>> christa: happening on this tuesday, grief counselors will be at a high school in dedham. >> jadiann: a 16-year-old collapsed and died during field hockey practice. the family is talking about their lost. jennifer eagan is with us this morning. >> good morning. casey dunne's parents say she was healthy but she told a friend she didn't feel well at practice on friday and then she fell on the field. this photo captured casey dunne's exuberance. a half hour later the 16-year-old collapsed during practice. >> it embodies case y pure joy. what it does for me as her mother and having to say goodbye gives me comfort to know she was that happy and she died mercifully quick in a place she loved, doing the sport she loved

with people she loved. >> her parents say she died of a brain hemorrhage. loved ones had flowers delivered to the home. her parents shared memories of her daughter, one of five children. >> we have magical moments when the sunset is right and the water turns pink or orange and she would always ask, dad, is this going to be a pink water night? and she would hit the paddle board. >> at the school, flies fly -- flags at half staff. her family is offering advice to others. >> relish every moment with your children and your family. >> reporter: counselors will be available for students at the school today. we're live in dedham this morning, jennifer eagan, "7 news today in new england." >> christa: thank you. also right now, a brookline firefighter off the job after he allegedly attacks a man outside a restaurant. let's go to victoria warren.

the two guys were in line ready that? >> reporter: that's what we're told. this morning the firefighter is on leave. the town administrator in brookline investigating. this started at a burrito chain with an argument over an order of food. >> a brookline firefighter accused of throwing punches, food and a bottle. the victim had to go to the hospital after after fight. the 37-year-old firefighter was in line and police say he got angry as how long the man in front of him was taking to order. he asked him to hurry up and witnesses say the two men exchanged words. when the man went outside, witnesses say the firefighter followed him, cursing at him. that's when the fight started and according to witnesses, the firefighter through the victim to the ground, kicking him and then straddling him while he punched him five to seven times. the firefighter left but was

later arrested. >> it seems out of character for a firefighter. you would expect a firefighter to be a role model, someone kids can look up to who is not causing that type of trouble. >> reporter: the firefighter will have to answer to a judge. as for the victim, the victim was treated for a cut above his eye. he's okay. we did ask the firefighter for his side of the story to which he replied, i'm all set. live in brookline, victoria warren, "7 news today in new england." >> jadiann: overnight, two firefighters in kansas city have been killed and two others injured after a burning building collapsed. officials say the firefighters who died had just rescued two people from inside that burning apartment building. they were cleaning an area and clearing the area that had partially collapsed and then it gave in. their deaths coming as a shock for the department. >> they did not die in vain. they saved two civilians.

later found a genetic defect may have caused his death. attorneys for an irish nanny were concerned the d.a. may have tried to influence the case. aisling mccarthy's charged were later dropped. ryan insists she never tried to influence a ruling and tells the globe she had a good working relationship with the medical examiner. >> jadiann: a 17-year-old is recovering after hit by an suv. the girl pushed the pedestrian button at the traffic light and was in the crosswalk when the vehicle hit her. the girl was alert when taken to the hospital. police are still investigating. drivers are hoping for a smooth commute after a truck got stuck underneath a storrow drive overpass monday. crews removed the truck last night. the driver hit the footbridge at bay state road inbound. police closed both inbound lanes

no one was hurt. >> christa: five democratic candidates for president set to take the stage tonight to debate. a crucial chance to make a strong case before a nationwide audience. let's go to kris anderson. what are we expecting from the candidates? >> could be fireworks. you never know when debates like they say take place. the debate will take place at the wynn casino. five podiums are set up but there's a sixth podium just in case vice president joe biden officially enters the race today. now they're waiting to see if the other candidates will focus on their campaigns or if they will take aim at frontrunner hillary clinton. >> five democrats, one stage, las vegas is set to host the first democratic debate of the election season. in true vegas fashion it's billed as a heavyweight fight. hillary clinton will be front and center, just to her right, her closest competitor, vermont

senator bernie sanders. hoping to gain traction in the polls, jim webb, martin o'malley and lincoln chafee. don't forget about joe biden. cnn has a sixth podium if he decides to join the race. that seems unlikely since he's still meeting with family in delaware trying to decide if he's ready to run. secretary clinton arrived monday and headed for one of donald trump's casinos to take part in a ruin rally. >> some people think mr. trump is entertaining but i don't think it's entertaining when somebody insults immigrants and women. >> a jab at donald trump but don't expect many insults to play on the stage. experts believe the candidates will focus on the issues at hand rather than attacking each other. that's the latest live in the newsroom, kris anderson, "7 news today in new england." >> christa: thank you.

