at today. and this issue, we're sure it's going to come up. >> reporter: good morning. mike pence will be here at clearwater aviation later today. one issue he will likely touch on, hillary clinton's emails and this latest twist. now overnight, we learned the united states justice department obtained a warrant to search a computer belonging to anthony weiner. he is being investigated for alley emails from the clinton aide are believed to be on the computer. the fbi director announced the find in a letter to congress on friday. it comes about a week left in the presidential campaign and sent clinton's team scrabbling. listen here. >> is the biggest political scandal since watergate. >> it's pretty strange to put

before an election. >> reporter: and we're told more information on the emails could potentially be released later today. again, governor mike pence will be here to speak to supporters at a hanger here at clearwater aviation. the event gets underway at 6:00 but doors open at 4:00. tickets at this point are still available. back to you. >> thank you. house could come down to florida. both candidates plan to campaign hard right until the very end. hillary clinton will campaign in tampa tomorrow at a get out the vote event. and her husband, former president bill clinton will be in pinellas county tomorrow. and on wednesday, vice president joe biden will stump for clinton in tampa while president barack obama campaigns across the state in jacksonville. for the trump campaign, as ryan just reported, vice presidential candidate mike spence in clearwater today while donald trump's schedule only goes through tuesday, we

well, florida of course is most certainly a battleground state but hillsborough county may be the battleground county. >> yeah, whoever carries hillsborough tends to win it all. the county's majority vote has correctly predicted the winner in 19 out of the last 20 presidential elections. meredyth censullo is in the news center this morning with more on why this part of the state is so critical to the election. political analysts consider hillsborough county a key county, not just for our state, but across the u.s. the county's balance of registered democrats, republicans, and independents makes it one to watch. both the trump and clinton campaigns have made multiple visits to hillsborough county in the past few weeks and as you have heard, that's going to continue as both candidates

more than 232,000 votes have been cast in mail-in ballots and early vote manage hillsborough so far. and so far, democrats lead republicans in voter turn-out by 17%. a closer look at the numbers here, just over 86,000 republicans have voted compared to about 100,000 democrats. that's a difference of more than 14,000 votes so far. every vote could ultimately helpid >> that close and that means, your vote matters that much. remember, the entire election in 2000 was settled by 547 votes here in florida and decided who was president of the united states for the next eight years. >> reporter: any news that comes out by the candidates could be the reason why one or the other walks away with the win and that is why you will

hillsborough county for the next week and a half. gayle -- >> man, interesting that we're that pocket that really decides so much. thank you. well, donald trump is continuing to question the fairness of this election. he is raising doubts about the validity of colorado's mail-in votes. in colorado, all registered voters receive a ballot but can later request a new one or vote in person. this weend person. >> they'll void your old ballot. get your new ballot. and you can make sure it gets in. in some places, they probably do the that four or five times but we don't do that. that but that's great. >> critics say trump's comments might encourage those who have already voted to vote again. but the trump campaign is to make sure that everyone's vote

and other news this morning, tampa police are investigating a deadly shooting at a hotel near busch gardens. gunfire broke out at the tampa hotel on north 22nd street. one man died but a second man is expected to survive. investigators explain it's not an accidental shooting and they are not searching for suspects. a sarasota church is on edge after an armed robbery in the church parking lot. and now the church is telling people to be aware and walk together. this happened at the church of the covenant on tamiami trail. a man approached him. listen to how he describes what happened. >> and there was a man standing next to my car. and he said he wanted some help and wanted some money. and i said, no, that i don't have any. and he grabbed me by the arm. and that's when i reached in my pocket and took the $10 bill that i had out.

