for hours, and they do confirm that a 30-year-old man was shot twice and killed in this immediate area right around midnight this close to the scene authorityly after this happened here in brighto n, and you can see police focusing on this silver suv you see here. that car belonged to the victim. witnesses say a man shot that victim twice and took off running through that parking lot toward western avenue. right now police are continuing to go through surveillance video from the shopping center hope hoping to get a clear look at this suspect. the boston police superintendent was here a few hours ago and he said they have not yet determined if this shooting was random or not but they are continuing to seek witnesses and working to put this together. they are also asking for any help from the public, anyone who might know more about this or perhaps saw something last night to call boston police right away. we are live in brighton this news. also breaking this morning overseas, a deadly bus crash in france.

42 people have been killed in a collision between a bus and a truck in the southwest part of the country near the diof bordeaux. this video is from the scene where there are a number of ambulances and fire crews from the scene and officials say the death toll is still high because that bus caught fire. a radio station reporting the bus was primarily carrying elderly people. so authorities have not said where the people on the bus are testimony from. following breaking news overnight in nashville where police are investigate police are investigating a deadly campus shooting at tennessee state university. the gunfire erupted at a campus courtyard around midnight. daniel miller has the latest developments. >>daniel: one person has died and two are in the hospital. metro nashville police say this happened in the courtyard at the college just after midnight our time. a nashville up into reports a university spokesperson said the man who died was not a student at the school. the paper also says the other two people were students and their injuries are not

this all started to every a dice game. right now police are made all nonstudents leave that campus and they blocked an entrance to the school. just last week, three people were shot during a house party near tennessee state university near tennessee state university. they were all okay but the gunman is still at large this morning. we are still nothing breaking story for you all morning. in the newsroom, daniel miller, fox25 news. this morning, fox25 is working to get an update on the condition of a teenager stabbed outside of a t station. it happened yesterday at the jackson square shop in jamaica plain. police tell fox25 that the 7-year-old boy was stabbed by another teenager after the pair fought. the second violent incident involving teenagers on the orange line in just a matter of days. last week teenagers got into a gunfight at the forest hill station. riders are concerned about their safety. >> i believe they need to enforce some sort of rule or have some sort of security because people want to get home safely. so sad what happened today to

>>catherine: fox25 took a look at the crime statistics on the mbta web site and showed that the jackson square stop alone, 26 serious crimes this year the same as the total number last year. a 15-year-old is facing charges this morning for bring charges this morning for bringing a loaded gun to school. police searched the teen's backpack after tried to skirt metal directors at boston academy in dorchester. the student tried to run and resisted officers. he is facing charges for the gun, ammunition and resisting arrest. a woman on run from police in more than a decade is due in a new hampshire court room. 35-year-old an dpree i can't erseg was driving a car with a mechanical problem on 93 north. the trooper pulled the car over and discovered that e rseg had a warrant for her arrest. charged in a burglary case from 12 years ago. she will be arraigned as a fugitive from justice and faces extradition back to pennsylvania. two men are facing charges accused of pulling a gun on

computer from a former coach as evidence in wrongdoing. it is now in a forensic lab. we are talking about a former youth coach named james ward youth coach named james wardwell. police have not released much details about the investigation, but the new coach who took over this team has filled news on some of the details. woodwell is accused of -- ward woodwell is accused of -- wardwell is accused of tamper wardwell is accused of tampering with the roster deleting the entire team's name and weight information just before the start of the season. it comes when wardwell was suspended after an on-field physical altercation with other adult. the new coach tells fox25 that police told him that the ip address of the person who deleted the roster did trace back to wardwell's home. now they are looking at that computer. the team's new coach wants ward the team's new coach wants wardwell prosecuted. >> it goes against everything that we should be teaching these young boys.

giving us trouble. a look at those live drive times. up to 36 minutes on the pike from speen street to washington street in newton. 12 minutes after you get past the tolls over to the ted williams tunnel. so once you make it throughout toms tolls, you are fine. 24 minutes on the expressway from the braintree split to the exit to the pike. meteorologist rob eicher joining us now. i know you are tracking a sunnier day out there today, but i saw this tweet, measured winds near 200 miles per hour. that is about hurricane patricia. >>rob: 200 miles per hour. measured by a hurricane hunter airplane out in the eastern pacific. that makes it the strongest ever measured by the hurricane hunters that is expected to make landfall in mexico later on today. for us, again, our story with the hurricane. the cooler weather. despite the sunshine, temperatures are going to kind of struggle. not warm up at all despite those sunny skies. as soon as the sun sets and starts to get cold, down below freezing. next chance of rain coming on sunday by the way. but here is a look at what we

