we are talking about a little bit chilly out there this morning. temperatures in the 50s, 40s out in western parts of the state but we will see a warm-up for the day today where we should be if not a couple degrees warmer. however, we got some really cool conditions heading our way especially as we head toward the weekend. future cast showing good amount of sunshine to start the day and temperatures start 50s to the lower 60s, mid-60s by your lunch hour and also notice the clouds thickening up a bit too and cold front that comes through. barely moisture starved but could allow spot shower or two and by the afternoon we are mid to upper 60s, cooler across the higher elevations worcester county as well as southwestern new hampshire and these temperatures will rapidly cool down as we head through the next couple of days and into the weekend. so today not too bad, see the on and off clouds, slight chance of shower, some areas could get near the 70-degree mark and show you where coming up in a little bit and tracking traffic all what's going on.

information, the investigation continues, but they do say they now believe there was a second vehicle involved in this. here is what we know about the incident. according to state police it happened just before 11:00 last night they say that's when a man told state police vehicle has been shot. he said it happened as he was driving on 495 south in wrentham near exit 15 and man wasn't injured. state police did find ballast tick evidence on the vehicle and there's preliminary suggests car was not a random target and even though nobody was injured, certainly very scary, when you think about cars that may have been traveling nearby. meantime we did a crew on the scene overnight and abe to gather information about the position of the bullet holes on the vehicle and also how the man recorded this to state police. we will have more on that part of the story the next half hour. now live here in foxborough, catherine parrotta, fox25 news. >> happening today a mental healing evaluation will be held this morning for the danvers teen accused of murdering his
yesterday jury selection was put on hold for philip chism after his lawyers claim he was banging his head against the floor of his padded jail cell. chism's lawyers do not believe he is competent to stand trial so the judge has ordered another mental evaluation which could delay the trial by several weeks chism was 14 when he was charged with the rape and murder of danvers math teacher colleen ritzer. he is being tried as an adult. local high school teacher is facing charges that he strangled a woman. 57-year-old james page is on paid administrative leave from greater lowell technical high school. police say he grabbed a woman by the neck and threatened her life she ended up in the hospital. his bail is set at $50,000 and he faces up to seven years in prison. democrats take center stage in las vegas for the first presidential debate and after seeing her lead slip in recent polls hick is being called the clear winner this morning. fox25 daniel miller live in the
newsroom with the look at some of the highlights from the debate. >> good morning. five democrats vying for nomination touched on gun control, wall street, middle class and spread of violence in the middle east. what the debate lacked, however, the personal attacks at the center of the republican debate. for the first time the five democrat candidates for president are together on stage at the wynn hotel and casino in las vegas. front-runner hillary clinton explained shifts in policy position. >> i'm a progressive, but i'm a progressive that likes to get things done. >> former rhode island governor lincoln chafe whoa switched parties also addressed the issue of flip-flopping. issues. i was a liberal republican and then independent and now parade democrat but i have not changed on the issues. >> economic and equality was major theme for the night. >> i want to associate myself with many of the items that the senator from vermont mentioned and actually did them in our state.
we raised minimum wage, invested more in infrastructure, went four years without increase with college tuition. >> people are disgusted the way the money has corrupted the political process, intimidating, income dents and empowering wall street everyday. former secretary of state of hillary clinton butted head with bernie sanders on several issues including capitalism. >> i consider myself part of the casino capitalist process by which so few have so much and so many have so little by which wall street recklessness wrecked the economy no, i don't. >> i think standards are saying certainly makes sense in the terms of the inepiquality that we have but we are not denmark. i love denmark. we are the united states of america. >> two did agree on at least one issue. >> i think secretary is right. and that is that the american people are sick and tired of hearing about your e-mails. >> thank you. me too.

one of the vehicles wound up being left in the middle of the road in front of a house and the other was later recovered in wellesley. police say suspects broke into at least 20 cars. all of them were unlocked. middlesex county district attorney is denying that her office bullied a medical examiner. d.a. marian ryan tells fox25 she is puzzled by claims made in case notes that we obtained yesterday. they deal with the death of a baby in malden in 2010. it was originally ruled a homicide and child's father jeffrey wilson was charged with murder. but last year the me changed the cause of death to undetermined based on new evidence. in notes the me calls prosecutors unethical and unprofessional and d.a. ryan disagrees. >> the only thing that had be unethical is for us not to follow the evidence in a responsible way. >> charges against jeffrey wilson were dropped. the wilson family has hired an attorney to look into the claims
made by this medical examiner. 7:08 and this morning an investigation into a deadly circus tent collapse in new hampshire reveals there are more people in that ten than originally thought. authorities initially said about 100 people were under the tent at lancaster fairgrounds when the severe storm blew through the area on august 3rd and according to the caledonian record ticket sales did not depict pickup people were inside because adults could bring children in for free. 41-year-old father and six-year-old daughter from concord, vermont were killed. 50 others were hurt. veteran medford police officer who was caught on video threatening to shoot a wrong-way driver has now resigned. >> put hole through your head. >> okay, okay, okay. >> officer steven labetter made the announcement yesterday two days before he was scheduled before disciplinary hearing about the incident and dash cam threatening and shouting expletives at driver back in july and happened while he was off-duty. the department has placed him on
unpaid leave until the retirement papers are processed. brookline firefighter accused of attacking a homeless man at taco restaurant has been released on own recognizance. joseph ward punched, kicked and threw food and bottle at the man for taking too long to order food at anna's tacoria sunday night. ward is charged with assault and battery with dangerous weapon. the fire department has placed him on administrative leave. >> a quincy couple pleads not guilty in the murder of a marshfield man. attorney and girlfriend loren accused of plotting to steal african-american artifacts in gem stone from robert mckenna. he was found dead in his home nearly a month ago. prosecutors say massratolt and lauren helped cover it up and they were arrested three weeks. >> michael contacted one of ferguson's friends inquiring
