boston, waking up to 53. and 53 in marshfield. but strip of showers will continue across southern new hampshire very spotty and light. keane, 45 degrees. with showers. orange, 42 degrees. and with only light rain in place. and in worcester, 48. still dry but, showers tracking toward you. we have got holes in the clouds here over southeast massachusetts. you will be the bright spot hitting the road with temperatures in the 50s. by 9:00 a.m. threat of showers reaches boston extending up to north shore on over to worcester providence. last of the showers hanging on at the coastline. this is a brand new future cast. even if you have seen this. come back over. it is slower to let up on showers at noon time. most of us dry with clouds lingering across the temperatures. temperatures upper 50s to 60s at lunch. into the afternoon it gets brighter and brighter, as we go. spot showers early today. highs of 58 to 64. and the winds, something that

but winds will turn quite gusty. more on that coming up. here is julie grauert with live drive time. where is the new accident. >> a glimpses from skyfox. pike eastbound before route 16 in knew tonight. you can see it is a parking lot out there right now. and the accident just happened within the last five minutes. and it is going to cause some significant delays, on the pike. as you can see stretching back past 128. and may start to work the way back into the natick area. we will see how quickly they clear it. north of town, route 16. westbound near rivers edge drive. and here are the live drive times. 20 minutes on the pike from weston tolls to ted williams tunnel. 32 minutes on expressway from braintree split to pike. 40 minutes on 93 south from 495 on leverett connect tor. gene, back to you. >> all right. breaking news in boston. as young man falls three stories from the roof of a triple decker. rushed to the hospital.

just after midnight. fox 25 news jessica reyes live if boston. where police are trying to figure out what happened here. jess, good morning. >> good morning to you gene. police were out here for a couple of hours after the fact trying to piece together what happened. but we do know this was a serious fall. this young man fell from the roof deck, you see up on the top of the triple decker b 40 feet. we are told that he does have some serious injuries this morning. and taking a look at the scene here. this was around 1:00 this morning. right after this happened. here on hillside street. you can see there was a large response here. several police, ambulances and fire trucks were out here for quite some time this morning. and you can also see a group of young people. they look to be about this victim's age standing on the front porch of the multi-family home. at this point it is not clear whether or not they know the victim in this case. we do know we have serious injuries. initial reports were to the arms.

but it is not clear at this point how extensive those injuries r we have calls and e-mails in to boston. ems. as soon as we have word we will let you know. for now, live if boston. jessica reyes, fox 25 news. >> developing news right now in groton, as a fire sweeps through a christian camp. we have been following the story since the flames broke out last night. fox 25 news michael henrich is live from groton with a look at the building lost. and you have new pictures that were treated out -- tweeted out last night should. >> that's right. i will share them in a minute. we have been asked to push back further from the scene. by the firefighters. that remain here at this grotonwood christian camp here in grottonight. firefighters staying overnight to deal with potential hot spots. and expecting the fire marshal to return here this morning. and continue the investigation into why this historic building burned down last night, and p i want to show you the pictures. tweeted out by one of the fire departments that assisted groton.

littleton fire department. tweeting out two pictures showing the extent of the blaze as it was at, what appears to be its peak. this building, which little sun reports is 275-year-old building originally a swan and retrofitted into a dormitory for this camp here. it caught fire. it is a complete loss at this point. seven fire departments ended up coming out to assist w about 65 firefighters helping out in all. thankfully, none of those crews were hurt. time of the fire. thankfully i can report this morning there were no injuries. yes. as soon as we have that. we will bring it to you in another update here on fox 25 morning news. but for now, reporting live in groton michael henrich fox 25 news. >> investigators say someone poured gasoline around the outside of a duplex on autumn. car belonging to a resident sent

on fire. neighbors sent pictures of the flames. tenant on the first floor helped to put out the fire. made sure that everyone inside was safe. >> and started where i smelled gas. i thought why do i smell gas? ten seconds later. i heard an explosion. seen a ball of fire shoot-out the bedroom window. >> no arrests made. fithousand dollars reward is offered in this case. >> and we have breaking news right now. out of turkey. turkish military said it has shot down an unidentified aircraft that violated its air space. happened near turkish border with syria. media reports aircraft was a drone. no word yet on where the drone is from. but there were several incidents of russian aircraft violating turkish air space recent weeks. turkish military said they warned the craft a number of times before shooting down. we will follow this story and bring you break-in developments as soon as they come in.