boston over the next few hours. so you do need the rain gear, i think right now we're dry in the city but rain is advances north from providence from dighton, fall river, up 24, up 95. there may be steady rainfall between 7:30 and 9:30 this morning across the metro. it's a fast-moving weather system. it's a tiny weather system that really is quite potent for how small it is but it will have raindrops. it scoots across metro boston this morning. by the afternoon hours it quickly moves out of here. by 12:00 today this is what the radar will look like, a plume of rain shifting away. for the remainder of the day, noon, certainly mid afternoon and evening commute will be dry. the sun will come back out and it's a day that's more like september as opposed to october with temperatures this morning -- there are cool pockets of air in southern new hampshire where the air is drier

but in new hampshire, we have a truck crash in new hampshire. 93 northbound, right after exit 3. but there's about a mile and a half of backed up traffic on the other side, the heavier southbound side in new hampshire. everything else around the area in pretty good shape. that's the expressway and the t is on time. rich kirkland, "7 news today in new england." >> jadiann: thank you, rich. now the day's top stories, grief counselors will be on hand at a high school following the death of casey dunne, who died after a brain hemorrhage after collapsing at field hockey practice. a brookline firefighter faces assault charges and was placed on administrative leave. the 37-year-old attacked a man outside of a taqueria sunday night. the two exchanged words while in line and the suspect later punched the man and, quote, through a bottle and food at him. the victim will be okay. two firefighters in kansas city have been killed and two

others injured after the roof of a burning apartment building collapsed on top of them. the firefighters who died just finished rescuing others from the building. both of the other injured firefighters are expected to be tock okay. >> christa: happening right now, a new hampshire community searching for answers or after a woman missing for weeks is found dead inside her own home. let's go out to byron barnett in manchester with the latest here. >> reporter: definitely a heartbreaking find here at this manchester apartment. a couple of candles are burning outside the apartment for a makeshift memorial. after weekends of searching police made the discovery of a missing woman's body hidden in her own home. sue hutchinson had been missing for three weeks. anywhere. inside her home, the entire time. police say she was murdered and stuffed in a crawl space behind a false wall in a closet.

police arrested michael -- and lauren kalil friday in man. they'll be charged with murder and unarmed burglary. officers say five guns that were stolen from the meck ken a's home were recovered in the suspect's home. >> christa: crews rushing to rescue a dump truck driver in peabody. the driver was pinned inside the truck which had flipped over, which you see here. it took first responders two hours to free him. witnesses could only wait, watch and hope for a positive outcome. >> they'd been cutting and cutting with the jaws of life and everything. the longer it takes to get him out, the more serious it is. he didn't know when he left the house this morning this was going to happen to him. such a shame. >> firefighters believe the driver lost control because of a medical issue.

we're live in dedham this morning, jennifer eagan, "7 news today in new england." >> christa: thank you. meantime today a brookline firefighter off the job accused of attacking a man outside of a restaurant allegedly upset over how the man was ordering his food. you see victoria warren in brookline with the story for us this morning. >> reporter: good morning. christa. the town administrator placed this brookline firefighter on leave and we're told this all started at a burrito chain over an order of food. a brookline firefighter off the job, accused of throwing punches, food and a bottle at a man outside anna's tackry are taqueria. the victim had to go to the hospital. the 37-year-old firefighter was in line and police say he got angry at how long the man in front of him was taking to order. he asked him to hurry up and that's when witnesses say the two men exchanged words.

when the man went outside, witnesses say the firefighter followed him cursing at him. that's when the fight started and according to witnesses, the firefighter threw the victim to the ground, kicking him and straddling him while punching him five to seven times. the firefighter left but was arrested. >> it's out of character for auto firefighter. you expect firefighters to be a role model, not causing that type of trouble. >> the firefighter will have to answer to a judge. as for the man who was brought to the hospital, he was treated for a cut above his eye. he's going to be okay. we did ask the firefighter for his side of the story to which he replied, i'm all set. live in brookline, victoria england." >> jadiann: overnight, two firefighters in kansas city have been killed and two others injured after a burning building collapsed. the firefighters who died had just rescued two people from inside the burning apartment building. they were clearing an area that

