prosecutors call him the ringleader of a quote 'half- baked plan 'to illegally carry out justice. it resulted in the murder of 5-year old laylah peterson who was shot to death while sitting on her grandfather's lap. this morning, arlis gordon was sentenced for his actions 2 years ago. cbs 58's david ade live in downtown milwaukee with the details...david? 3 arlis gordon will spend the next 30 years in prison... with 19 years of extended supervision after th. gordon was in front of a milwaukee county judge this morning.he's the last person to be sennced in the november 2014 death of five-year oldlaylah petersen. his lawyer said rdon was trying to carry out a form of vigilante justice... after a jury found someone not guilty of killing gordon's step

as david mentioned, two other men have also been convicted and sentenced in the petersen case.on december first, carl barrett was ordered to serve 65 years in prison and another 35 years of extended supervision for his role in the killing.25-year old paul farr, who police said drove barrett and gordon to the home where petersen was shot, was previously sentenced to 5 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of aiding a felon. we have new information about '4 fatal shootings overnight' double homicide. homicide.milwaukee police say a 38-year-old woman and a 36- year-old man were shot to death inside a home near appleton and florist. neighbors called 9-1-1 around 1:30 this morning reporting the sound of gunfire.when officers arrived, they found a man and woman ?shot? and ?not? breathing.two childen were also in the home. they were ?not? hurt and are now safe with police. police alstell us they believe another double shooting wasn attempted

in his 16 years with the st. fracnis police department, officer shane czerniakowski (zern-a-cow-ski) has his fair share of car break in's. especially during this time of year."it's a busy time of year. people are doing their holiday shopping and so forth, and sometimes forget to secure things or bring them into the house."in an effort to reduce the number of car break ins, the department has introduced a theft report card program officers stop to look inside of cars to see if they can find valuable items."im not opening the doors ochecking on the doors, but i am visiually seeing if the locks are unlocked or not. but valuable in view. employees in the milwaukee market. with work already underway on a project to ehance the visitor experience ahead of next summer's 50th anniversary of summerfest...organizers are also unveiling plans for a major renovation that will set the stage for the big gig's next 50 years. cbs 58's julie parise joins us live from summerfest with more. it's nice to be talking about summer fest on a chilly day like today -- and now there's more to get excited about when it comes to music festival .the us cellular conion ste is getting rebuilt to be made bigger and better for summerfest 2018. here's a look at the new stage. the redesigned stage will hold more people than the current stage, which hasn't been upgraded since 1996. it will feature mostly pop and country music acts. the stage will have a 25 foot led screen, the largest video screen on the grounds.upgrades to the sound system and accommodations for performing artists will also happen. organizers hope this will draw

in today's money watch report... 3 fewer people signed up for unemployment benefits last weeka sign the u-s job market remains healthy.the labor department says more than 2-million americans are collecting unemployment down 10 percent from a year ago. the consumer product safety commission is recalling a playground slide because of potential finger injuries. playworld systems says a