more than a dozen guns off the streets in haverhill. list and federal agents arrested 19 people during raids on wednesday. and they also confiscateed this collection of shot guns, assault rivals and handguns. police say it is part of an investigation boot sale of heroin and other drug rings in haverhill. >> this morning, the search continues for a westwood woman missing in the white mountains. 64-year-old clair marie cacu sew heard from a week ago after telling friends that she was planning a five day week on 26 miles. her brother reported her missing after she did not show up for work this week. police say there are other hikers on the trails for leaf peeping season but no sign of her. >> we know that she is not on the trail or in that vicinity. we have to start searching off trail.

and not pointing the last known location, makes the search area larger. >> she is believed to be an experienced hiker. fish and game department asking anyone that may have seen her along the trail to call them. and this morning, we are learning that a manchester new hampshire woman found dead in a crawl space of her apartment, was strangled to death. 57-year-old sue hutchinson went missing last month and body found sunday. officials continue to focus on hutchinson's roommate stephen ondra, found dead of a apparent suicide this month. >> dorchester foster moyer convicted in the death of a four-year-old boy. out of prison. spent eight years in jail for involuntary manslaughter in 2007. she was convicted of killing dontle jeffers. child had been in her home for only 10 days. relatives of the child have been outspoken about the sentence. and department of children and family. >> parishioners at a scituate

church will continue the 24 hour vigil despite ordered to close the doors. this week an appeals court ordered parishioners at the st. francis cabrini church to give up the 11 year fight. church one of 50 ordered to close by archdioceses back in 2004. and parishioners say they plan to appeal the decision to the state supreme court. and the u.s. supreme court if necessary. >> a brookline firefighter on administrative leave and facing operating under the influence charges after a weekend crash that hurt another man. jeremy joseph accused of hitting a car head on in newton. victim speaking only to fox 25 news. reggie adkins said at first he did stop and then got back in the badly damaged suv and took off. >> even if you are intoxicated you know a person is messed up. like you got out of your vehicle, and you looked at me. and you saw me, and say help me, please help me.

>> police say when they arrested joseph short time later he smelled like alcohol and unsteady on his feet. jeremy joseph pled not guilty to ou. and i am leaving the scene. >> house speaker finrin gets apay back. he is go interest ratesed to retirement money despite 2007 conviction on federal obstruction of justice charges. now this morning, new, the globe is reporting that he is entitled to more than $225,000 in back payments funded by the taxpayers. finrin's pension worth $33,000 a year. >> governor bake serworking to fight back against the opioid crisis. yesterday he unveiled a dramatic new plan to stop people from dyeing from -- dying from overdoses. in the last four years the number has tripled. >> this has to stop. >> baker's plan focus on what the governor is calling a key 72 hour period and here is how it

into hillsborough and peterborough. passing portsmouth. >> uber drivers planning a strike and expected to start tonight and last through sunday. fox 25 news daniel miller is >> there could be. some uber drivers across the nation plan to strike this weekend. they won't log onto the app and pick up thousands of passengers everywhere. strike is all in protest to reduce compensation. promoteed on several websites. stop will start 5:00 today. and run through 10:00 p.m. on sunday. which is uber's busy time of the week. here are demands from drivers you see. higher rates for rides. so that they take home more money technically. drivers. which is really one of the no tipping. and finally they want other fees like tolls to go up as well. no word on if uber drivers here are planning this strike.

