little bit and get through a little fog that i traveled through this morning. she is in the fox25 stormtracker weather center with towns being impacted right now. >> reporter: and as expected we are seeing more fog popping this hour than last hour. and my word of warning is this, that it will continue to get worse by 6 a.m. by 7 a.m. expecting improvements. dense fog in beverly and bedford not looking much better in lawrence and orange. dense fog in place and fog from norwood down to new be probably will slow you down because it is dense fog and many spots out here. the last day where we have the sun going down at 8:01 during the 8 p.m. hour. after that we are losing daylight fast and we will break that down coming up. early morning temperatures 50s and 60s and a special start and you can see that hour-by-hour forecast in boston has us staying kind of mild here through the morning hours. and 7 a.m., 65 degrees.

>> elizabeth: it may have happened when a dozen police officers were out interacting with the community. catherine parrotta is live with the information we collected overnight. catherine? >>reporter: there is where one of the armed robberies is reported to have happened. we are talking about an armed robbery. the suspect had a knife in these instances. still in the process of collecting information and here is what we know about this to far. the first calls started coming in of an armed robbery and the location of that was 129 liquors on salem police are on the keen with dogs trying to find the suspect. a call short time later of a similar robbery in town. that one was a convenient store and the two locations are three miles apart. according to the lowell sun, no one was hurt and one of the clerks had to go to the hospital because she was shaken up. in both cases the suspect was a white man with a gray sweatshirt and a large knife. this all happened as the community was participating in national night out which is when a lot people are out and about in the community.

a salem man is behind bars this morning after admitting to strangling his wife. he in court yesterday morning and he walked into the station and told him that he killed his wife carmela. he also learned -- we also learned that he has a long history of violence. in 1994 he was charged with domestic assault and battery after his wife said he tried to kill her. last year she filed for divorce and in may she filed for a restraining order. >> this is not his behavior at extend, like at all. i honestly, like, complete shock. everybody is in complete shock. this is not normal behavior for him at all. police say that he changed his facebook page status to widower before he turned himself in. the owner of a cab company facing tax fraud charges and could face two years in prison. edward tugenen and in court. he agreed to pay $2 million in fines and penalties.

a woman is nursing some serious injuries after being attacked by two dogs while she was out for a walk. fox25 jessica reyes is in salem, and jess, witnesses say those dogs charged at her for no apparent reason. >> right, elizabeth. the investigation is far from over. it was just a vicious and the woman was rushed to the hospital. cell phone video. and neighbors shared this video with our crews last night and you can see the victim laying on the ground with the neighbor holding her. this all happened around 7:3, and his taking her lab for a walk on overstreet when those two pit bulls charged at them. >> i heard the dogs getting -- getting the lady and i ran down and she was on the ground and her hand was all ripped open.

>> reporter: other neighbors told our crews that one of the pit bulls attacked the lab while the other attacked the owner. police in salem did tell our crews here that the woman was rushed to the hospital, but as of this morning, no charges have been filed against the owner of those two pit bulls. we will follow this all morning and keep you posted throughout the morning here on fox25 morning news. for now live in salem, jessica reyes, fox25 morning news. 5:16. an update now on the health of a massachusetts state senator. we learned that senator ken middlesex county had a brain tumor removed and resting comfortly. donnelly was rushed to mass general and overwhelmed with the love and support that they have received. a fox25 investigation looks at how long it takes your fire department to respond to a fire. a lot of us don't think of response times until we need help, and every second counts. >> it can be the difference between a fatal fire and -- and, you know, a rescue and

sunshine and 80s are coming back to town. meteorologist shiri spear says no need for the umbrella today. in the storm tracker weather center. speedy warm-up, shiri. >> pretty quick warm-up gene and elizabeth. temperatures starting out in the 50s and my coolest spot where we are seeing the worst fog. norwood down to 51 degrees. how about that for a nice crisp start to the day. 58 in lawrence and portsmouth, new hampshire. 59 in worcester. 63 in and in nantucket. so visibility right now not a problem over the cape and islands. look at that, taunton down to a mile and three quarters. under a mile in norwood and in bedford and lawrence. dense fog in beverly even though boston not reporting fog. we take look at the city just a moment ago and the clouds are settling over the city and half-mile visibility in keene. quarter mile in orange. your day planner involves patchy fog lasting until 7:00 this morning.

it happened when police were taking part in a community outreach event. in both cases the suspect wore a gray hoodie and carried a large hunting knife. presidential candidate donald trump is facing criticism from within his own party. in an interview with the"washington post,", he refused to endorse paul ryan and john mccain. and another new hampshire senator kelly ayotte slammed and saying he is more popular in her state than she is. gardner democrat filed a bill on monday that would bar sex offenders from playing augmented reality games including pokemon go. he says preventing predators from using that app will safeguard others who play. local drug ring accused of hiding cocaine, heroin and in

very noticeable from the outside. it is not a storefront. s inside the actual building and no great signage that might tell you what might be inside. this location is run by patriot care and fox25 did, in fact, get an early look inside for you. the 7th dins pencery in the commonwealth and -- the 7th dispensary in the commonwealth and patients purchased marijuana in the month of june in the state. patriot care will medical marijuana to patients who cannot make it out to the milk street location as i mentioned. boston police commissioner bill evans spoke with fox25 about some the security concerns that might cause. >> i don't have any problems with medical marijuana as long as it is for the right reasons. we are watching to make sure -- that they are getting there safely and if a problem develops, we will work with the company.

if you are just joining us, up to the minute on all of our top stories. . >> gene: two dogs are under investigation for attacking a woman out for walk. and the hunt is on for the hunt for a man with a knife that may have robbed two stores. catherine parrotta is live in billerica. catherine? >> reporter: one of the locations here, 129 liquors and collecting informing about exactly what happened and here is what we know so far. around 9:00 for reported armed robbery and again at that location 129 liquors located on salem road in billerica. police were on the scene with dogs trying to find the suspect and also a call about a similar robbery happening at another business in town, a convenience store on boston road. two locations are about three miles apart. and in both cases, the suspect was described as a white man in a gray sweatshirt with a large knife. the timing of all of this was somewhat interesting.

into this store. two employees escaped into a back office as customers hit the floor. one of the robbers points a shotgun at the head of the man and fire several shots into the office trying to get the door open. he fails and the men run out of the store. no one was. police in atlanta trying to find out who killed a pair of high school seniors behind a supermarket. a delivery driver found the bodies of the 17-year-olds. their cars were still at the scene. investigators think the victims arrived at the store between 2:00 and 3 a.m. police shot and killed a woman in baltimore who held police at bay for hours and shared videos of the standoff on instagram. what are they trying to do? >> they are trying to kill us. >> elizabeth: video she uploaded of her 5-year-old son during that standoff in
