and nashua and it is a lot of my cooler spots right now where we have got the fog form be. so through 9:00 a.m. we continue with temperature readings here in the 40s, we bust into the lower 50s by lunchtime today, fog is out, we will see a little bit of partial sun before we cloud over this afternoon and between four and seven we see some very light and patchy showers forming. that's not the heaviest, by the way, the heaviest is overunited, so this afternoon 52 to 56 after morning fog we got increasing clouds this afternoon and approaching rain. i will show you how long it stays wet before it turns really i want to say hot for tomorrow and julie grauert standing by with live drive time traffic. julie, what do you have? >> julie: waiting for the accident to clear northbound on the expressway, right on the shoulder at granite avenue. overall the volume this morning very light and reasonable, i think most of us sleeping in and getting ready to head out and do the last of the christmas shopping.

take look at route 1 as you approach lynn fells parkway and usually jampacked by now. 14 minutes on route 1 from 128 to the tobin, 23 minutes on the expressway from the braintree split to the pike, 24 minutes on 93 south from 495 to the leverett connector. catherine and gene, back to you. >> catherine: new this morning a weymouth woman will answer to charges after leading police on chase through the south shore. it all started when police say she threw awe bottle at a man in gas station in cohasset. officers chased her into three towns until she crashed at mcgrath and quincy. this is picture. police are charging cherylann at district court. >> gene: this guy stole a laser light display. thieves have been targeting the new decorations all over the country. fox25 jessica reyes live in dorchester this morning where

down these thieves. jess, good morning. >> jessica: good morning, gene these are some of the most popular christmas decorations this year. they are pretty new so they have been selling out the of stores and the man that lives in this house here in dorchester, he said yesterday morning he walked out to go to workaround 5:00 a.m. and found out his lights had been stolen. these lights are set up as a projector and shows lights all over the house and victim here in dorchester, he e-mailed us this surveillance video of the stuff and you can see someone trying to grab one of the projector boxes. many of the boxes said they have been stole sold out of stores for week now as they are relatively new and thefts have been happening all over the country. couple weeks ago in lynn, another man reported his lights had been stolen as well. this was in west lynn and you could see the surveillance video of another man stealing those lights. lynn police put out this video in order to try to track the person down. now, police here in lynn and in dorchester, they are asking anyone who knows more about this

up at next hour at 8:00, we are hearing from the victims in dorchester. for now live here in dorchester, i'm jessica reyes, fox25 news. >> gene: new at 7:00 devastating fire destroys a home in milton, new hampshire. family of four was able to get out safely last night, but they lost everything two days before christmas. find officials posted the photos on facebook last night around 11:00. the two children are in kindergarten. they are twins, girl and boy. milton public safety association collecting donations for the family. you could find more information on the milton fire department's facebook page. >> catherine: lakeville mother facing charges this morning that children. they found disturbing items inside her rental car. newsroom with a look at the evidence. daniel? >> daniel: police uncovered a box of wine and hose in the car that wouldn't be concerning except that officers had uncovered a suicide note left in the woman's other vehicle. mcgrath abandoned her original

she took off with her kids in the rental car. prosecutors say mcgrath also had a troubling conversation with on sunday. >> she did not want to drop off the kids back that they might as well drive into traffic. next time she -- also stated next time she had the kids there would be a amber alert. >> daniel: mcgrath and the charges. he has sole custody and she will be back in court in january. in the newsroom i'm daniel miller, fox25 news. >> gene: 7:05 and this morning a friend of marathon bomber dzhokhar tsamaev is free from the first time in 17 months. stephen silva walked out of court shortly after being sentenced to time served on drugs and weapons charges. silva is the man that loaned dzhokhar the handgun which was used to kill m.i.t. police officer sean collier days after the 2013 terror attack. he was a key witness for the prosecution during dzhokhar's

after set free silva apologized to collier's family. >> i definitely would like to give my deepest condolences to the collier family. i'm upset the firearm killed him i have no idea what was it was for. >> gene: prosecutors did recommend a reduced sentence because silva testified against dzhokhar and he will remain on probation for three years. >> catherine: m.i.t. looking for scholarship looking for candidates in sean collier's name sending one recruit through the scholarship. it is the third year and first two recruits were in the top of their class. we posted a lot more information about the scholarship on our website at myfoxboston.com. >> gene: police catch a mom and her daughter stealing from a local store on the same day the mother was arraigned for a different shoplifting case. police say 33 adelaida jordan and her 18-year-old daughter shaq from kohl's monday.