but if they do it could mean big surge pricing for riders. if some drivers hit the road. we will watch it. in the newsroom. daniel miller fox 25 news. >> we continue to follow developments in israeli where tensions are high. officials are barring young muslim men from entering jerusalem most sensitive holy site. this is the third holiest site for muslims and sits on top of the hill where hoeest jewish site is. the scene of recent violence. this is as violence escalates. this morning palestinians targeted holy sites in the city of nablas, over the last month 30 palestinians killed and at least eight israelis. >> we are honoring our cox conserve heroes. big winner. and huge congratulations to rocky morrison. and clean river project. morrison given cox hero award for his efforts as founder of the clean river project.

volunteer initiative that removed thousands of tires. 62 cars. and tons of recyclable material from the merrimack river. morrison started the efforts more than 10 years ago and said it is because the area around the merrimack is his home. >> born and raised on the river, something told me to clean. my wife and i we started on t and we have seen one cleaning what we can do on how much debris we can deplete one day. i was bitten by the bug. >> $10,000 donated to the project as part of the program. 51 set river watershed association and audubon nature center runners up each getting $5000 for their non-profit. the program was created in partnership with a trust positive public land to recognize local environmental volunteers. congratulations to all the winners. >> thank you for their hard work to make the world a better place. we do want to tell you about an accident on pike eastbound. we brought you live pictures

putting it on the threats today. showers spotty. mostly light. breezy, which is more of a nuisance, than the rain drops today. but then the frost and freeze over the weekend. is a big concern. this massive cool down. coldest weather so far this fall on the way for the weekend early and next week. temperature i wise right now. 48 had worcester. we have showers nearing in on you right now. so closing in on you. we have got a lot of clouds around. 14 miles an hour winds from the southwest. which is, at least, keeping you mild. 53 degrees at 11:00 a.m. top out in the upper 50s. much like the past several days. the risk of rain is highest through about 10:00 this morning. for you. and then you dry out. boston is dry. 53 degrees. but certainly clouding over. you get the showers later. i will give the best chance for showers between eight and 10:00 a.m. but it is not going to be raining that whole time. couple of passing showers in there. that's it. by 11:00 you return to the dry weather.

this afternoon it is brighter. and you have highs that will climb back to the lower 60s. so check out the highs for today. do bear in mind it will get brighter. this rain is a morning thing. and beverly 62. same in boston. 63 in plymouth. and 65 on the vineyard. i have upper 50s in worcester and orange. my cool spots, nashua up to 62 degrees. and here is how it goes. through 10:00 a.m. showers will drift eastward here. which means eastern massachusetts, eastern new hampshire, and the target zone here by 10:00 this morning. lots of clouds still at the coastline. by noon time, most of the shower activity will be done. i don't want to rule out a shower herling ring outer cape. eastern mass, clouds around. inland you are brightening up. we will all do so in the afternoon, and friday night plans look fantastic. dry. with only a few clouds. more and more clouds overnight. and by 7:00 tomorrow morning. you will wake up to mostly cloudy skies. enone or two sprinkles up north.

next what has the team t >> happening today. two democratic hopefuls head to new hampshire. hillary clinton scheduled to hold a townhall meeting at keane state college before going to nashua for meet and greet. martin o'malley going to conford events. currently no other candidate in the race spending or raising as much as hillary clinton. she is $33 million in cash reserve. republican donald trump heads to kingsbury for a campaign stop. he will hold a rally at the town's elementary school tonight. yesterday mostly self funded candidate tweeted a photo of his tax return. trump sends a big check back to ernie bock, he said ernie bock junior violated election laws with $87,000 donation to trump campaign. individual limit is $2700. the trump campaign now has to return the difference. money was for catering at a fund raiser hosted by bock in august.

pennsylvania are now investigating violent threats league. police in western pennsylvania say bullet casings with names of league officials were found near a field there. this follows other threats against referees and coaches and league administrators. as a result the rest of the season is canceled. kids say they are very disappointed. >> everybody is not about it. but my team is mostly down. we were going to go to superbowl. and that's out the window. >> some parents believe the threats are from people that have complained that players are too old. or weigh more than is allowed by league rules. >> the danvers teenager accused of killing his math teacher is undergoing a evaluation. dangerous history we have been following at the hospital. where he will be evaluated. >> and let the cool down begin today. i am tracking a couple of rain drops. 62 this afternoon. and giant cool down over the

