3 he's been deemed a sexually violent offender. so it's no surprise that people are fighting the release of terry olson into their community. community.it's got folks in both washington and fond du lac counties worried.cbs 58's april dvornay reports on how it all came to a head in court today. angry resident from eldorado fond du lac county came to a washington county courtroom today to send a messsage that terry olson should be released

the judge took notice.the judge called it intimadation. dozens of fond du lac county residents who drove to to washington county to fight the release of terry olson in el dorado.he's due for release after serving time for his convictions on 1st and second degree child sex assault. assault.:50 um im really glad we came. i know the judge put us as a community in our place but he also heard our real reason is that the procedure wasnt followed and he did acknowledge thatwashington county argued that restrictions on placement near children prevented them from taking olson. dhs said eldorado was an option based on the timing of his release.the judge questioned whether a law restricting placement applies to olson since he's being release in the same year it being release in to olson since he's placement applies to olson since he's being release in the same year it was passed. passed.cg in eric toney/fdl da526 so some of those placements they previously deemed as unsuitable may become suitable pkalcements in washington county.after nearly an hour of arguments, the judge said he needed to review the law further.he said

placements its previously suggested.he also let fond du lac know, olson could still be placed there.but he agreed the community should be given 60 days prior notice, which it had not received before. before.719 i wouldnt clal it a win. if we end up with another 980 palcement i dont think anyoen would call that a win. win.for now, olson remains in state custody. all parties have two weeks to gather their information.before antoher hearing on dec 22. 3 this isn't the first time the the town of to deal with the placement of a sex offender. about one year ago d-h-s wanted to place sex offender clint rhymes in the small town.but the town fought back and eventually the request to place rhymes in fond du lac county was withdrawn. 3 75-year-old dennis kirt is charged with sex assaulting two boys over the course of several years.one boy says he went to the defendant's house to move furniture when kirtbegan touching him.a second boy says he was also assaulted.according to the criminal complaint kirt would often have young boys over,

five people shot, four fatally in a matter of hours overnight in milwaukee.including a couple.. killed as they slept. slept.neighbors near the home at appelton and florist say this is a rare burst of violence for the area.all the more chilling, the couple's children were in the home at the time.the couple had been there about a year and seemed friendly to many who take pride in their block. 37-46 "our neighborhood is sa neighbors know each other. we look out for each other. something like this has never happened in over 15 years over here." 3 neighbors say their next step is to try and help police catch the person or people responsible. 3 police are investigating two other deadly shootings.a 67-year old man who was found with a fatal gunshot wound after he crashed his car near 36th and thurston.there was also an attempted murder suicide overnight..near 52nd and green tree.a 32-year-old

police say the 34 year old man then turned the gun on himself. the city has recorded 130 homicides this year. compared with 140 last year. 30 years in prison for the final man convicted in the shooting death of 5-year-old layah peterson lawyers agree that say arlis gordon was the man who hatched a 2014 revenge plan... which ended up with 12 to 14 bullets in the wrong house.one of those bullets killed the girl as she sat on her gradfather's lap.gordon ap petersen's father didn't believe him. 45-59"i would like to give my condolences to the family and friends of laylah petersen." 1:10-1:16"and they say he has remorse... he doesn't have remorse... he has remorse for being caught... not for what he did." did." carl barrett, the second gunman, is serving 65 years in prison... and paul far, who drove them, is serving 5 months in prison. new tonight --a violent purse snatcher caught on camera. police say they need your help to get him off the streets.

milwaukee's south side back on november eighth.the video does give some clues to his identity.you see the man walking along oklahoma near the interstate.the attack happens just out of camera range on the top corner of your screen.he punched the woman and took off with her purse.he had a getaway car..a grey four door car. if you know who the man is... call milwaukee police. a burlington mother alerts a school district after seeing messages from her daughter about a "hit list".the 15-year-old and her 14-year old for conspiring to commit murder. murder.in the criminal complaint, the girl told police she thinks about people being slaughtered, eaten, and stabbed'.five classmates and the girl's father were on that list.and after hearing about the "hit list"... some students are getting counseling. "obviously it has impacted several students that are concerned and we have our guidance services available to them if they need to work through this matter" matter"

would actually kill her classmates.the girl and her boyfriend are under house arreset.they'll be in court next week. 3 a 39-year-old west bend man is accused of putting a video camera in a heating vent and taping his girlfriend's daughter.west bend police say the 20-year-old woman found the camera in her bedroom. police say the man had saved images of the woman undressing. president-elect donald trump is making his first stop in wisconsin since winning the ele. election.trump will be in west allis at state far park tuesday night at n. vice-president elect mike pence will join him.this is the day ?after? the deadline for completing wisconsin's recount of presidential votes. 47 of the state's 72 counties have completed the recount. today the state elections commission ?all? counties are on track to make the december 12th deadline. congresswoman gwen moore is requesting the department of justice investigate deaths at the milwaukee county jail this . year. in her letter to the d-o-j, moore lists four deaths...including that of an infant.she accuses milwaukee

donald driver dropped by the goodwill in west allis today to take donations, sign some autographs... and of course, to talk about the green bay packers. just like the rest of us, driver has watched the pack struggle at times this season, but check this out... driver compares the 20-16 packers to the super bowl winners from six years ago. 3 3 driver: i think they control their own destiny. i remember back in 2010, we controlled our own destiny. we had to win two games out to make the postseason. we had to beat the giants and we had to beat the bears, so we did that. they now that they have to win, and if they win that then they're division champs. and when you're division champs, you're in the postseason. junior offensive tackle ryan ramczyk named to the walter camp all-american team. this comes after the stevens point transfer was named a conensus all-big ten offensive lineman. he started all 13 games for wisconsin this year and was also named a sports illustrated and usa today all- american.

year's loss to marquette. wisconsin won two straight against the golden eagles before losing at the kohl center. it'll get no easier with the game in downtown milwaukee saturday but senior bronson koenig says the badgers are a better team than they were at this point a year ago. we didn't really have an idenity at that time. we held the ball a lot we did a lot of one-on-one, we didn't move the bal so i think we'll be much better this time around.

even animals are getting into the holiday spirit!these cute penguins waddled through a park in japan dressed as santa claus.park employees take them on daily walks... so the public can enjoy the cuteness and take pictures of santa's helpers. 3 a couple of animals were having quite the snow day! these river otters live at the oregon zoo in portland... freezing temperatures and snow. and the zoo's polar bear was loving the weather... she even had an inflatable tube to make it even more fun! 3 and these ice castle builders don't mind the snow and cold weather either.crews are finally able to start making ice for an ice castle along the st croix river in stillwater, minnesota.to build the castles, they grow giant icicles... using the ice and some water like bricks and mortar.crews hope to have the
