detailing his plans for the presidency. repeeling obamacare, highlighting his economic policies and cleaning washington of corruption. >> when we win tomorrow we are going to drain the swamp!. >>reporter: he briefly addressed the latest news that the fbi won't file charges against clinton. >> nobody in this room can believe what's going on with the fbi and what's going on with the department of justice, protected by a totally rigged system. >>reporter: in a brief moment of levity he pulled from the crowd a mask that looks like him. >> nice head of hair i'll say that. >>reporter: donald trump is encouraged by the close poll numbers in battleground states including florida. soda he worked to inspire the crowd and win over undecided voters. >> just imagine what our country could accomplish if we

speaking peter. >>reporter: yeah indeed keith. we heard about a 15 to 20 minute speech from the vice- president. this crowd is pretty energized out here. the speech hit on a number of topics you would expect at a democratic rally. he said that the vote across the nation is basically in our hands here in florida because florida is such a battleground state he urged people to go to the polls tomorrow he says if we win here we will win it across the nation. that was his quote. he says break between fear and division. i'm going step out so you can see the crowd behind me it's better than looking at me e. says in the u.s. right now there is hope and optimism and the country is well position todd compete in this world. one wordy used that defines the democratic process and the democrats that are running and that is possibilities. months from now well you can see right now go to the right you can see jimmy buffett the king of margaritaville. and cheeseburger in paradise he's going to be entertaining
we knew about it on friday and it's now coming to fruition. jimmy buffet is about to entertain this crowd. i'll send it back to you guys. >> peter bernard live at albert whitted park in st. petersburg. tomorrow is election day in case you didn't know but many of you have already cast ballots by early voting mail. a breakdown of these preelection day numbers may give us a little insight into the outcome. >>reporter: people have been coming here all day to drop off their ballots and do some more voting. 49% of voters in hillsborough county have already made their selection. for some it's a matter of convenience. >> for us it's on day off and
we wanted to make sure we got our vote in. >>reporter: julian and voted before the traditional election day. >> i think that people are just taking advantage of it. our lives are so busy these days. it's much easier to taking the kids to soccer or something. let me drop by here and early vote while they are open this week. >>reporter: hillsborough county isn't the only county where people are voting early. 57% of voters ballot in pasco county compared to just 19% in 2012. where people are voting and who is voting early may show us just how the election is going. >> it looks as though particularly african americans and hispanics were encouraged to vote and voting in large numbers. >>reporter: usf political scientist told me both republicans and democrats are trying to get out the early vote. >> also the encouragement of all candidates particularly the
ticket in the presidential race they are encouraging to people get out and vote early. >>reporter: i did take a look at the statewide numbers just a short time ago and so far democrats actually have an edge over republicans across the state of florida in voting early. however, there is a big unknown out there and that is a growing number of people have listed no party affiliation and a lot of them are voting early as well jen. early are election supervisors expecting long lines tomorrow? >>reporter: one of the advantages of early voting. as long as you don't go first thing in the morning, at lunch or last minute when the rush will be on you shouldn't have a problem. if you do have a problem maybe you should have been one of the early voters and you should consider that next time jen.
tampa. thanks jeff. over the weekend john bon jovi performed in st. petersburg joined by clinton's running mate tim kaine. florida newsman brendan mclaughlin has covered florida politics for years he's going to be joining us tonight and tomorrow to give us his perspective as a long time political observer. glad you're here with us. >> good to be here. >> look at that concert we talked not only jimmy buffett beyonce' jay-z bruce springsteen. >> bara tonight. >> donald trump citizen sighes this saying do you really need to have all these concerts. he draws a crowd. >> the mystery he doesn't do this it's a calculated deliberate strategy by the clinton administration to have these or clinton campaign to have these concerts. what they do is they give the tickets away oftentimes in very key voting districts right across the street from an early voting location. so the implication is that come and see the concert however you feel about the artist or the
that's really the emphasis. the key again is in those ticket giveaways that happy at the voting sites they also get valuable voter information, names demographics addresses for database they can use down the road. >> i know some pep would say how do you even know those going are democrats. you're telling me you can see beyonce' jay-z or spring steen, no matter what your party affiliation you may want to go you got to believe a lot of people don't careut of there was a concert in fayetteville north carolina that they did the calculation afterwards they found that the county wide turn out as a result of that concert was up 16%. and they are betting that the majority of those voters are going their way. >> that's why the biggest concert of them all is going to be in pennsylvania:that's a state hillary clinton needs to hang on to donald trump is trying to any at her heels philadelphia going to be a big turn out.
