down in the southern parts of the state. miami dade and down into the keys, at this hour, a line of powerful showers and storms across central florida. we have severe thunderstorm warning in effect for this north and eastern corner of osceola county. titusville down into cocoa and rockledge on over to cape canaveral, you are still under that severe thunderstorm warning. we begin to see indication just through the west of palm bay and moving through palm bay of some week rotation but -- within the structure. very close eye on. moving through #cocoa beach between now and about 6:30, that little cell coming into palm bay. it is coming in -- the rain is coming down heavy in brevard county. we will keep you up-to-date.

this down to see areas spinning. real shear in the atmosphere. doppler radar with the cells moving across it, i just want to point out the cape canaveral area, the air force station area, that is where we are seeing the intense weather. severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 6:30. right in there, that is where we did see spinning icons indicating some huge in the atmosphere -- hew in the atmosphere. cocoa, rockledge, right up into the air force station, and stretching back down, we will see those windxd s. that is going to be our concern.

>> breaking news. at least one person has been killed in a tornado in manatee county. we are getting this video from our nbc affiliate in tampa. there are reports of a lot of injuries as well. staying on top of this story as it continues to develop. updates right here on wesh 2. agencies are working together to raise awareness about black bears. the apopka police department and the central florida zoo had a meeting at the apopka amphitheater yesterday. advice on what you should do if you come face-to-face with a bear and ways to keep bears away from your neighborhood. >> remain calm. talk calmly towards the bear in an assertive voice and start to back away.

straight-line winds, a major concern. this is the serious thunderstorm warning. cape canaveral back into the 520, cocoa beach here and into cocoa and rockledge and this trailing area here is going to sweep through rockledge and down into vieira and the wickham road suntory area. 40-50 mile-per-hour wind gusts. certainly can expect that in the next couple of minutes as well so this is one main area of concern. we see this spinning right here. that indicates shear in the atmosphere. these storms rush over brevard county. sometimes we get that additional shear imparted but knows a prize if we do not get a very brief gusts that blows up with these particular cells. in terms of tornadoes, the possibility still exists. that up in the northern part of the county with the canaveral

we are going to see those cells moving through between now and 6:25. vieira and the pioneer causeway. we will take it to the south as well. another line, a discrete line from palm bay up into indian harbour beach. right across the melbourne causeway' s. just south of matters bridge and the dragon point. that line again, same kind of a threat. gusts associated with those winds and heavy downpours. 6:30, this is not take long for this to be offshore and done with but palm beach up in west malvern, and -- melbourne, and indian, indian harbour , moving off to the east in malabar, and done with certainly by 7:00.

raining down on central florida. severe weather and deadly tornadoes. thank you for joining us. we have learned the storm system brought deadly tornadoes to manatee and sarasota counties. the storms of moving out but the damage is already done. let' s get straight to dave. that system has moved towards us. >> i want to let you know that was all in the southern part of the state that transits and that same type of weather in palm beach county and broward county. gusts. 40 mile an hour wind gusts. down closer to patrick air force you are out from under the gusty wind. dubbed one, that is the good news.

this morning you may have been woken up by strong storms as they move through our area. >> they are offshore. the weather has moved out of brevard county into literally right on time, maybe even 20 minutes earlier which is just fine with us. when you' re in rain, what we are going to see is when swinging around to the north and west. chilly air as well. closer into brevard county, lingering debris rain. for the most part, this has moved out. sebastian down to ellesmere just outside of brevard is where we still see some hectic weather. moving to indian whip -- river shores. these temperatures continue to come up in brevard county with this wind out of the southwest. the winds are switching to the north and west.

