weekend. >> boy, did it feel like fall this weekend. and max defender 8 has been using all million of its watts to try to find some rain and it has been bone dry. you get the all clear this morning as you head out the door. in fact, it is still cool. now interestingly it's warmer than yesterday but still cool. 51 in zephyrhills. 45 in inverness. bartow, you're 61. 62 in sarasota. i mean look at lakeland and brooksville, you are nine degrees warmer than you around 5:30. but another pleasant afternoon. a high of 81. and in weather and traffic on the 8s at 5:38, i have an eight- day temperature trend to show you how long it takes this nice. and leslee lacey has the roadways. traffic right now is pretty nice. we have some construction creeping back on the sunshine skyway bridge. that in a second. right now, a great drive on 275 through st. pete and also through tampa. bearss to i-4, nine minutes on your drive time. if you are traveling across the sunshine skyway bridge, folks,

let me move over. shaky camera. that's where the lane is taken away on the right but you can still get by. that's a look at weather and traffic. back to gayle and melanie. it is what everyone is talking about this morning, in your vote, republican presidential nominee donald trump continues his tour of florida with a stop in the bay area today. >> he is expected to hold a rally with thousands of supporters tonight. and it comes just 15 days before election day. ryan hughes is live with us. trump is making a big push in the swing state. >> reporter: good morning to you. florida as always is a crucial state when it comes to the outcome of the election and that's why hillary clinton and donald trump are devoting time and resources to the state. donald trump will be here later today. he spoke in naples last night. listen here. >> if we win on november 8th, we are going to fix our rigged system. it's a rigged, broken, corrupt

it's broken. it's corrupt. they want me to take that back. let me tell you, folks, it's a rigged system. >> reporter: that has been donald trump's message about the election and our voting system. more than 3,000 people attended his rally at the fairgrounds where they heard that. if elected, trump claims he will seek congressional term limits, put in place a federal employee hiring freeze and ramp up illegal immigration enforcement. who came forward and accused him of sexual misconduct. hillary clinton is up by more than 10 points nationally. trump's campaign manager acknowledged it's an uphill battle. >> we are behind. she has some advantages, like $66 million in ad buys just in the month of september, doubling the ad buys from august. most of those are negative, classic politicians of personal

amphitheater later today, mr. trump will be in st. augustine and then sanford and tallahassee tomorrow. doors open here at 4:00 this afternoon. >> something tells me it's going to be a busy two weeks. thank you. as trump pushes forward, he is facing new allegations of sexual misconduct. the incident allegedly happened in 2006 at a charity golf tournament in nevada. listen to what she says happened. >> when we entered the room, he grabbed each of us tightly in a hug and kissed each one of us without asking permission. >> that is jessica drake talking about donald trump's behavior when she and two other women went to his penthouse suite. she says after they left, a trump representative called and asked her to his room alone. when she declined his invites, drake claims he offered her $10,000 and the use of his

she is the 11th woman publicly accusing donald trump of inappropriate sexual contact. hillary rodham clinton is focusing on florida in the final stretch of the campaign. she is set to attend a get out and vote rally on wednesday. over the weekend, clinton campaigned in north carolina. in one speech, she criticized trump's reaction to how he would take the results of the election. >> because to say you won't respect the resus threat to our democracy. >> clinton's running mate tim kaine is also campaigning in florida. he was in gainesville yesterday and will be in miami and palm beach today. and we are just over two weeks away from the election. >> it just feels crazy creeping up on us. early voting begins today in most of the tampa bay area. meredyth censullo is in the newsroom with everything you need to know before you go to the polls.

if what happened the last election holds true. seven tampa bay area counties begin early voting today at 7:00 a.m. the polls will open in hillsborough, polk county and pinellas county. hernando and citrus counties as well. and at 8:00 and a.m., polls open in manatee county and then at 8:30, the polls open in sarasota county. three counties begin early voting now here's what you need to bring with you. a valid photo id such as a driver's license, passport, military or student id. now if your picture id doesn't have your signature on it, you will need additional identification with the signature and that can be a debit or credit card. and make sure all of your voter registration information is updated, including your address. if you have moved to a new home or a new county within florida,

and you can do all of that updating online. there is a list of all voting locations and times on our website, wfla.com. and in the last presidential election, 28% of florida's ballots were cast at early voting sites. another 28% voted by mail as absentee voters. that means more than half of the florida votes were cast already in advance of election just what you eluded to there. melanie -- >> it cuts down on the lines. >> reporter: absolutely. >> always a good idea. thank you. in early voting, more republicans than democrats have cast mail-in or absentee ballots so far in north carolina. in north carolina, republicans have cast 2% more ballots than democrats. and while the numbers look good for republican there, are still 15 days until election day and

new this morning, two overnight crashes including one that is causing some lane closures on the lee roy selmon expressway. investigators say the crash happened on the upper deck just before midnight. one person died. investigators shut down the eastbound lanes. at this hour, they are still closed. the other deadly crash happened on the tampa side of the gandy bridge. police tell us a motorcye the motorcyclist died. we are waiting on police to release more information. well, the time right now is 5:38. >> really comfortable out. there i know it was on the chilly side sunday morning and for most of us, it will still feel cool this morning. but it's going to be warmer than yesterday morning and then warm up faster. the hour-by-hour forecast, around 60 at 7:00 a.m. but some of us still in the 50s

