storm team 8 meteorologist ed bloodsworth joins us live. this storm completely different than 40 hours ago. >> even just 24 hours ago. it is now a category 4 storm going through what we call a rapid intensification cycle. this is the 5:00 p.m. advisory. maximum sustained winds at 140 miles per hour. make thanksgiving a strong category 4 storm. the movement west southwest now at 9 miles per hour. and pressure at 9:49. the pressure continues to fall. when that number goes down, your winds typically go up. there is the latest flight going out. they just dropped their instrumentation reporting a 78 mile-per-hour wind but they are not at the eye at this time here. we're likely to see higher readings in the next few hours.

hurricane center keeping it a category 4 storm through saturday. then it's expected to weaken but still maintain status as a strong category 3 storm as it approaches jamaica. from there, it rolls off to the north as a category 2 storm entering the bahamas and the kind of uncertainty does include extreme southwest florida. the farther east it stays the better for the st florida. but uncertainty to where the system goes. we'll take a look at the full track in a few minutes. creepy clown sightings across the bay area are now laughing matter for police. news channel 8's jeff patterson reports it was a frightening experience. >> i seen a clown out by at track. all the kids were crying and

and then called her mother. mrs. foster is angry because she believes school officials should have placed largo on lock down. >> i called the school and was told it's a rumor, it's okay. no, it's not okay. >> reporter: officers responded but didn't find any clowns. now in pasco county, they have multiple clown sightings. one parent reporting her child received a private facebook message from a clown by mr. wrinkles. his facebook page is complete with the creepiest of clown photos. the sheriff is asking people to report suspicious activity immediately. >> if you think criminal activity is going to, please notify us immediately. >> reporter: anyone making a false report about a clown can be arrested. news channel 8. it swallowed hundreds of millions of gallons of contaminated water dumping all

an end. 74 degrees for the overnight low of the the weekend forecast, slightly drier offer on saturday. high of 88. it's going to be a warm start to october. 89 on sunday. we have a frontal boundary off to the north. still going to keep the chance of lingering showers through tomorrow. drier air starting to sneak in for our northern most counties. sunday, the moisture coming back a bit and that will lead to chance. there's category 4 hurricane matthew. taking it toward jamaica in the short term. then crossing cuba heading back toward the bahamas this. does bear watching as we head into next week. there's the 30% rain chance tomorrow, 40% sunday. high moister monday. matthew may help bring us drier air.
