up slowly and along with the police officers at least 11 protest were treated for minor injuries. smoke bombs as police try to get handle in the crowd. these protests started to get out of hand around 9:00 last night as people surrounding police cars and jumping on top in the area had to least the scene because people were rocking news van back and forth. for a little more than an hour this morning, busy highway interstate 85 was shut down because group started looting trucks and setting items on fire. the highway reopened just after three. the protest sparked with shooting death of 43-year-old keith scott. police were searching for a suspect when they came scott's

he got out of the car a second time they opened fire. scott's family says he didn't have a gun but was holding a book. police say scott wasn't the man they were searching for and the officer shot him and now on paid leave. the community deserve answers and promising a full investigation. in the newsroom, sara underwood, fox25 news. >> daniel: two-year-old boy is in the hospital after a car hit him right outside his home fox25 jessica reyes is live outside the home where several witnesses, jess, spotted the boy before the crash. just spoke with neighbor that knew the child. >> jessica: a really sweet kid and everybody in the neighborhood loves him, only two years old and earlier this morning spoke with grandpa and still not doing great, still at mass general, but much better than he was last night. this was quite a scene here last night. you could see in the street here on market street the orange mark

aaa says it is a four, six and eight cylinder to run on lower octane fuel and drove them on so-called treadmill for cars using premium gasoline. aaa says premium gas did not increase horse power or fuel economy and didn't keep the engines cleaner or reduce emissions either. >> i see what goes on in engines and big difference between the use of gases. >> michael: with the study claiming american drivers wasted more than $2 billion in the last year using premium gas in cars meant for regular. >> as soon as you put the accelerator down halfway that's when you would get the difference. is it waste of money? some people say it is. some people say it is not. >> michael: brendan king who owns the car needing premium says he would go with whatever aaa recommends.

framingham, up to lawrence and over to fitchburg, 83 do for manchester, new hampshire, worcester 79? and we got temperatures that will make it into the upper 70s or lower 80s, even across the cape with cloud cover south of the pike. lows tonight will fall back into the 50s, about 63 in boston, but can see the burbs a little cooler. this is going to be cooler than what you found out there this morning. waking up tomorrow to those kind of temperatures, i do think long sleeve layer is good idea, probably a lig headed into work for commute and bus stop. tomorrow's high temperatures make sure you have short sleeves underneath, layering kind of day with low and mid-80s back tomorrow with tons of sunshine. so future cast here today is going to highlight some of those early morning clouds as we hit the afternoon hours you can see that we are looking mostly

>> daniel: 12 officers were injured in clashes. those clashes began after another deadly officer involved shooting. tv crews capturing smoke bombs as police try to get handle on crowd. these protests started to get out of hand around 9:00 last night. even at one point major highway, i-85, shut down for a couple of hours after people looted from semi trucks and set items inside those trucks on fire. protest broke out after police keith scott. officers were searching for a suspect when they came across scott. they say he had a gun and after he got out of his car second time they opened fire. police now say scott was not the man they were looking for. scott's family insist he did not have it and instead they say he was holding a book. investigators say they did find a gun on the scene. police officer who shot scott is on administrative leave this

reports there were at least five arrests overnight. the shooting in charlotte comes right after another shooting of an unarmed black man in tulsa, oklahoma. this morning lawyers for the officer who pulled the trigger claimed terence crutcher kept touching his pocket and reaching through the window of his truck. you can't tell if that happened based on video. police released. police also claim they found pcp in the man's car but toxicology reports are not back yet. crutch's truck had broken down on the when police arrived he put his hands up on the truck and walked back to his vehicle. police first used stun gun and then shot and killed him. >> julie: police officer on ground detaining a man and police department is coming to the officer's defense saying he did the right thing. fox25 stephanie coueignoux is live in boston this morning with department's reasoning and why this case may not be over.

investigated the incident and said that the officer did follow proper procedure with what they are calling limited information at the time. however, the man's attorney not happy with this decision saying that client was actually injured during this incident and he also hinted they may pursue this even further. this is the cell phone video showing part of what happened back on may 24th in the back bay. off-duty officer holding man in purple shirt o started when he hitman's window and placed him under arrest for breaking a window which is a felony offense. >> barrett does not know what mr. gurren is holding so trying to maintain control of him. >> followed proper procedure and says that's not what they were

ocean. seth mazzaglia is appealing and sexual history may be admitted during an appeal even though it is not allowed during trial. the attorney general's office and marriott family are appealing that new rule. >> daniel: this morning third man will be charged in murder of teenager in everett. roberto remus now accused of luring 19 omar reyes in home in january. he was shot in the head under a local bridge. the 213 suspec affiliated with the ms13 gang. police in connecticut are looking into what caused the death of man who police shot -- who police shot at foxwood's resort. police say they confronted the victim in the parking garage before noon yesterday and started shooting when he pulled out weapon man then fell four stories from the garage. investigators say they do not know if the man died from the gunshots or the fall. no other injuries have been recorded in the incident. >> julie: now 9:36.

infant babies. police officer was working detail of mall at rockingham park on monday when he found bailey and amber in the parking lot. one of them was holding baby overhead and mother charged with child endangerment. police say the babies are now in the care of grandparents. julie: twin boys recovering at rhode island hospital today after a mother threw them out a window. neighbors say they saw bonita barber thrown out of first floor window and on to when they arrived it appeared the mother was intoxicated. barber was held in providence district court monday on charges of disorderly conduct. police are reviewing video of the ind captured by neighbors. >> daniel: boston public library has special boxes at each location in the city to hold needles in and around the building. they are also offering training to staff members to help them recognize the signs of overdose. library official tell us they usually find one needle a week
