slow start? >> couple incidents to talk about and zoom to the spot and north of the city, this is 128 going north, there's a stalled vehicle there, it is right before 225 bedford street and in the bedford area and going north, and don't see any delays behind it right now, moving up farther north, 95 going north again, this was a car fire there, it is near 133 main street, it is in the georgetown area, again not seeing anything behind it but it is still there, so keep it in mind and zoom over this what and 290 eastbound and partially blocked at 495 in the marlboro area and elsewhere you could see here on the expressway you're doing fine aside from a couple of isolated pockets where you're just a little bit sluggish but very light volume out there right now and proof of that, traffic on the gas tank on the expressway as you work your way into the city and look at drive times and on the pike 13 minutes route 98 minutes on 128 from route 1 to the weston tolls, only 21 minutes averaging 65 miles per hour right now.

>> catherine, this morning, explosion that rocked a building over the weekend and now the explosion is leading to intense -- led to intensifier that burned up the unit. story we have been covering since the fire broke out on saturday morning. fox25 jessica reyes live in franklin now where neighbors are concerned about a potential threat to their homes. good morning, catherine. >> they are, gene, good morning to you, left with a lot of questions about all of this this morning and taking a look down the street now that it is a little lighter out you could see what is left of the home, really blackened burned out shell of what it was. now, this morning no official cause has been determined on the explosion but the state fire marshal say they are focusing on a propane heating system that may have been disaster. fox25 has learned the victims richard and nancy brown had just moved into the complex about a month ago. we spoke to neighbors over the weekend just hours after this happened. they tell us they are concerned

that could problem bleep happen again. one couple even saying they are not sleeping here until the investigation is complete. >> you know, around the grills and stuff when cooking out the you could smell the propane, no question, you know what it is. >> and state fire marshal's offices continuing to look into what chris may ignited the propane but they do tell us this fire is not suspicious. now, this morning we are continuing to learn more about the victims and coming up in the next half hour we are hearing from a friend and former coworker of richard brown. for now live here in franklin, jessica reyes, fox25 news. >> a close call on the expressway overnight. two people narrowly escape the massive car fire. things went from bad to worse in minutes as the car began to burn fox25 michael henrich is live at the south bay plaza near the scene in dorchester with a look at how they made it out safely. michael? >> sara, it was indeed a close call for these two people.

take a look at the video once again. you could see how dramatic it was, how engulfed this car was with the flames. it happened right here on the expressway, right off exit 16, dorchester, i'm standing safely in the south bay center shopping plaza right off the expressway to give you a look at where this took place. but this is a situation that again could have been much worse, two people were inside. thankfully they did get out all right. the fire department says there was no injuries. as seen in the video they put the flames out, they had to close ramps for a short time in order to clear the scene and now that they are clear they are moving very smoothly i should say on the expressway and offramp of the expressway here. as soon as we learn more about why this car caught fire and what was at play here, we certainly will bring you the update. for now live in dorchester, michael henrich, folks 25 news. >> this morning new hampshire woman is waiting arraignment for allegedly crashing into a state police cruiser.

a traffic stop on 93 in town of thornton when suv struck him yesterday afternoon. the suv skidded off the road and into the tree line. according to new hampshire tape the car involved had been reportedly weaving in and out of traffic just one minute before the crash. the driver 62-year-old kathleen deanglo and sergeant was taken to the hospital and driver was heavily medicated at the time of the crash. deadly crash in weymouth, happened saturday night. francisco gomez was hint the wheel when his car struck a pole there were three passengers in the car, one was killed, no word on his name this morning. gomez is facing several charge including motor vehicle homicide this morning we are working to get an update on the condition of man involved in another crash in weymouth. this one happened saturday in a parking lot off shay memorial drive. the man was flown to the

hospital after struck by a car. police say 46-year-old steven burke hit the man and several parked cars. burke is now facing a few charges including operating under the influence. >> new this morning police in peabody searching for a masked robber. they say he hit the town variety on central street just before 9:00 last night. the suspect had a 12 inch knife and madoff with unknown amount of crash before taking off on peabody square last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and mask and covering the lower half of the face. >> this morning the mother of massachusetts native lost at sea says she does not blame the captain of a missing cargoship. 51-year-old marriott wright one of 33 crew members lost on the el faro. the ship sank after sailing into hurricane joaquin into the bahamas. last night we spoke with her mother mary that still lives in brockton.

