there will be a full freeway closure overnight of i-94 eb at moorland rd. through the zoo interchange for a traffic switch.center st. will reopen tonight at 5 pm following an 8 month closure for bridge and roadway reconstruction.the i-94 eb to i-41/us-45 nb system ramp is now closed long term until spring 2017 for reconstructionall part of the zoo interchange project. hwy 100 will become the main detour while this closure is in place.plan on slow our ?top story this morning..the man killed by a milwaukee police officer nearly two weeks ago will be laid to rest today. syville smith's death sparked unrest throughout the north side of the city. city.his funeral service is today at the christian faith fellowship church on good hope road.that's where cbs 58's julie parise is with our look ahead. julie? today at 10 am family and friends will gather here to say goodbye to syville smith. reverend jesse jackson will

smith was 23 years old when he was shot and killed by a milwaukee police officer nearly two weeks ago. the investigation into smith's death is ongoing.at this time, the family and smith's attorney's are asking for privacy.they are asking to direct all comments about the shooting to their attorneys. attorneys.they released a statement that read in part: "if anyone believes they have information about the shooting that may shed light on this horrible tragedy, we ask that you respect the family's privacy during their grieving, and instead contact office." the state is handling the death investigation live in milwaukee jp cbs 58 3 three men accused of looting a liquor store during the unrest appeared in court thursday. durell jones is charged with burglary and was bound over for trial..joseph lindsey and devon love had a scheduling conference.they're charged with entering a locked building. the owner of 'clark beer and liquor' on 74th and burleigh lost more than a 100

products....not to mention the damage done when dozens of people stormed the store. a brookfield native is being remembered as a hero.army staff sargent matthew thompson was killed in action in afghanistan tuesday. tuesday.the 28-year-old graduated from brookfield central high school in 2006. last night the school held a moment of silence before the football game.then thompson's former band director played the national anthem. in addition to being in the band, thompson was captain of the football team and an eagle scout. sot: jim thompson, grandfather of fallen soldier02;57;28 a lifetime is not judged by how long it is, but by what a person does with the tiem they have here, and he certainly did his share and then some. and that's what i would tell him. we couldn't be more proud of him. him. in addition to his grandparents, aunts and uncles that were at last night's game...thompson is survived by his wife, parents and two younger sisters. 3 looking ahead now.. guilty or not guilty.. will be the plea.. in a milwaukee county courtroom this morning ...for the woman accused of slamming

away from a traffic stop. stop.you may recall this dash cam video from i-43 at loomis back in may. police say kevina freeman dragged two officers and knocked down her own mother to get away.deputies discovered she had a suspended license and was going to have her car towed when she decided to run. today she faces a plea hearing on felony charges. there was no sign of steven avery's lawyer in the manitowoc county courthouse yesterday. supporters thought his attorney- kathleen zellner- would file a motion to begin the appeal of his murder filed.they hope an appeal could lead to his conviction being overturned.a manitowoc county deputy clerk tells us the county clerk is out of the office until monday. as of right now... they are not aware of anything coming in from zellner's office. 3 this comes almost two weeks after a federal court overturned the conviction of avery's nephew- brendan dassey. the court found investigators tricked dassey into confessing to his role in halbach's

re-trial process or dassey will be released from prison. several arrests to report .... after we broke the story about a spree of burglaries at local hayat pharmacies. pharmacies.both milwaukee and greenfield police have several suspects in custody.the owner of hayat pharamcy tells us he believes they're responsible for some if not all of the 17 break in's over the past month. surveillance video shows the damage the thieves have done. one man is hurt and nearly two dozen s a house explosion in madison. madison.a 57-year-old man was taken to the hospital, after being injured in the blast. fire officials say the explosion caused damage to 23 homes in fitchburg. the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. at this point, officials say there is no suspicion of criminal intent. 3 in campaign 2016..milwaukee voters can start casting their ballots for the presidential election october 10th. 10th.early voting lasts four we.