>> certainly we can breathe a sigh of relief for now in central florida. deadly tornadoes across parts of central florida. right now, we are looking at breezy conditions, wind in that 60 mile-per-hour range. air into the forecast. melbourne is at 72, 62 in ocala but that cold air is just north. for the most part, storms have no push offshore. back to the west. the main line of storms is that we talked about -- a lot about keeping you all night long up to date. that is genuinely moved up to shore -- off to shore. behind the low and the front itself, a strong northwest flow will not only scour out the moisture but drive that colder air into central florida. for later today and into the

the wind, because the flow is moving away, about noon time, midday. in the afternoon hours, conditions will run down. while we are now underneath the threat of severe weather, basically stretching from vero beach right back down to collier county and sweeping over to palm beach, we are still watching for the threat for severe thunderstorms and tornadic activity. parts of the state still watching that. futurecast, we see this all pushing offshore and i mentioned debris rain about 10:00 this morning. northwest flow sets up and becomes quite windy to midday. into the late evening afternoon hours, we will begin to die down down -- down. temperatures probably maxing out already in our northern county. 624 in dunnellon, still a bit of

we can see the wet roadways are -- along the melbourne international airport now. indian river off in the distance -- it has been an ugly date across central florida. we are going to keep some clouds, maybe a shower in place. eventually, northwest winds are going to scour off this moisture and bring a chillier air matt into central florida. we see the contours. colder to the north, warmer to the south. it will continue to do that the rest of the day. chile as we work into the overnight hours and the next couple of days as well. we still have to me to watch box in place for southern parts of brevard county. wind. but in the next couple of minutes, definitely cooler conditions. mostly sunny skies expected to be a chile and breezy afternoon.

>> we have just learned that two adults are dead and four kids have been hurt in a tornado. emergency services report a tornado hit a mobile home in the city of do it. -- dewitt. some homes are in splinters. those storms just moved offshore and chris, how is that drive from osceola county? you drove right through it. it is a lot calm her, we can tell you that much. from an hour ago, we were in osceola county. in brevard county, we are in cocoa. that is interstate 95 right there and we are also at the 520. the rain has completely stopped, the winds have completely died down. from an hour and a half ago,

between kissimmee and st. cloud, that is where we were just pounded with rain. we also had a lot of wind, some debris coming through the parking lot. that of course now, that system has pushed out of osceola county and even where we are in brevard, that has pushed out of this area. we can see a little bit of blue sky as that son rises -- sun rises this morning. power outages here in brevard county. 115 customers out between cocoa and melbourne. 115 people without power. because of the storms that rolled through here. we are trying to get an estimate of when that power will be back on, but we will continue to update you on that. sad images coming out from sarasota.

howling winds, cracks of thunder, and bolts of lightning raining down on central florida. the severe weather is now over, but we are still tracking damage in some places. good morning. thanks for joining us. i' m stewart moore. we have team coverage with chris hush out live in brevard county, and meteorologist dave cocchiarella here in studio. dave, let' s start with you. dave: showers are moving offshore. parts of the state. weather and the outlook as well. -- wendy for us as well. temperatures are hovering at around 71 degrees. there are some things in the road out there. in terms of temperatures, the cooler air is settling in the peninsula. we are all topping out maybe one or two degrees higher than we are right now. colder air will then arrive later today. it was a powerful line of thunderstorms. it has now moved offshore.

have not had damages like the images you saw and the sarasota area. here in brevard county, we still have those winds coming on very strong. the rain has moved out. basically, what you are dealing with on the roads, you have debris like this. tree branches and whatnot down in the roadways. you will want to watch out for that. if you are driving, be careful. this is kind of popping up along the way. we want to show you some video from osceola county. we were there earlier when the storms were just coming through. we were pounded with rain. we also had a lot of wind. there was a debris coming right through that parking lot. we were actually dodging it at one point during the height of the storm. that has now died down and pushed out of the area. if you are in the cocoa area, there are some power outages. this time.

stewart: no one was hurt. the state fire marshal' s office is investigating. covering orange county orlando police are looking for clues in a double shooting. police say they were hit on lanette street around eight last night. one person took a bullet to the shoulder. the other was grazed in the head. both victims were conscious and alert when they were taken to a hospital. they' re expected to survive. orlando police tell us they have no information on a possible suspect. two suspects who got away after an orlando police-involved shooting remain on the run. we first told you 24-hours ago about the dangerous traffic stop on north lane in pine hills. officers say the 17-year-old driver tried to run them over, so a cop fired and hit the teen in the shoulder. he was arrested after crashing into a vacant home on stoneybrook lane. two others in the car took off. the 17-year-old is now out of the hospital and in custody. the family of a palm beach county man shot and killed by deputies wants answers this morning. investigators say henry bennett made a run for it in belle glade yesterday when they tried to stop him. deputies say he pointed a gun and that'