through brighton. and here are the live drive times. we are 22 minutes from speen street on the pike eastbound to washington street. 23 minutes from the weston tolls to ted williams tunnel. 34 minutes expressway from braintree exit to the pike. back to you. >> we are still following breaking news in boston this morning. >> a man fell from a triple decker in boston overnight. emergency crews rushed him to the hospital. with multiple injuries. fox 25 news jessica reyes is live near the apartment where he fell. and with a look at the investigation. jess? >> they told us it was quite a night. they say that this teenager, 18-year-old, lives on the third floor of the multi-family home. he was up on the roof deck with his roommates when he fell early this morning. looking at the video now. this was the scene right after this happened o hillside street

and you can see the response was very large. several emergency vehicles were here for quite some time after the fact. as police work to piece together what happened here early this morning. as this is all happening. you can see a group of young people standing on the porch. but right now it is not clear if they knew the victim or those were his roommates. working to clarify that. but this victim does have serious injuries. he was rushed to brigham and womens where he is this morning. i just reached out to boston ems once more to get an update on the condition. and as soon as we have hear back i will let you know. for now, live in boston. jess jerks fox 25 news. >> developing right now, and car slammed into a home in braintree late last night. police say the vehicle is connected to a crime spree in walpole. catherine parrotta is live near the crash site with a look at how the cases are connected. good morning catherine? >> good morning on washington street in braintree. as it gets lighter out. you can see the damage in front

of the home, and you can see the fence has been completely knocked over it. looks like some of the dirt turned up in the front yard as well. this, of course, is where the car crashed. but that's just one part of the story. according to police this started as a crime in another community. this home is at 1860 washington street here in braintree. but the car crashed into that fence here. last night. during a police pursuit. but according to the walpole police chief this car is one of two stolen from that community earlier this week. on monday chief carmichael reported over a dozen cars broke into. and in addition to the two stolen. the community is also experienced a rash of home break-ins as fox 25 news robert goulston reported. minutes after the crash chief took to twitter confirming the car in braintree is a stolen vehicle. three arrested after reportedly trying to take off on foot. as we said this was one of two stolen vehicles from walpole. and police chief said that second vehicle was found. more on that part of the story

next hour. live in braintree. catherine parrotta fox 25 news. >> investigators are hoping a new sketch will help them to track down a serial rap i did insist brockton. look at the sketch released by plymouth county district attorney's office. da said the attacks happened in brockton between 2013 and 2014. and the man has been seen in the downtown area of brockton. but could also have ties to easton. described as a man in his 20s, about 6 feet tall. 180 pounds. he is possibly driving a dark blue or black sports car. investigators have not said how many rapes occurred. >> 7:35 morning. and trial for a danvers teenager accused of murdering a math teacher on hold while the judge calls for another mental evaluation. judge ordered the testing yesterday after phillip chisholm started to act odd during jury selection. the 16-year-old kept bang i his head on things and talking to himself. prosecutors are concerned that chisholm may be putting on a

show to delay the trial. mental health evaluation could take up to 20 days. >> more details on the hospital where chisholm will be evaluateed is called the worcester recovery center and hospital. and that's same hospital fox 25 news investigated earlier this year. for the large number of patient on worker assaults. we have a record that shows since 2003 there were nearly 200 reported attacks on workers. and after the fox 25 news investigation state made some changes. log on to myfoxboston.com. and click on the fox25 investigates tab, to see our report. >> revere man accused of threatening the family of a local business owner. 53-year-old roger williamson arraigned yesterday on several charges, including larceny and witness intimidation. prosecutors say he is a scam artist has took money from people that invested in a fake restaurant venture. one alleged victim that rented property to williamson said he was the target of repeated harassment. and a stone hill college student accused of making threats on