had a partially collapsed roof when it gave n their deaths coming as a shock to their department. >> they did not die in vain. they saved two civilians, carried them out of the second floor on ladders before the wall collapsed. >> jadiann: both of the other injured firefighters are expected to recover. >> christa: the globe reporting a former medical examiner felt billionied by marion ryan and her office to not change a ruling of a death in a baby in medal den. jeffrey wilson was charged with shaking his six-month-old son to death in 2010 but the medical examiner wanted to change his finding after he found a genetic defect. the d.a. didn't want him to change his original finding. murder charges were dropped last year. attorneys for an irish nanny says they were too concerned the

suspect later punched the man and threw a bottle and food at him. the victim is expected to be okay. two firefighters out in kansas city have been killed. two others injured after the roof of a burning apartment building collapsed. officials say the firefighters who died had just finished rescuing two people inside. both of the other injured firefighters are expected to be okay. >> jadiann: right now a new hampshire community searching for answers as a woman missing for weeks is found dead inside her own home. police say the woman's body was hidden behind a fake wall and the family tipped off police too to. byron barnett is live in new hampshire with the latest for us. >> reporter: this was a heartbreaking find here in this manchester, new hampshire apartment. behind me you can see a couple of candles still burning overnight on the steps here from a makeshift memorial after weeks of searching. police made the grim discovery

in her own home. sue hutchinson had been missing for three weeks. anywhere. inside her home the entire time. police say she was murdered and stuffed in a crawl space behind a false wall in a closet. >> i hope she didn't die in pain. i hope it went quick and she didn't suffer. >> darlene bellcourt came by to leave candles and roses at the manchester apartment where the body of the 57-year-old was found sunday night. >> she was a wonderful person. and i just want to let her know that i hope that she can rest in peace. >> hutchison's family had called police to search the home after smelling something strange inside sunday even. little did family members know it was her decomposing body hidden behind a false wall. >> crawl spaces sometimes are well concealed. other times they're not.

the debris fell off a truck. the driver of the truck didn't stop and police think he may not have known it happened. the scene has been cleared and there do not appear to be traffic backups. >> christa: grief counselors will be at a high school in dedham following the sudden death of a student. >> the 6 -- 16-year-old from wellesley collapsed and died on the field hockey field. >> she was the third of five children, her parents say she was healthy. they didn't know of any preexisting medical conditions before she collapsed. casey dunne was a junior at noble and greenough school. during field hockey practice she told a friend she didn't feel well then fell. her parents say she died of a brain hemorrhage. she volunteered after an orphanage in europe.

her parents advise people to relish time with family. >> what it does for me as your hero -- mother, having to say goodbye, gives me a source of comfort to know she was that happy and she died mercifully quick with -- in a place she loved, doing a sport that she loved, with people that she loved. >> reporter: and counselors will be available for for students here at the school today. we're live in dedham, jennifer eagan, "7 news today in new england." >> jadiann: a brookline firefighter is off the job accused of attacking a man outside of a restaurant. he was allegedly upset over how the man was ordering his food. victoria warren is live in brookline with the story this morning. >> reporter: good morning. the town administrator says they're investigating and for now this firefighter is on administrative leave. this all happened here at anna's taqueria and we're told it started with an argument over an order of food.

so this 37-year-old firefighter is accused of throwing food and a bottle at the man, knocking him to the ground and then punching him five to seven times. the victim told police that the firefighter was angry because he was taking too long to order his food. witnesses say the argument turned into a physical fight outside. witnesses tell us the firefighter left the scene but was later arrested. so the man who was the victim in all this, he did go to the hospital where he was treated for an injury above his eye but he is expected to be okay. again, the firefighter is on administrative leave. he's also facing criminal charges so he will have to answer to a judge for this. we asked him for his side of the story and he told us that he was all set. live this morning in brookline, victoria warren, "7 news today in new england." >> christa: breaking news from overnight, two firefighters in kansas city have been killed, two others injured after a burning apartment building

collapsed. officials say the firefighters who died just rescued two people and had gone back inside the burning building. both of the other injured firefighters are expected to be okay. >> jadiann: a 17-year-old is recovering after hit by an suv in worcester. the girl pushed the pedestrian button and was in the crosswalk when the vehicle hit her monday evening. the hospital. police are still investigating that crash. >> christa: the globe reporting a former medical examiner says that he felt bullied by middlesex d.a. marion ryan to not changed the ruling of a death of a baby. jeffrey wilson was charged with shaking his six-month-old son to death in 2010 but the medical examiner changed his finding after a defense expert found a genetic defect might have caused the death. the medical examiner says the d.a. did not want him to change his original finding. murder charges were dropped. attorneys for the irish nanny
