5:04 am
two cars started shooting at each other. and now police are also telling me that both of those victims were in the same car when the shots rang out. and now i want you to take a look at this. you can see a man that's so upset, he tries to cross the police line. and police have to take him down to keep that from happening. dozens of people gathered and emotions ran so high. police are working to find out what led up to the incident and who is responsible for the shooting. and i have made multiple calls to the tampa police department. so far, they tell me there are no arrests but they do not believe it was random. they believe it started with an ongoing dispute. as soon as we get more information about who the victims are and who the police are looking for, we will let you know on-air and online. >> all right, lindsey, thank you very much. happening today, back to the witness stand for hulk website gawker. hogan is suing the site over

5:06 am
>> it was so surreal that i was there and he was handing me a condom. one thing led to another. and i let my guard down. >> reporter: now a part of gawker's arguments is that they had a right to publish the tape because hogan is a well-known public figure. of course, again, hogan will be taking the stand later on this morning and will be cross- examined by gawker's attorneys. the trial will resume at 9:00 this morning and is expected to last at least three weeks. of course, you can count on news channel 8 to have the latest developments on this ongoing trial. >> yeah, with hulk hogan being from pinellas county, people around the world have their eye on tampa bay. thanks, josh. well it's being called a stern warning for the hotel industry. a nashville jury awarding erin andrews with a $55 million settlement in the lawsuit against her stalker and the owners of a hotel. >> was the defendant michael

andrews who is our lead investigative reporter. he says, on behalf of my family and myself, thank you to the people of nashville for looking out and standing up for my little girl. and another thing candace, as you go through, you can see it, the hashtags are too inappropriate to show on the morning show, but people are trolling thinking that the reward was way, way too large. but brian write, twitter lawyers think the erin andrews jury verdict is excessive? most real lawyers have no real opinion because they were not in the courtroom. so there's a tremendous amount of support from people. a lot of people talking about hotel security. so that's something to think about for all of us. >> absolutely. the time right now is 5:08. i'm going to turn things over to leigh spann now for a look at weather and traffic on the 8s. >> it's a very comfortable morning. clear skies at this moment so when the sun does come up just before 7:00, the temperatures