campus suspended from school. wellesley native benjamin diabis arrested yesterday. and arrest is related to threatening note left in the bathroom last month. this caused the campus to be shut down. >> and new this morning. family that lost everything in this fire in quincy said their community has rallied around them like never expected. sylvia and lowery tell the patriot ledger their maritime neighbors were like family and in the wake of the fire they have given them a place to stay. and helped them to raise $5000. their insurance company will cover the cost of the boat. but nothing else. >> and soon more students in manchester new hampshire will be exposed to a graphic presentation showing the effects of heroin. some of the images are so graphic that we cannot show them on tv. fox 25 news was there last night when parents of middle school students got a look at the images that caused an uproar at the high school last month. some were concerned about preteens seeing the pictures of

dead bodies and babies with birth defects. and others tell fox 25 news it is important that all the students see this presentation. >> this is not something that we can joke b this is not something that, you know, we need to brush under the carpet and just let our kids think that, you know, it is not going to happen to me. >> students will not be forced to watch the presentation. parents will have a chance to opt their children out. >> and a local police officer caught sleeping in his cruiser while on-duty no longer on the force. lowell sun said that jeff moore submitted his resignation. friday paper published a picture showing the officer sleeping in a marked police car. he even had a pillow in the car. city officials placed moore on leave before his resignation. >> slot machine revenue at plain ridge parka seen know has slipped for the second straight month. according to gaming commission, the plainville casino generated $12.6 million in september. and when the casino opened in july it brought in $18 million. plain ridge parent company said

the trend is consistent with other casino openings. >> and a local landmark is year. owner of midevil manner in south boston said he is closing the dinner theater. globe said final show is on new years eve. owner blames rising office and flat attendance. since 1973 generations of fans enjoy eating pole industry with matter. >> this morning, arlington police officer is credited with saving a man's life. officer michael hogan tells fox 25 news this happened wednesday night at the edvern arena. playing hockey with over 40 league when teammate went down and did not get up. hogan said at first he thought he was playing a joke until he realized the 76-year-old did not have a pulse. that's when hogan started cpr and someone else grabbed the defibrillator. >> i am glad i was there and able to help. but it is just luck. everything was timed perfectly.

liquor torat the corner of main and madison. 1:30 a.m. this morning. car smashed through the front entrance and ended up all the way inside. no one was hurt. building inspectors will be there today to make sure it is structural safe. >> developing out of groton. historic building at the summer camp destroyed overnight. michael henrich is at the scene of the christian camp where it took dozens of firefighters to knock down the flames. michael, good morning. >> good morning. 65 in all from seven different some firefighters are still here. they monitor the scene overnight. historic building did become a total loss. and they were bored hot spots. and the neighboring tree lines and other buildings here at the grotonwood christian camp. so stayed on scene. at this point, the fire marshal is expected back this morning. investigation into why the fire started is ready to recommence. all started 7:45 p.m. two-alarm fire.

lowell sun reports it was originally a barn. built 275 years ago. but was most recently used for the last several decades as a dormitory here at the camp. now thankfully the civil lining here is it was just a building in the end. and no people hurt. nobody inside when it broke out. none of the dozens of firefighters that came to respond, to this fire, ended up getting hurt. and the sun reports that the camp does plan on likely plans on rebuilding that dormitory. now as soon as we have word on how this fire might have tarted. what investigators are thing. along those lines. we certainly will bring that update on fox25 morning news. groton. michael henrich fox 25 news. >> arsonist is on the loose in everett. poured gasoline around the outside of a duplex on autumn street. a car belonging to one of the residents was also set on fire. and neighbors sent us pictures of the flames.

but first i want to show you this video we have new video closer up to the yard here. so you can get a better look at the damage of the this is 1878 washington street in braintree. you can see the tire ruts in the lawn. pieces of the fence strewn around. the car ended up crashing into the fence around 10:00 last night. during a police pursuit. according to the walpole police chief. car involved in this crash is one of two stolen in walpole earlier this week. the owner of the home said he had just gone upstairs to watch tv and heard the news outside. this is what he said. listen. >> the car obviously was coming from this direction and hit the granite curb. i don't know how fast he was going. but i put rocks out here to kind of stop those kind of events. jumped right over the top. never even touched the rocks. and hit the edge of the tree over there. just skinned it a bit. airborne. must have landed right here. >> homeowner tells us people inside of the vehicle ran off.