61 degrees at 8:00. after that, 71 at 11:00. 77 at 1:00. and an afternoon high of 81. this is really close to average for late october. this is one of the best weather day, pleasant. as the week goes on, a gradual warm-up and increase in humidity but only a slim rain chance starting on thursday. and the eight-day temperature trend, yeah, the a-okay from emoji man. average is 83. today we are 81. we make it to 83 tomorrow. and up to 85 wednesday and thursday. we will check in now with traffic it's a very unusual -- yes, going the to see it behind me. every time i turn around, something clears and i'm happy and then something happens. this is what we have now. look at this. this just happened. we have a crash westbound i-4. you can see it there with the crash. ahead, left lane open. we are backed up here. it says hillsborough avenue, that's known as 92 or by 301 by the fairgrounds. westbound jammed up due to the

again, it is beyond hillsborough aver. so it's backing you up. almost to i-75. keeping an eye on that one. and we only have one lane open up there. and meanwhile, we have a good drive there on i-75 here through manatee county and sarasota. not seeing delays. still construction on the sunshine skyway bridge. but you can get by just fine. just one lane taken away southbound near the hump. that's a look at weather and traffic on the 8s. back to melanie and gayle. trial of a local rapper caught on camera kicking a fan begins today with jury selection. kevin gates is facing a battery charge for this video. it shows him in lakeland at a concert last summer kicking a woman. gates claims it is self defense because the woman was tugging on his pants. a man accused of killing a local teacher and seriously injuring another is headed to court today. bryce mccloud is scheduled for a pretrial hearing. he is facing dui manslaughter charges. investigators claim he was driving drunk when he ran a red light and hit a car in pinellas

a music teacher died in the crash. her friend who teaches music in hillsborough county was seriously injured. he is recovering and is expected to return to work soon. well, some relief at the gas pump for drivers. >> still ahead, just how much gas prices are dropping and you will expect to pay at the pump. and a man punching a 7-year- old in a school. what the little boy is saying and a stinky malter goes before the --stinky matter goes before the st. petersburg city council. it is monday morning. and you are watching news

happening today, a special meeting in st. petersburg to get to the bottom of the sewage spill scandal. news channel 8's mary mcguire is live in st. pete. mary, the mayor was furious when he found out the report on waste water was never shared with his office or city council. >> reporter: he certainly was. this information should have been shared with city leaders back in july before hurricane matthew hit. it warned of sewage issues during heavy rainfall. millions of gallons of waste water was released into tampa bay after the hurricane. a report warned of sewage spills if the city closed the treatment plant. the plant did close but st. pete's mayor and city council claim they never saw the report. back in september, the former st. pete mayor claimed the

>> somebody wasn't paying attention. i'm not going to blame the administration or city council, somebody wasn't paying attention. >> reporter: now the head of the city's northwest water treatment plant who revealed this has filed for protection under the federal whistle blower act in light of this mess. in all, more than 148 million- gallons of waste water was dumped into the bay. things get underway at 8:30 and hopefully we can get some answers for both residents and city leaders that could clean up this mess. they couldn't use their dishwashers or water. they'll be watching what happens in this meeting and we will as well. >> i'm sure folks have a lot of questions. thank you, mary mcguire. there are questions also this morning about the megamerger between at&t and time warner. it's an $85 billion deal and it

wireless, broadband and satellite services with time warner properties with hbo and cnn. two members of the anti-trust subcommittee are concerned that the deal raises anti-trust issues. drivers are saving money at the pump. that's good news this morning. the average price of gasoline has dropped. four cents a gallon in the past two weeks. it's the first time in two months that prices have dropped. unleaded is $2.25 a gallon. in florida, drivers pay a littleless, $2.23 a gallon. headlines across america this morning, today we expect to learn more about a deadly tour bus crash in southern california. it killed 13 people and injured 31 others. it happened when a passenger bus collided with a tractor- trailer along i-10 in palm springs. investigators are trying to figure out what caused the crash but early reports indicate speed was indeed a factor. the bus was on the way to los

an adult caught on camera punching an elementary student at school. it's a case the washington, d.c. police are investigating. look at this video. it shows a man walking down the hall. and out of nowhere, he punches a little boy in the stomach. you can see the poor little 7- year-old all slumped over there. the little boy is okay but he doesn't understand why the man would hit him. so far the man has not explained his actions. that is cruel. seems like a big bully to me. all right, coming up on 5:48. waking up on this monday morning. step outside, it's perfect. >> it's just refreshing enough to help get you moving a little faster on this monday morning. when you look at max defender 8, no surprise here. we aren't finding rainfall which is great news. easier to get that work week started. and now it is still chilly.

but just like yesterday, we warm up quickly. in fact, even warmer than yesterday. 74 by noon. and 81 at 4:00 p.m. and that's comfortable. and with very few clouds. right now, 52 in brooksville. cool, 56 in auburndale. and 56 in wimauma. 67 in st. petersburg. and rich in oldsmar is at 51. so you know it's going to be a beautiful day the today. high pressure just keeps us sunny and pleasant. let me take you on this long east, we see more of an east and southeast wind. so the humidity increases very, very slowly. in the mid-80s by the end of the week. and just enough moisture where i added a 10% rain chance thursday. 20% friday. beautiful weather, leslee. this is difficult to see. i know it looks like a light bright -- light bright. great present for christmas.