locations, one on the city's south side and one on the city's north side.those locations are to be determined. the following two weeks, people can vote at the zeidler municipal building in downtown milwaukee.there will be extended evening and weekend hours at all three sites. 3 wisconsin is doing its part to get unregistered voters to cast a ballot in the presidential election...more than one-million people have a driver's license or state id-- but aren't registered to vote...soon though, they'll with details on how to do so. the state elections commission will send them in about a month.a state law passed earlier this year requires wisconsin to join a voter registration database... combine dogs and beer and you have "bark 'n brew." it's a new 2-day event at wauatosa's "hart park"... going on this weekend. there will be hours of entertainment for both man and his best friend...including a dog jump and flying disc

will also be on hand. and for the ?people?- there's craft beers, wine, ciders, and food from varoius vendors. "bark 'n brew" runs from 11 to 7 on saturday and noon to 5 on sunday.it's free to get in. dogs must be on a leash and have their vaccines up to date. partial proceeds will benefit jr's pups-n-stuff...a local non-profit providing foster homes for rescued pets. the milwaukee bucks have been to showcase all this week. today they'll be looking for some musicians for the court. nats drumline drumlinea crowd favorite.. bucks beats is the official drumline of the nba team... providing percussion performances in the arena and in the community. they say if you want to try out you have to be at least 16 and quote "have a passion for entertaining a crowd" registration begins at 5-30 p-m at the bmo harris bradley

happening orn police say at least 20 people were killed and nearly 20 were hurt in a bus accident in nepal.they say the bus rolled about 3-hundred feet off the highway ... and plunged into a river. police and villagers were helping the injured and pulling the dead from wreckage ...which was mostly submerged in the river. police are investigating the cause of the accident. new york city's world trade center is honoring the victims of the earthquake in italy. italy. yesterday- governor andrew cuomo directed the building's 408-foot spire be lit in the

statement, cuomo extended his condolences to the victims and said new york stands ready to lend support. 3 3 around the nation ... two people are hurt after their small plane crashed into a home in indiana.it happened yesterday night near sky king airport.the two people were removed from the plane and airlifted to the hospital. no one was in the house at the time of the accident.the family'sog as rorted to be inside but made it out safely.we still don't know the cause of the crash. 3 no oas explosion in maryland.it happened in washington county yesterday morning. officials say a woman was inside the home at the time of the explosion ....but managed to escape unharmed. the family dog was found behind the house a short time later with only a small cut to an eye.the blast destroyed multiple cars on the operty... fueling more explosions.nearly 70 firefighters from three different states were called out to the home. the cause is under investigation. 3 a crash left quite the mess on

avenue.. on the city's northside.the young boy was found unresponsive... after his mom put him down for a nap. a family member tells cbs 58 the boy was a twin.she says he stopped breathing and his mom brought him to a house on 13th street... but by the time they got there... the child was already dead. 3 just into our newsroom, a man injured in a shooting yesterday in milwaukee has died. died.this was the scene at 29th street near wisconsin avenue around 5:30 last night. milwaukee police say two men... both in their twenties... got out of a car and an group near west michigan. police say the 20 year old passenger of the car was hit by a bullet and suffered a critical injury.the medical examiner tells us that man has died.one witness describes what he saw... 14:53:08-13they still like punching and running and the one dude was like shoot em, kill em, wooo wooo 14:53:18-26 somebody mentioned about the police coming they dispersed.. but they went up the street up there, the same ones in the car that had the pistols got shot up. 3 3 officers on patrol nearby say they heard the shots and rushed to the scene.they

they found two semi-automatic pistols..one from the victim and one from the driver.the second group of shooters ran away. 3 now to a developing story... two nuns are murdered... and one has ties to milwaukee. sisters 'paula merrill' and 'margaret held' were found stabbed inside their home in mi. mississippi.sister held was a nurse practitioner... and was part of "school sisters of saint francis" for 49 years. she taught high school in kenosha in the early 70s. sister held's ministry is based from the sisters of charity's website shows sisters held and merrill helping people in mississippi.news of their deaths was shared during the four o-clock mass last night... many just couldn't believe it. 3 "it's hard to imagine that one who served the poor, untiringly, day and night sometimes, that her life would be taken in this violent way."

in today's money watch report...ford has announced three different recalls... to fix more than 113-thousand vehi. vehicles.the first one-- according to the automaker-- affects 88-thousand vehicles. the car models are ford taurus... ford flex... lincoln