shoplifting yesterday. eight-year-old that was with them was released to family members. >> catherine: chipolte where over 100 people got sick could open soon. 140 people got sick including many b.c. students. the boston business journal reports all staff have been tested for norovirus and manager was let go for not sending a sick worker home. the restaurant will open if passes next inspection. >> gene: new this morning a member of the opposition group that helped with the boston olympics is working for uber. kelly gossett will take the role for northeast policy manager for the company. this comes as lawmakers across the company try to regulate for uber and lyft. gene: two seaport bars are in jeopardy. whiskey priest and atlantic beer garden will be demolished to make way for the 22-story tower. the condo was proposed by the same company that owns the two bars. the company hopes to get the new

no word yet if the bars will reopen in different locations. >> catherine: cape air stepping up services after island airline shut down earlier these month. the airline will begin round trip freight services for barnstable and and an conduct. cape air added 24 additional flights between hyannis and nantucket last week before it shut down island airlines flew most of the market. catherine: faa and appeals court have shut down a boston start-up that aimed to create airplane ride-sharing service. flytenow would connect with private pilots that have seats left on the planes similar to uber and lyft. they shut down the start-up because the pilots need a commercial license. >> gene: eight minutes after 7:00 and family in new hampshire overwhelmed by the out pouring of support they have seen in resent days. 15-year-old maura has a rare genetic disorder and she uses a wheelchair and mother pam couldn't lift her in in and outs of old van.

>> catherine: a new poll shows voters would be more proud than embarrassed. 35% said they would be embarrassed if clinton were president, 33% of voters said they would be proud. 29% said they didn't care. the numbers are less flattering for the current republican front-runner. same survey found 50% of voters were embarrassed if donald trump were elected president and 23 said they would be proud and 24 said said they didn't care. tells fox25 people keep stealing donald trump for president signs from his front yard. surveillance video recorded the latest theft. the homeowner says the person in the video is teenage son of one of the neighbors. trump supporter says this is the thirteenth sign to disappear this year and he may press charges. >> want people to know this is not okay. you have the right to your opinion and it matters. >> fox25 contacted the family of the teen accused of stealing the

about it. police say no charges have been filed and they are still investigating. >> gene: busy time for travelers and after several deadly terror attacks security on the forefront of many folks minds and suspect 100 million americans to travel over the next week and a half and keeping close eye on potential threats. president obama says every americans safe. >> you got dedicated patriots working around the clock all across the country to protect us all. >> president also says there's no information about any specific or credible threats against the country right now. >> catherine: police in texas are searching for thieves that trampled over a one-year-old boy as they ran away with stolen clothing. it is all on surveillance video. take a look the little boy is playing under the clothing rack there and seconds later the thieves trample him and he goes tumbling as he runs off. the boy's father says he has no regard for his son.

>> shiri: we have a california forecast for christmas eve and christmas and temperatures will rival, if not beat the high temperatures expected in l.a., so it is going to be unseasonably warm for christmas but fog that we are watch think this morning until 10:00 in the burbs and not going to fade. in between southern new hampshire and coming up from the south end of the city, rain back this evening and mostly dry and really warm forecast for tomorrow. 46 is current temperature in the city itself, visibility just fine, like i said, south shore in particular around the cape, not looking good with foggy situation and in boston we got temperatures that will crack the lower 50s this afternoon, we will start out with partly to mostly sunny skies and we will see a little bit of support before the clouds take over, 5:00 p.m. we will pull back in the rain but this rain will be heavy at first, at first and did

overnight hours, but this is the warm front moving toward us and along the warm front we get the showers and also the warm front that will usher in temperatures that are 20 to even 30 above average for tomorrow, tomorrow night, even as we look forward to christmas forecast, temperatures 20 above average. so future cast here 10:00 this morning the fog will be gone, you will see that there are quite a few clouds out there, luckily won't be totally overcast by lunchtime today and out at 4:00 p.m. and between four and seven this is really the timeframe we see light and patchy showers come back into play but it is not until after 10:00 this evening that i will start pulling in more of the downpours. now, let's take a look at tomorrow morning. tomorrow morning is doing okay, i know a lot of you have the day off. for those of you that don't be be on the road early tomorrow morning, by 7:00 a.m. all i have are one or two sprinkles left and dry out and be more fog on

