to investigate him for allegedly firing shots

jordan eventually surrendered ... officers say they found a loaded gun inside his home.he was arraigned today on 65- thousand dollars total bond for gun charges and a probation violation. also in court this morning ... a man who investigators say dropped his girlfriend's two month old daughter ... causing a brain bleed ... was arraigned on five thousand dollars bond.todd domsher will also have to wear an electronic monitoring device. police say he didn't cooperate when they first questioned him ... and was so disruptive at children's hospital, he was asked to leave. today in winton hills ... people took to the streets to show they're standing strong against violence in their community. community.the 'stop the violence' walk started at winton hills academy this afternoon ... organizers say they're disturbed by recent violence ... not just in their own area, but also in neighboring communities.they wanted to show young people there is strength in numbers ... and they can make good choices. nikki steele - president winton hills community council 4:56 we're getting them started young in taking their community they don't have to

it was a great day for outdoorsmen to be 'indoors' ... at the 'outdoor adventure expo.' expo.'the expo opened yesterday at hte sharonville convention center ... where 130 exhibitors, experts, outfitters and specialists are on hand to help hunters, fishermen, and people who like to camp plan their next adventure.organizers say 90 million people a year participate in outdoor wildlife activities....
