plows hit the streets overnight to make this mornings commute a little easier. the department of public works says they sent two shifts of drivers out last night - one at 9pm and another at 11 pm to finish clearing main streets and side streets. crews are still out and about in milwaukee county.we checked in this morning with other counties in our viewing area. we're told roads in waukesha and racine counties are looking good.main roads in kenosha are also in good shape - but side streets are still snow covered and plows are still out. working in washington and walworth counties.i-43 in ozaukee is clear, though plows are still out clearing streets in ozaukee county. over the weekend the snow meant a lot of people chose to avoid the roads all together. snows fine...id rather have snow than coldits coming down its light its fluffy, not too too cold, itmakes an evening walk really enjoyablehanging

thank you for the udpate kyle.. we will continue to bring you the latest as soon as we know more. lookinea the two waukesha girls accused of trying to stab their classmate to death... is expected to be in court today. morgan geyser has an evidentiary hearing later this morning. that will decide if there's enough evidence to require a trial. both geyser and anissa weier are accused of the 2014 stabbing ...to please a fictional online character known as "slender man."geyser and weier were 12-years old at the time of the stabbing. they'll both be tried as adults. both are pleading not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. their lawyers are now asking

two girls. the jury trial is expected to start today for the man charged with killing his three month old son. son. 25-year-old sean flowers is charged with first-degree intentional homicide for drowning his son in a pond this summer.according to the criminal complaint... flowers was upset with how the baby's mother was dancing at a family party. witnesses say flowers fought off attempts from others to free the baby.court records show.. in the past.. flowers was accused of domestic violence against the baby's mother. now to a developing story--- an inmate from the dane county jail has been ar dane county sheriff's deputies are looking for 21--year-old "mark log-terman." he doesn't have a current address--- but has ties to madison and evansville. he left the ferris center out the back door ?without authorization? yesterday.he's currently serving a probation sentence with ?work release privileges?... for felony convictions including endangering safety and reckless use of a firearm and f. forgery.log-terman is about five foot eight... and 160 pounds.he has brown hair and

distinct tattoo on his lower left arm.it says "cynthia" in cursive black ink... and "rip 11-23-13" in red ink.anyone with information is asked to call 911. today is the recount deadline in wisconsin. after nearly a week-and-a-half of work... wisconsin's presidential election recount has to be finished by 8 o'clock tonight. 3 the county clerk's office told us last week all wards are complete and only minor changes were found. however.. the elections commission says the city has yet to report. the commission says they are still waiting for absentee ballot reports. there are still a few other wards across the state that also need to be accounted for... but more than 95- percent of all ballots ?have been? counted.according to the wisconsin state jounral... trump has gained 628 votes... and clinton has gained 653. 3 president-elect "donald trump"... holds more meetings at trump tower today... as he continues to fill key posts in his administration. trump is said to be moving closer to nominating ?exxon mobile ceo?--- rex tillerson--

development comes amid calls from a b-ipartisan group of senators... for congress to investigate the ?cia's assessment that russia helped trump get elected.?tillerson is known for his close connections to russian president "vladimir putin." 3 chris christie was reportedly offered ?several? positions in trump's administration--- but the new jersey governor ?turned them all down.?that's according to a report by "nj- advance media."the rejected offers included: homeland security secretary... veterans affairs secretary... and u-s ambassador to italy.the report says... christie didn't good fit. there are two meetings today to address the issue of lead in the water in milwaukee. milwaukee.district 3 commissioner monique kelly of the social development commission will host an education and listening session for the public tonight. it starts at 5-30 tonight at the s-d-c on north avenue. there will also be a meeting in the humboldt park pavilion at six tonight. there will be representatives from various city departments to give a presentation and to answer any questions. the packers keep doing what they need to do... to stay

again at 7-6. that's three in a row now for the packers. blood donations tend to slow down in december and january.....as people shift their focus to the holidays. so... as a special show of thanks for those who do continue... young patients will show their appreciation for blood donors today. today.this is 12-year-old steven seraphine from oconomowoc. he's battling leukemia.. and receives blood transfusions and platelets to help his body recover and fight caner. he says he wanted to show how thankful he was to blood and platelet donors who have given hi life.he and several other young blood recipients have created holiday cards to show their appreciation this holiday season.those cards will be delivered to donors at all blood center of wisconsin donor centers and community blood drives..starting today. coming up--- see who ended up being the big winner... during the critics' choice awards. you're watching the cbs 58

in national news...today marks six months since the massacre at pulse nightclub in orlando. a large crowd gathered for a moment of silence early this morning.. at the club.... club.......at the exact time gunman omar mateen started shooting inside on june 12.49 people died and and 53 others were injured. and killed by police.only those with a direct connection to the shooting attended this morning's ceremony.a more public event is scheduled for later today. a guilty verdict in the shooting death of former n-f-l star will smith. smith.last night.. a new orleans jury voted to convict cardell hayes of multiple charges-- including manslaughter.last april.. hayes shot the former saints player after a traffic dispute. smith's wife was also shot during the incident.. but recovered.hayes had argued he fired in self defense. he faces up to forty years in

roads are wet and slick in spots. freeway has been treated. secondary roadways may still be snow covered. watch it on bridges and overpasses.there will be a full freeway closure of i-94 eb at moorland rd. th i-894/41 nb will close overnight at greenfield ave. for a traffic switch.by tuesday morning i-94 eb will no longer have access to the 84th st exit as it will be shifted left to a new roadway. i-894 nb will still be able to access the 84th st. exit rampwatch for slowing.drivers take note that the water st. bridge leading into the historic third ward is now closed until december 16th 2016. the bridge will undergo some upgrades to its locking system. drivers should use alternates to get around this closure.another reminder that the i-41/894 sb exit ramp to greenfield ave. is now closed

for a group of milwaukee children battling life-threatening illnesses...their christmas happened over the weekend. the kids and their families... were given a ?first-class ticket? to the north-pole.cbs 58's evan kruegel was there to meet them - and has the story. "it takes the whole village of the north pole to really pull something like this off" at mitchell international airport (nat) holiday travel is in morning - they added an extra route - one that wasn't listed on this departure board a direct flight - to the north pole.... ) "it's an emotional thing, to be able to see santa, and when you see the kids climb off the plane and make a mad dash for santa, it makes all the hard work worth it." 18 families were given the red carpet treatment - boarding a plane to a nearby hanger - where