few homes away. walpole police chief tweeted moments after it happened that lee people were arrested. now the homeowner has been living in this home for over 35 years. he said it is not the first time a car crashed through the fence, although it is the first time a car was involved in a police pursuit when it happened. he will have yard work today to do. calls out to braintree police try to get updates on suspects and identities and some of the circumstances involved here. for now, live if braintree. catherine parrotta fox 25 news. >> now 8:36. investigators are hoping a new sketch will help them to track down a serial rape insist brock tonight. look at the sketch released by plymouth county district attorney's off. da said that the attack all happened in brockton between 2013 and 2014. and the man has been seen in downtown area of brockton. but also could have ties to east end. suspect described as man in his 20s about 6 feet tall. 180 pounds.

daniel miller has the update. >> video is incredible to look at. parts of i-five in southern california is closed this morning. crews say it will take a day to clear it. as mud covers the road. look at the video, i-five. 40 miles north of los angeles. several vehicles buried in mud as it flowed over the freeway. caused by flash flooding. rock left a portion of the freeway near grapevine impassable. boulders filled the freeway bringing traffic to a halt both directions. some motorists fled and others trapped in cars called 911 for help. >> my car carried away almost over the side. >> this morning officials say another state highway has also been hit by a different mud slide. also this morning. state officials warn that because of the drought in california and el nino, mudslides like the one you sathere, could be more common in the months ahead. in the newsroom.

route one in peabody to weston tolls. meteorologist shiri spear keeping track of a cold weekend ahead. and what can we look forward to today? >> we have the rain but we have rain in and out during the morning hours. so i mean, if there is a silver lining, at least it is the fact had you have afternoon sunshine. quiet drive home from work. these are showers that i have in place. now along a cold front that is progressing eastward. so showers will, in the back end of the rain moves in that direction as well. one of the trouble with putting trackers on showers though. is that they are kind of filling in up ahead of the showers. so it is not just this point in the shower shifting this way. it is all filling in along the front now. so new bedford. getting some of the worst of the weather now. south coast will take the brunt of that. up to portions of the south shore up to, say, plymouth and cape and islands. so those areas as that front comes through, we have some concerns over thunderstorms. a bit of lightning. some downpours. rest of the area you get showers moving through in boston right

now looks like rain is moving in. sky is darkening. 54 degrees current temperature. southwest wind at 14 miles an hour. and as showers come through. that was fast. do not be surprised to see a couple of winds gust. i have wind gusts reported in 20 miles an hour range for cape. we will see 20, potentially, hit miles an hour gusts here through the rest of the morning to early afternoon. 10 a.m. we have a lot of the showers stretched across north shore of boston. under done. based on what i am seeing on radar. i can tell you there will be more over southeast massachusetts. it is going to be back through worcester. and then by noon time, showers coming to an he had. still a couple of spots to watch along the coastline. for an isolated, lonely shower here at noon. most russ dry. but coping with clouds across eastern massachusetts. and you can see though that we make that positive turn as we get into the afternoon. with more sunshine developing later today. so 61 degrees in boston. 61 in beverly. 61 in lowell and framingham.

56, cooler in worcester. and in keane. and we have low-and-mid 60s down to the cape and islands. tomorrow it will be highs in the 50s. and 55 in foxboro. 53 in boston. and nashua. 54 beverly. 56 this plymouth. followed by the 40s here on sunday. a lot of off-and-on clouds. but mostly dry. as we look at the weekend forecast tomorrow. better chance for showers heading into northern new england. not just rain showers. northern new england gets a bit of snow. this is just going to be for the mountains. way up north. locally it is going to be a few rain showers. in the form of some sprinkles clouds early. brighten up for lunch time. dry out. then as we hit the late afternoon, and evening. we will see clouds bubble back in. and potential again for a loan liz shower. that means most of us see dry weather saturday. sunday as well. seeing more unsettled with few more clouds around. and definitely a cold start to the morning. and then during the afternoon. off-and-on clouds but i will go ahead and keep it dry.