>> you love to sea, married to the sea and the sea took her bride. >> mary says she isn't mad at the captain of el faro. she said the ship failed through hurricanes before. >> new england patriots are bringing a perfect record into this week's highly anticipated match-up with the indianapolis colts. tom brady and company big win in dallas. third quarter deon lewis takes pass and taking it for 10-yard touchdown and fourth quarter brady hit wide open julian edelman and 59-yard touchdown and patriots win 30-6. sunday a rematch of the afc championship game from last january better known as deflategate game. hours after the patriot's big win in dallas gun fire erupted in the parking lot, and right now the victim and the suspected gunman are in the hospital.

fox25 daniel miller is here now with now police made quick arrest. >> dangerous situation following the pats-cowboys game. and this is video from the crime scene late last night. we do know this morning one man was shot in the parking lot of at&t stadium. according to fort worth, texas paper and suspect was also injured after he tripped over a retaining wall and taken to the hospital and has been charged this morning. police say officers who responded was going to fight and then heard the gunshot. there was large crowd gathered in the area because of a baseball playoff game taking place at the same complex. this morning the victim is in critical condition we still don't know who game the fan was there for or who he was rooting for. of course, we will be updating you on the investigation as it develops all morning. in the newsroom, daniel miller, fox25 news. boston mayor marty walsh wants to keep a lawsuit with wynn casino as professional as possible. the mayor told the herald casino

shouldn't take the city's lawsuit personally. casino leadership said last week the latest lawsuit came as surprise as both sides met to discuss traffic issues that casinos might bring. governor charlie baker is getting ready to take a tougher stance in the fight against opioid brucia abuse. give hospitals to force addicts to get treatment. doctors could only do so if the addict was considered a danger to themselves or others. doctors, family members, even police can do this already, but only with the judge's approval. state of massachusetts is stepping up its elevator inspections. herald reporting that inspectsors are making required checks 87% of the time. that's actually 8% increase from this spring to increase inspection rate the state hired more inspectors and raised the pay to $70,000 a year.

soldier who wandered away from his camp will not go to jail. decision falls to general who could court-martial bergdahl. >> more strange developments accused of being spy in iran. official in iran say a verdict has been reached in espionage trial of jason hassaan and there's no word on possible sentence and arrested in july of last year and his closed door trial ended two months ago and delay before the verdict has never been explained.

tomorrow a full report is expected on the crash of malaysian airline flight 17. jumbo jet exploded in july of last year. 298 people were killed. flight heading from amsterdam to malaysia. dutch safety official will publish report tomorrow and plane hit by missile by pro russian official in the ukraine. police officer is dead this morning after shot and killed by his neighbor. this happened yesterday when terrance olridge was heading home from work and heading to a domestic fight in the neighborhood and shot multiple times while trying to break it up. >> details are now very very sketchy. investigation is ongoing. we do have one suspect in custody but again, the details are very very sketchy. >> the suspect in custody has not been charged yet. olridge is the fourth officer to be killed in the past four years

and another officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop in august. olridge leaves hint his fiance is four months pregnant. wild video outside of tampa, florida this morning. letters flying all over a bridge when postal truck was hit by a water spout turned tornado. the truck was just ripped to pieces about a dozen drivers saw the whole thing and could not believe their eyes. >> i finally figured out what was going on when i stopped. never been associated with a tornado that close and i feel bad for the guy in the truck because it had to be scary. >> blowing around kind of new version of air mail.

>> i like that one. talking a lot this weekend about foliage because this is one of the biggest money makers in new england, one of the biggest weekends because of the color but color so far behind now the reports i'm getting of peak color coming out of areas like vermont as well as northern maine. although we are seeing some decent color mostly north and west of boston a large part of the area is just only starting to turn now but those areas experiencing peak. expected those to have peaked back in late september and right around this time of year we should be seeing the peak color in southern new hampshire, parts of central and western massachusetts, so we are a couple weeks behind if you are going out in search of some of the best color, my treat for you the fact it is going to be sunny and in the 70s, going to be really mild no matter where you're going from boston and worcester at 74 to hyannis at 70, manchester, new hampshire 77, portland, maine 70 and even burlington, vermont 74, so pretty rare treat here for october and starting out if the 40s and 50s, boston coming

by noon time 70 and 76 here at 3:00 p.m. giving satellite and radar kind of a little bit of breather today, there's not much going on because the cloud cover will be pretty limited, no rain drops until we hit the overnight hours, so future cast today will feature the warm and sunny weather. overnight you can see clouds starting to thicken up from south to north and this is the rain that we are going to be watching closely and newest update the bulk of that heaviest rain is askewed a little bit further out to sea and areas risk for showers really plymouth southward but in particular the cape and nantucket where we will see overnight rain into the morning commute tomorrow, even chance for rumble of thunder of that and pulls out to sea and pulls away by noon time, noon time is coming in mostly cloudy but also mostly dry and then we pull in for the rest of us some spot showers here for the late afternoon and evening hours. those potentially impacting the drive home but for tomorrow night when we have a couple