cooler spots come out of northeastern massachusetts, southern new hampshire today with about 50 in ipswich and essex, 50 in amesbury and 53 in reading and you can see hot spots where you see green shading coming out of western massachusetts, these are warmer locations, so 58 in taunton, 56 in carver, 55 in brockton, worcester land 51 and we got 49 in portsmouth, new hampshire and 53 in hyannis. tonight though temperatures staying nearly steady in the upper 40s to about 50 and involve the rain i was talking about and rain start fizzling out around 4:00 in the morning and tomorrow only slide risk of shower, 68 boston, 69 in framingham and fitchburg, 70 in manchester, new hampshire norwood and even 71 in lawrence. here is 7-day forecast with weekend always in view, of course, featuring christmas as well and christmas you will wake up to 50 , high of 60 with

if you're coming in from the south shore, parts of the north shore, beverly quarter mile visibility, under a mile in bedford and lawrence and up into southern new hampshire you have to go to concord to find the real thick stuff or even over to keene but fog developing on the map this morning. maybe not in major, major cities here but fog on the map and going to be with us through 10:00 this morning, by noon 52 with increasing clouds, 55 at 3:00 p.m., it is going to be mild and cloudy and showers are back at 7:00 this evening, so timeline on how long it stays wet before it turns toasty coming up but back over to julie for a check on the roads. julie, what do we have? >> julie: this map right now 7:30, thick of the morning commute and things moving along so nicely, the volume is light, route 193 south looking good, pike wide open from hopkinton to framingham and then as you make your way into brighton, a a lot of space in between the cars.

from the braintree split to the pike. 23 minutes on 128 southbound from route 1 in peabody to the weston tolls. gene and catherine, back to you. >> gene: winthrop man under arrest impersonate a massport worker and one thing about the scheme did not add up. daniel miller live in the newsroom with more on the arrest. >> daniel: it didn't add up. people that live in elderly complex thought he was suspicious but only entering one apartment stating he worked for the state agency. he told people inside the complex he worked for massport and needed to check the window. they say that is not uncommon since he lives near logan airport but he didn't have an i.d. she let the man inside her home. he told her she was looking for air pockets. she got suspicious when he left so she had a maintenance worker

reduced sentence because silva testified against dzhokhar. >> gene: we learn new details about a woman after kidnapping her kids. they found a hose and wine in her rental car. she rented the car after abandoning the suv in swansea and leaving behind a suicide note. she also had a troubling conversation with her sister before disappearing with her kids on sunday. >> that she did not want to drop off the kids, she might as well drive into traffic. next time -- also stated next time she had the kids there would be an amber alert. >> gene: her and the father have history of domestic assault charges. he has full custody of the children and she will be back in court in january. >> catherine: double-murder trial of aaron hernandez is delayed once again. the judge now says the case will not start next month as planned. hernandez and attorneys were in court yesterday.

for a ruling from the supreme judicial court about evidence and wants the evidence of alexander bradley kept out of trial. bradley claims hernandez shot him in florida nearly three years ago. >> if the court rules alleged shooting of mr. bradley is essentially off the table for the murder trial. >> catherine: hernandez is accused of killing daniel applegate and safiro furtado outside a boston nightclub and aaron hernandez is already serving a life sentence for murder in 2013. >> gene: according to herald judge will allow colleen ritzer family and friends to wear pink at the sentencing next month. >> gene: police say massive

york was found in massachusetts. police say the stash was in a rental car with massachusetts plates, two suspects, both of arrested. police say the stash was worth about $3 million. gene: emergency drug to help people overdosing on heroin now available over-the-counter in new hampshire. health officials partnered with rite aid to offer narcan in a pharmacy across the state and drug has been used to save more than 3,000 people from overdoses this year. addiction specialists said immediate action to narcan is key. >> thank god they are listening, thank god they are listening. lives will be saved. >> gene: they cost 45 to $50 without insurance. >> catherine: study of concussion and brain injuries will continue. study of brains from professional athletes will be funded by grant by national
