meteorologist jason brewer in for shiri spear this morning. jason is in the fox25 storm tracker weather center with a look at when the rain can move in. >> jason: a gloomy start to the morning, julie, daniel, good morning. temperatures in the upper 50s and will not budge too much today due to this onshore wind that comes back. the clouds, the spotty drizzle. i don't see anything on the radar right now and very isolated between 6 and 9 a.m., potential. increasing afternoon son. that is the good news. we will see a cloudy day all day. breaks of that and temperatures running 0 to 65 degrees in the cape and islands. lower 60s and even near 60 in worcester. then there is this. hurricane matthew. still a cat 4. getting ready to move across the eastern and -- the western tip of haiti rather. a full update on matthew in just a few minutes. looking at your roads, things are nice and quiet as

route 1 and 93 south moving along fine. pike is clear. overnight construction work will wrap up by 5 a.m. 24 minutes on the pike eastbound from 495 to mass avenue. nine minutes on the expressway. 20 minutes on 93 south and 495 and the leverett connector. we do begin with breaking news this morning. a large water main break is creating problems in parts of charlestown. it happened early this morning on rutherford avenue in the area of washington street. our flowing in the tunnel from rutherford ave to 199. they have shut down part of the bridge. the water has been turned off by the city and crews are working to fix the problem. 4:02. colleges across new england are dealing with a series of threatening social media posts about clowns. last night students at north merrimack college were told to shelter in place after a hoax tweet mentioned a person dressed as a clown was seen with a weapon on campus.

police searched the area and nothing sir us. >>tious come on. >> a cop came in and everybody got evacuated. we got texts, e-mails, calls from campus. >> students across new england are being terrified by one or two people on social media. it is shameful. >> daniel: similar threats across the nation and entire country and many linked to a twitter account that we are not naming. a post that towns in our area. none. tlits have been verified. merrimack will reach out to twitter to see if they can stop the threats. more widespread the clown hysteria has become. drivers say they spotted a man in a clown mask standing in the road and running at cars. in maryland, class were cancelled in one school yesterday over creepy clown threats. other schools around the washington d.c. area are ramping up security today. in virginia, a 13-year-old girl is facing charges accused

kill her teacher. in philadelphia, a 13-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy are facing cyber harassment charges for their posts about clowns and were reported last week. it people have been arrested in relation to clown hysteria in south carolina. it is now 4:04. hurricane matthew continues to pound the caribbean as many in the u.s. now prepare for the storms's possible impact. cnn report three peopl islands of the caribbean. the worst is not over yet for those kuvlingts. haiti is expected to get the worse of the storm over the next several hours. matthew expected to bring destructive waves between 15 and 25 feet and some spots could see up to 40 inches of rain. emergency workers are worried about flashfloods and mudslides in haiti since so many are living intense because of the mass -- in tents because of the massive earthquake six years ago.

clinton is leading donald trump by 5 points. 47% of likely voters favor clinton in the election with only 42% saying they would prefer to see trump as president. libertarian gary johnson took third place in the poll at 7% and jill stein have 2% of voter support. clinton leads in a poll of independent voters. the controversies keep come for presidential nominee donald trump. the new york attorney general asked for them to stop collecting donations in the times" released pages from his 1995 tax returns showing he lost nearly $1 billion in a year. experts say that could have allowed him to legally avoid paying incomes tack for almost two decades. trump has not denied the claims and has continued on debate them with democratic nominee hillary clinton. >> while millions of american families including mine and yours, were working hard, paying our fair share, it seems he was contributing nothing to our nation.

. landscaper standing near his truck is hit and killed by a car in melrose. this is the scene on howard street. you can see the car flipped over and victim's truck is destroyed. he was moving equipment into a trailer when he was hit. a woman and her two young children were trapped upside down in the car. neighbors rushed out to help them after the crash. >> three young kids, and you know, seeing three young kids upside down in a car and having to little close to home. >> julie: the car also collided with a suv. the driver of that car wasn't hurt. no charges have been filed and the name the landscaper have not been released. a mom in salem, new hampshire is out on bail. she let her 7-year-old start her car that then rolled over on to her daughter. amy lynn bowen faces child endangerment charges. the 7-year-old shifted the car in reverse and rolled over her 2-year-old sister. the ed to libingz survived but

the woman back in court next month. a everett man is due back in court saying he has no memory of hitting a police officer outside of gillette stadium. he faces several charges including assault and battery and racing a motor vehicle. captain christopher wilcox was hit working detail for the patriots game. perez-rodriguez was speeding on his motorcycle into oncoming traffic. rodriguez judge yesterday that the crash was not intentional. captain wilcox has a skull fracture and broken nose and could be released as soon as today. perez rodriguez is being held on $10,000 bail. 4:15. a man who allegedly killed a florida couple and tried to bite off one their faces has been charged with murder. 19-year-old austin harouff was arrested in august when they found him biting off one of the stabbing victim's faces. he is charged with the

harwich at 57. nantucket about 6. add on 5 degrees to these numbers and those will be your afternoon highs. in worcester county, you are looking at upper 50s and lower 60s. cooler up top in the higher hills and a little warmer down below. afternoon highs around dedham and boston and woburn in the lower 60s today which is a little bit below normal. a cloudy start, but some increasing sun. i don't think we break into full sun wall to wal lower 60s in middle brother today. cape cod the island. man in ubingt you are at 60 right now -- nantucket you are at 60 right now. and not a whole lot of movement and a little patchy drizzle around. although i got to tell that you current observations we are not seeing too much being reported. it could be developing between 6 and 9:00. we will keep tabs on it. overnight tonight, down in the 40s in many spots.

40s. 37 in keene. check out the latest track from the national hurricane center on matthew. right now 145-mile-per-hour winds with a cat 4 status. there is the western tip of haiti. there is port-au-prince. there is guantanamo, and right now jamaica on the west side of the hurricane will not be feeling the worst of it. but the worst of it heading into, again, haiti, cuba, even into the bahamas. and then we go into time. we eastern parts of florida, threatened by possibilityly the western side of the worst -- possibly the western side and the worst of this storm and then the carolinas we will have to be watching and what happens beyond that, well, the computer models we are getting in every six hours overnight shifting a little more westward. a greater chance at least based on what we are seeing right now that we at least get some rain out of this, possibly some wind, and certainly some rip currents

welcome back, everyone. a new study show a doctor's political views can impact a patient's care. yale university asked doctors with different political affiliations how they would act on specific health circumstances. scientists compared the answers of the republican and democratic doctors. turns out politics does advice on depression or alcohol abuse but plays a role in firearm safety and abortion and other hot button issues. doctors and patients should be mindful of this when discussing care. we are get our first look at one boston's largest development in years. one charlestown is set to replace the bunker hill housing complex. the developer recently released these rendering of the project. in addition to 3200 new apartment and condos.

the latest invention. a minirobot designed to keep you company. it is called carobo mini. 4 inches tall and can respond to facial expressions, remember your likes and dislikes and remember trips you have taken together. the robot can can be linked to cars and gadgets in the home and is small enough to fit in a cup holder. no word on how much it will cost or if it is appropriate for a >> julie: that is what people would want to know. not the only robot hitting the market. hasbro has released this -- a picture we just showed it to you of a life-like dog and they sell a cat already. the realistic pets are helped to ease loneliness in the elderly and children. nearly real pets can provide companionship similar to real animals. the robot dog costs $120.