showers around it is not widespread, very very hit or miss and meantime let's enjoy the sunshine while we can because we got the vor -- 74 in boston and 73 in portsmouth and 77 high temperature in norwood, framingham, burlington, lawrence, hudson and mildford, new hampshire, over to shirley, worcester about 74 this afternoon and more middle 70 spots like hull and bridgewater, plymouth 73 and although sandwich and hyannis get up to about 70 , large chunk of the cape and islands will max out in the upper 60s but for october that's great. this is more like late august instead of october. overnight tonight it is 50s but there you have it, we have chance for showers, greatest over the cape and islands but nantucket we will have to watch for you getting perhaps even nicked by a thunderstorm overnight and into tomorrow morning but then tomorrow's forecast, hey, we still got 70s, so it is still warm. we just got the showers that will come along with it. by wednesday 66 , on and off clouds, dry wednesday to thursday and friday next batch of showers and this one does

look a little more substantial and by the weekend big time cooldown, no more 70s. 70s just for the next two days over the weekend highs in the 50s, highs in the 40s in some spots by sunday and we got wake-up temperatures in the 30s. so let's again soak up the sunshine and warmer weather when we can. search of forecast and get over to catherine parrotta with live drive time traffic. >> give you some look at roadways from the cameras this morning and tobin bridge and you can see traffic on the upper deck moving just fine and look at route 1 in saugus, see volume there very very light as you pass the lynn fells parkway and look at the zakim as well in the leverett connector and volume there also light, of course, it is a monday holiday so if you are heading into work today probably be your advantage and giving you one more look here this is as traffic passing the gas tank on the expressway heading into the city and again nice smooth ride and another update coming up in just a little bit.

this is ten days before she is set to testify on the benghazi attack. this morning donald trump still leading republican polls and race to the white house. most recent cbs news shows ben carson trailing closely behind and trump 27% while carson has trump% and ted cruz took 3rd 3rd place followed by florida senator marco rubio. jeb bush and carly fiorina are tied at 6%. aerosmith steven tyler told donald trump to keep dreaming. this is the second time he has a cease and desist campaign. trump used dream on as he walked on stage and tyler's lawyer says this is a copyright issue and false impression that the singer endorses trump's presidential bid. candidates looking for the

democratic nomination are preparing for their first debate five hopefuls take the stage in los angeles tomorrow to go head-to-head on the big issues but one familiar face will not be joining them. rumor continue to swirl that vice president joe biden is gearing up to throw his hat into the ring. even if that happens the next 24 hours he does not plan to take part in tomorrow night's debate. lawmakers in california are going where the nfl will not. state now first to ban public schools from using redskins as team name or mascot. it will take effect january. owner of the washington redskins has refused to change the name. this morning peta picking a fight with american outfitters and selling free people clothing this has many products made from the fur and peters says the

emc sent us statement within the last 20 minutes saying stockholders still have to approve of the sale. dell says the deal is for more than $10 billion. now, despite talks of job cuts at emc the company hopes the deal will help the data storage business which is seeing an increase in competition. >> travel headache starting to ease this morning at airports across the country including here at logan. southwest airlines ran into some technical issues over the weekend and first thing this morning we saw long lines at the ticket counter. stephanie coueignoux is live at the airport where things are moving along a little bit better right now. good morning, stephanie. >> gene, finally some good news if you're waking up and last night you went to bed thinking there were massive delays. that is no longer the case. taking look behind me you can see everything is really running smoothly here at southwest ticket count and her last minute i did get an update from an employee and he told me the

pretty much up and running. they had anticipated another entire day of delays but does not seem to be the case, so hopefully within the next few hours everything will be running smoothly and look at video. this is what the same area looks like at 5:30 this morning and different story 70 people or so in line more waiting to print boarding passes at kiosk here and issue having to do with computer glitches that prevented southwest customers from checking in online and 450 flights impacted, lines were huge at lax yesterday, those delays also impacting flights here at logan,man, new hampshire and tf green and rhode island. earlier this morning i spoke with one traveler who told me he is a frequent flier but even he was stress the because it took him hours to check in.

fire at mashpee boatyard and what they found yesterday and one floating away on fire and another still at the dock on flames and whole thing spilled fuel into the water and no one was hurt. know the name of the man shot and killed by beverly. district attorney's office says 49-year-old christopher witmash was killed saturday afternoon and learned the information just before the fox25 news at 10:00 last night. shooting happened after a woman called police and said that the man was ramming her car with his suv -- her suv with the car and officers arrived and ordered him to get out of the vehicle and shot when refused. >> marshfield police say they are still searching for more people linked to the murder of man in september. on friday they were both
