more. good morning. >> temperature right now finally starting to climb in worcester back into the 60s at 60? for the first time this morning. 61 in fitchburg now. these locations all dry. in fact, the dry weather getting into boston, up to the sea coast and north shore as well, exception being cape ann across the south shore, cape and southcoast, still got showers to go but by noon time you too looking whole lot better. so in worcester today we got upper 60s coming your way. got partly sunny skies later on hour-by-hour forecast in boston 11:00 a.m. has you at 65?, 1:00 p.m. 69, head into the lower 70s and should see breaks in the clouds there as well. for cape cod today a little bit tricky because we have breezy conditions today, plus we got showers hanging on a little bit longer so until about lunchtime today and then once we get into the overnight hours the risk for showers will come right back into play but overall 70 to 74 for highs today after this morning rain we turn partly cloudy this afternoon and i will

you how short lived they will be coming up. julie grauert now coming up with live drive time traffic. it has been a busy morning. >> it has. slow morning for people on the roads because of weather. 128 southbound 93 and through the lexington area head past route 3 and town to route 2 and waltham area. on the pike things are concentrated to right around the weston tolls and then in the allston-brighton area and you can see things are backed up on the zakim right now which is 93 south. he minutes route 1 from 128 to the tobin. 57 minutes on 93 south still triple digits on 128 southbound an hour and 40 minutes from route 1 in peabody to the weston tolls. >> daniel: we are following breaking news out of boston receipt now. we are waiting on the arrival of naithan carman new england man lost at sea on life raft. warman went out fishing with his

missing. >> julie: we will show you his arrival as soon as it happens. following the story all morning and joins us live with questions surrounding it. michael? >> michael: julie and daniel, just got update from the coast guard on scene at coast guard station in boston telling our crew that now nathan carman expected is disembark at 9:30. so we will see him this hour according to the coast guard but the questions that the as answered potentially for a short time after that. nathan carman and mother linda went out on fish be trip, and supposed to be overnight and head out to block island rhode island but ended up sinking in their boat called

originally from connecticut told the coast guard. now as far as why that boat, small metal boat ended up taking up water and why nathan was able to get into the lie boat with life jacket food and water and that's where the mystery lies at this points and those are questions that the coast guard wants answered and julie and daniel another interest as we go back to live pictures of the coast guard seen here in question is when the freighter -- when the freight ship ended up picking up nathan finding him two days after the coast guard called off search freighter found him sunday afternoon and from where nathan

we are talking about here, 267 center street, you could see pretty quiet around here, also see how large the apartment building is and police say somewhere inside the building man was shot examine killed overnight. here is what we know about this and happened before 1:00 this morning. again, inside the building here at 267 center street. these are mildred c hailey apartments and police called her for reports of shots fired and when they arrived they found man in his 40s shot several but didn't survive. boston police say they are still actively investigating this and canvassing the area and checking camera for any video related to this incident at last check and in terms of this area here, jackson square "t" stop on the next corner overand perhaps police might be able to get over to the "t" station as part of the investigation. again, i have reached out to police several times, haven't been able to get response. the investigation is ongoing though. for now live here in jamaica

news. >> following more breaking news this is out of new york and massive explosion at house in the bronx. at least four police officers and one firefighter have been hurt. multiple reports say the building was the site of drug lab. first responders arrived at house before 6:30 and gas leak and building exploded a short time later. no word if anyone was inside at the time and we have no word on the extent of the those first responders. >> been all over the place and you decided to stay home and that's okay. >> donald criticized me for preparing for this debate and yes, i did and you know what else i prepared for, i prepared to be president. >> experience during last night's historic debate while

maybe prevent thing getting worse when we get the weekly update here on thursday. quarter to half inch of rain expected through the morning hours and that's basically on track with what i have seen. so far now the rain winding down in boston and end up in lower end of the range but we did make it and drizzle on and off tomorrow and most of the week pattern break until we hit tuesday or monday of next week so going to take almost a week to get a nice sunny day back in town. so right now we are stuck with lingering clouds, s boston right now traveling down toward the cape and islands and that's going to last until about noon time here so you see it in future cast kind of fading off showers by noon time and expecting improvements here. by noon you should see even more thin spots in the clouds. as we travel through the afternoon do count on some partly sunny skies in boston, even brighter for the north shore, merrimack valley, central mass, southern new hampshire, a little more cloud cover over southeastern mass but any way

afternoon improvements here and take you out to lawrence. haven't visited there yet this morning. 61? looking mostly cloudy, there are still clouds out there, folks. well stick with mostly cloudy skies lump time and urn it brighter in the afternoon and cloud cover a little overdone there and see temperaturewise we are at about 65? at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. knocking on door of 70, make it into the lower, even mid-70s in spots like lawrence today. i tend to think that lawrence, fitchburg, m even framingham will run a little bit brighter today and you actually have the hope of maybe getting into the middle 70s. a little cooler at higher elevations, worcester upper 60s, 70 boston to ipswich and 71 in plymouth and 69? in hyannis today. tonight it is 50s, also some pockets of drizzle forming and find that out there for the morning commute and for much of the day tomorrow. it is not going to be necessarily a steady all day drizzle but all day we got the risk for drizzle and keep your

tomorrow it is going to be a little cooler as well, just getting to about 60?. this is your wednesday. this is your thursday. basically squeezed in between the two systems and what it causes is these winds to come in from the northeast, persistent northeast winds. so picks up moisture over the ocean and pulls in the clouds. pulls in the fog, pulls in the drizzle and because this system is so slow to shift and to move, that's why we get stuck for several days with the same forecast. breaks in the clouds this afternoon, but low to mid-60s for your wednesday, thursday, friday, all the way to saturday with some time of drizzle. sunday we get some steadier rain at 68? and by monday i'm hopefully the pattern will be shifting. 70 but we still have a little bit of cloud cover left. probably not until the middle of next week that we really truly brighten up. back to you guys.

morning. >> michael: getting back to the shore to dry land since september 17th. now, preliminarily nathan has told the coast guard that his boat, small metal boat called the chickenpox, did start taking on water and then sank the next day. the coast guard searched for a week calling off the search on friday and it was two days later that that passing miles off the coast of martha's vineyard in life raft. again, sunday afternoon two days after the coast guard search had been called off. sadly his mother, linda, is presumed dead. lost at sea. a lot of questions are remaining right now. a lot of questions this morning about what exactly happened to her. nathan was found according to the coast guard in a life raft with food with a life preserver

now, initially the coast guard says nathan told him that when he was getting the lifeboat ready, inflatable life raft ready, he could not find his mother. obviously there will be follow-up questions about that very fact as we continue to take a look at these live pictures here. photographer getting in place in order to see nathan carman, 22-year-old connecticut native disembark. looking through the window now to conclusions who exactly we are seeing but based on earlier pictures that very well likely could be him. we will continue to look at live pictures. again, a lot of questions this morning also because initially linda, nathan's mother, told her friend she would be going out fishing off of rhode island, block island, rhode island. then nathan told the coast guard

daniel: man accused of shooting and killing five people at washington state mall is held on $200 million bail. arcan is a teen was reasoned yesterday on premeditated first-degree murder charges. police say he confessed to shooting the victims at macy's over the weekend and still trying to figure out motive and is a teen's parents say he struggled with mental health issue. he is expected back in court later next month scott missing information. first 30 seconds has no awedet on of movie and it has to be activated in order to record sound and did not activacation time camera until shots fired violating the policy. investigators say they shot scott last week after refusing to put down gun. neither released showed if he