are expecting tonight. winds will gradually shift out of the north and northeast and blow on shore. will be light and a bit of the a onshore flow will keep temperatures warmer for the cape and islands. below 40s. closer to the coastline. now to 37 in fenway. but get a little further inland but get a little further inland. a little away from the coastline. we don't have to go far. norwood around 30 degrees tonight. and there will be some spots that dip below freezing. 47 new bedford. 48 right now in duxbury. 50 the current temperature in bourne. and 43 the current temperature in taunton. we have 52 right now in hull. 49 in lynn. overall these numbers are not much colder than what we started with yesterday morning. the problem is we will not warm up at all so these numbers will hold steady in some spots and dip a little bit middle of the afternoon. the good news is satellite and radar all clear. no showers detract. no fog detracts. a little bit of rain we had yesterday is now out here. that is a cold front. that cold front has ballooned and blown through and cooler

authorities have discovered a cross-border tunnel linking san diego and tijuana. according to u.s. authorities, the passageway stretches 2600 feet making it one of the longest ever built under the u.s. mexico border. it is used to transport drugs across the border. officials say the tunnel had a ventilation system, a lighting system, but the entrance was a bit unusual. >> this tunnel unlike other tunnels does not have staircase and ladders and believed to be using a pulley system of some sort to bring the drugs up from the tunnel. >> authorities say the marijuana seized wednesday had nearly $6 million. the search for the drug kingpin that escaped from a mexican prison now includes efforts from the united states. guzman broke out of a security prison sell through an elaborate cell. authorities are looking for his wife who they believe could be with el chapo. the two own property in los angeles and they have twin

couple of hours and they say they have not yet determined whether or not this shooting was random, but this morning, they are asking for the public's help on this. they are asking anyone who saw this or maybe who no more about this to give them a call right away. live in brighto n, jessica reyes, fox25 morning news. we are following breaking news this morning out of tennessee. one person is dead and two more hurt after a shooting at tennessee state university tampa it happened around midnight. the shooting happened during an argument during a dice game. two students were hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries. the school tells cnn the person killed was not a student. police in saugus are hoping that surveillance video will help them track down a thief that stole thousands of dollars of sports mel bill i can't from a barbershop. the owner of barber masters said this happened late wednesday morning. the man is seen in the video covering his face while taking jerseys and pictures signed by tom brady, jason vari tech and paul pierce.

was heard breaking into a home on taylor road. he was found in a crawlspace. so police sent in a k-9 officer chesh to force -- to convince him rather to surrender. crimes. this morning a pepperell police officer has resigned amid an investigation he used excessive force. the police department was notified of an incident shoving month. it is being investigated by the da's office. right now not clear what herrera was accused of but the police department says it was an isolated incident. a new hampshire police chief is indicted on charges of sexually assaulting a middlesex girl. john laroche is accused of having sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl in the explorer program of the boston police department. it happened when laroche was an officer in that town. the chief has been put on unpaid leave since august. he has pled not guilty.

who wrote sexually explicit letters to former patriot aaron hernandez will face a judge. she is the anonymous tipster that questioned the actions in the odin lloyd murder trial. asked about the claim that the juror lied when asked that hernandez was suspected of killing two men in boston. prosecutors say the woman is not credible. the defense wants the verdict thrown out. new this morning, school officials on the cape are having -- removed a controversial app on ipads used by students. it is called bio ninja. the cape cod time says the parent of the good found video on the app that shows images of adults having sex. the superintendent says she was horrified. officials say the app received a four-plus age rating on the apple store which is supposed to mean no objectional content. new this hour a massachusetts coffee chain has been fined for breaking child labor laws and stealing tips labor laws and stealing tips.

we continue to follow a developing investigation at logan airport this morning. an airline contractor sparking a security scare for taking a selfie. fox 25's daniel miller here to explain how that one picture took an entire airplane out of service. >> an american airlines spokesperson tells fox25 that the contractor took that selfie while standing on the wing of a plane. we broke that story during the fox25 news at 10:00. the airline confirms to us that the contractor is a badged employee for swiss port which is the cargo service for swiss air. american airlines tell fox25 that that worker climbed on to the wing of an american jet inside a hangar and took a picture of himself. the aircraft was taken out of service to be inspected and checked out, but right now american says nothing seems to be damaged. we have reached out to massport and state police this

yesterday, temperatures jumped 20 degrees from the morning through the afternoon. today not so much. a few spots get colder in the middle of the day despite full sunshine. nothing to show you here on the local satellite and radar. no rain to trap it. no fog to track this morning. the showers that we did have yesterday were courtesy of a front. into the atlantic behind a cold front as you might expect. got a little cooler and hence tonight. clear skies for a couple of states and there is our next chance of rain currently over in nebraska. that is the next front. that will get here on sunday morning. that front that brings us that next chance of rain. a little breezy through the first half of the day today but the winds will calm down this afternoon and be almost dead calm by this evening. that is the problem. anytime you have clear skies and calm winds, temperatures plummet as soon as the sun sets plummet as soon as the sun sets. that is what we are expecting and lead to a cool start on the day on saturday and many of us waking up in the 30s.