the robber ran into the woods. the victim describes the man as white, between 30 and 35 years old, 6'1", and about 190 pounds, long brown hair and a beard, wearing jeans and carrying a blue backpack. and let's turn things over to leigh spann with a check of the monday morning wake-up weather. >> it is above average what you to expect. 68 degrees at 7:00 a.m. and the fast warm-up, 76 at 10:00 a.m. by 2:00, we hit 85. and even 86 at 3:00. and still very mild right on through the evening. so at 5:00, i know the kids may be just heading out to get the first few houses with candy, 84 degrees, light breeze, clear skies and ghostly clouds through the evening but calm,

fans after a heart breaking loss in overtime. the bucs went into the second half ahead. the bucs answered with a touchdown and had a chance to tie it up but they missed the extra point. the peter pirates didn't give up though. they took the lead with a touchdown and two-point conversion. but then the final blow. the raiders tie the game and in overtime, score a touchdown to win it. the bucs have a short turn around now. they host the falcons thursday night here at home. the bucs now have three wins and four losses and are second place in their division. the cubs live to see another day, forcing a game six back in cleveland tomorrow night. the cubbies got a huge outing from starting pitcher john lester who only allowed one hit and two earned runs through six innings. the closer secured game five for the cubs, winning 3-2. the former ray's manager now cub's manager talked about the win

we're back. a tampa music teacher is expected to return to work this morning after losing his girlfriend in a drunk driving crash this summer. >> sean henkins has been recovering for more than two and a half months. mary mcguire is live at the school this morning. and it's been a difficult road of recovery for him. >> reporter: yeah, it's not been an easy past few months. not only did he have to deal but he's had to focus on his recovery after the crash. he and his girlfriend were driving home from the movies on august 14th when it happened. pinellas park police say bryce mccloud was impaired when he hit the couple at the 4000 block of park boulevard. the couple was rushed to the hospital where she passed away from her injuries. >> you would never think just driving from a movie that

and now i'm trying to get back on the road. i'm just super, almost, i don't want to the say paranoid but it's nerve racking. >> reporter: now the driver of that car that crashed into them, bryce mccloud, is charged with dui manslaughter. since the crash, he has been advocating against drunk driving and will participate in a mothers against drunk driving they have created a team in memory of caroline and he is expected to return to work a little bit later this morning, gayle. >> he's had some physical healing and definitely emotional healing to do. incredible he's turning it around into a lesson for everyone. thank you, mary. creepy clown concerns are putting parents on edge this morning. some parents even plan to carry weapons while trick-or-treating

exercise her second amendment right and carry a gun. a mom says she will carry a baseball bat. this follows a nationwide trend of people in creepy clown costumes scaring entire communities. last week, two men were arrested for threatening and chasing people while dressed as clowns. a 3-year-old boy is recovering after a television fell on him. it happened in hudson. the pasco county sheriff's office tells us the tv fell off a dresser. we are making calls this morning to get an update on the boy's condition. and a newly released video is making headlines across america. it shows the chaotic scene when a deranged man charged through security, see it there, at the airport in new orleans. it happened last year. the video obtained by louisiana newspaper, the advocate, shows 63-year-old richard white

early on this monday, time for weather and traffic on the 8s. it's halloween. and still spooky when you look outside because it's going to be dark for quite some time. remember how late the sunrises now. 68 degrees at tampa international airport. 64 degrees dew point. so not mf as far as rainfall, dry as a bone today on this halloween. wickedly warm with a high of 86. that's above average. slowly cooling through the 70s for trick-or-treat time with an overnight low of 67. nothing scary about the sunshine skyway bridge here. it's a great drive. haven't seen any witches but i don't think they sell brooms with headlights. so i will keep an eye on it. howard frankland bridge, looks great as well.

out in manatee county. we do have a fatal crash, both directions of state road 64 at taylor road. blocked. take 62 instead. port tampa bay has now become florida's largest and most diversified. which helps explain why it is one of dana young's regional economy, and 80 thousand local jobs. dana young is working to continue that success, by attracting high waged jobs for families who need them and fighting a bureaucracy that too often gets in the way. dana young for the florida senate.
