1:30 this morning. milwaukee police say they received reports of multiple gunshots from inside a home. when police arrived, they found two victims, both a man and a woman in their 20s. police say both had been shot and were not breathing.police say two children were also inside at the time but were not injured and are now safe. police are still looking for suspects. if you have any information, call police. police are still looking for suspects. if you have any information, call police.live in milwaukee. kyle aevermann. cbs58 news. 3 and just in---the medical examiner has been called to another deadly shooting on the northwest side.this one happened just before four this morning... near 52-nd and greentree.it's the ?third? fatal shooting in the fourth district... in about six hours. we'll bring you more details as we get them.

of the three men responsible for the murder of laylah petersen should learn his punishment today. arlis gordon will be sentenced in milwaukee county court this morning. cbs 58's julie parise has been following this case.she joins us live from the court house with the story. arlis gordon will be sentenced by a judge inside this court house later this morning. his charge -- second degree reckless homicide -- which he pled guilty to back in september. 5-year-old laylah petersen was killed on november 6, 2014, while sitting inside her home was sitting in the living room on her grandfather's lap when the bullets flew threw the window. gordon was arrested last october -- along with two other suspects -- paul farr and carl barrett.last week barrett was sentenced to to 65 years in prison for his role in the crime. it was an emotional day in court and today could surely be similar. that sentencing happens after 8:15 this morning gordon could face sixty years in prison

"we were able to track down the individual we believe is responsible for that threat." threat." it'll be up to the district attorney's office... to decide whether to charge the milwaukee man. 3 the mayor says she is "very very concerned about the safety of the police officers." she said "threatare taken very seriously" and "each one is being investigated."mayor ehley wants you to call tosa police if you have information brendan dassey's attorneys filed a brief with the u-s

court to affirm a lower court's ruling that overturns his conviction in the death of teresa halbach.dassey and his uncle, steven avery, were convicted of killing the photographer in 2005.in august, a federal judge found the dassey's constitutional rights were violated with a coerced confession.prosecutors have two weeks to respond. 3 caledonia police are hoping you can help identify two men who they say stole from a walgreens.the surveillance video shows the men entering the store on douglas and four mile road on december 1-st. than 12-hundred dollars worth of merchandise.if you know who these men are... call caledonia police. milwaukee county is asking the state to fund a new.. smaller facility for juvenile offenders... so they can take everyone out of lincoln hills. hills.county officials also want to end the use of pepper spray.. age separation within the facility population.. and consideration of shorter stays for offenders based on completion of treatment goals. 10-28 "the state has to reform

the final presidental recount numbers... saying it's only a couple hundred votes. 3 34 counties have finished counting their ballots. ballots. so far.... both donald trump and hillary clinton have added votes to their total.. total.. but at last check.... clinton has gained 82 votes on trump.the elections commission says most vote changes are due to human error.the commission also says all counties are on track to finish the recount by the december 12 deadline. a federal judge who ordered michigan's recount ..has now dropped his decision... effectively ending the state's recount. decision last night... one day after the state appeals court said green party candidate jill stein isn't eligible for a recount because of her 4th place finish in michigan.the elections board has always said it would end the recount if the judge dropped the order. the grounds for the world's largest music festival are getting some upgrades.this morning.. summerfest is set to announce some major renovations happening at henry maier festival park. juveniles are under arrest for starting the tennessee wildifre that killed 14 people and damaged more than 17- hundred homes.the accused are from tenneessee--- tenneessee---but ?not? the area where the fire started --- along a hiking trail--- back on novebmer 23-rd. authorities say... it's possible that the cases will be moved to ?adult? court. 3 police in miami beach shut down an entire city block last night... due to the threat of possible explosives. authorities say... someone called police claiming that ?at least one explosive device? "ocean drive."the caller didn't say ?where? specifically the device was--- or--- what it consisted of. miami beach police say... officers are checking all vehicles in the area for the device. charleston church shooter dylann roof made his first court appearance yesterday. yesterday.final jury selection happened yesterday morning... then some family members of victims took the stand. roof's lawyer told the jury he might not call any witnesses during this part of trial. however.. roof will represent himself during his sentencing.he's accused of killing nine black people at a church last year.

did it to start a "race war." if convicted.. he could face the death penalty. 3 attorneys for mexican drug lord joaquin "el chapo" guzman are fighting to keep the head of the sina-loa cartel from being sent to the united states.the defense is asking mexico's supreme court to hear appeals on the issue. the court has less than 48-hours to respond to the appeal.a mexican federal judge has already denied the requests. mexico's national security commissioner said in mid-october he expects "el chapo" will be extradited to the u-s by guzman has escaped from maximum-security prisons in mexico twice. president-elect donald trump continues his 'thank-you' tour in iowa today...amid his latest feud with a union leader ...who criticized his recent carrier jobs deal. deal.trump didn't cite anything specific but tweeted that chuck jones had done a terrible job and suggested the steelworkers union president was the reason companies were leaving the country. in an interview with cnn -- jones accused trump of inflating the number of jobs being saved by the carrier deal.

it was around 1:30 this morning when milwaukee police started to receive phone calls reporting of gunshots in this neighborhood here near west florist and appleton. police say when they arrived they found both a man and a woman in their 20's not breathing.both had apparently been shot.the milwaukee county medical examiners office was called out confirming thier deaths.police say there were also 2 children inside the home at the time of the shooting.however, they were not injured with police.the suspect or suspects were able to get away. police are still investigating what led up to the shooting. 3 new this morning... a man with a gunshot wound was found dead... after his car collided with two others. it happened near north 36th street and west thurston avenue around 9:30 last night. police say the man is in his
