a 5-year-old is left alone on a school van for nearly an hour, and the driver is telling fox25 it is just a huge mistake. >> gene: but police are trying to decide if the driver should be charged in this. the driver has an emotional apology. >> reporter: the boy is 5 years old and police in lawrence are looking into this lawrence are looking into this. the bus driver spoke only to fox25. the boy was all alone on the bus when he headed to day care bus when he headed to day care. he was picked up from his house by a private hired bus driver and fell asleep. the driver never double checked to see if everyone got off and a woman passing the bus on prospect street saw the little boy and called 911. the bus driver is a single father of two who said he feels absolutely terrible about the whole thing. >> one mistake. the little boy fell down to
i saw that he went to school. and i went home and and that happened. i feel so sorry about that. >> the little boy was alone for 45 minutes and the bus driver could face child endangerment charges. live in lawrence, jessica reyes, fox25 news. this morning an attorney for the driver for the driver who lost control of a red line train says his client is sick because of all the stress surrounding the incident. morning, david vasquez's lawyer said he missed a disciplinary hearing yesterday because his doctor told him too he got out to secure a switch and he did not set the brake sending the train with no one at the controls. his attorney said my client has a long good record with the mbta driving those trains
them as safely as possible. it is horrible this guy is under an immense amount of stress. he cares deeply about people and he cares deeply for his passengers and the accusations are difficult for him. meanwhile, questions raised how the mbta updated information about that runaway on that. what's going on. >> fox25 obtaining that radio transition between braintree and transit police where braintree police tell the transit police about the incident. >> they sent us a statement and said it is protocol and they learned about a minute later. another big question, why the public wasn't given information until three and a half hours until after the consistent. >> spwuchbt issues we can look at during the investigation is should we have communicated with the broader public in a different way? >> a full report on the investigation is expected out before the next week or two

the state's most wanted list. john monroe was arrested in september on several charges of the alleged rape of a girl under the age of 10. monroe was supposed to wear a gps bracelet and removed it in october and disappeared. his car was later found in hull. brewster police are looking for this man caught on camera robbing a store. police were called to the brewster farms market on sunday around 7:00. the man bought something and when the clerk opened a door he pulled out a handgun. the suspect is accused of reaching in, taking cash and taking off. a brother and sister who died in a worcester fire were very close. 85-year-old grace and her brother nicholas died at a fire in their burncoat street home. fox25 was there as investigators returned to the scene. both siblings had a hard time walking. neighbors said it seemed like they stayed with each other until the very end.
a new hampshire man accused of trying to burn his house down told a judge he has been suicidal. police say justin cain dumped gasoline on the back porch of his mother's home after an argument. prosecutors want a high bail saying cain is a marine veteran that suffers from ptsd and poses a danger to the community. a judge set his bail at $50,000. police are reviewing new information of a deadly hit-and-run in quincy, a 78-year-old woman was killed while crossing the parkway on december 3. police now say a man in his 50s was the driver of the car that hit her. we are told the vehicle was a black station wagon, possibly a volvo. it had front end damage. officers also say the driver got out of the vehicle after the crash, looked at the victim, then drove off. this morning an investigation is under way in the death of a woman hit by a commuter rail train in ashland commuter rail train in
